Yeah Optimas aren't great for car audio. May I ask if this "big boat walmart battery" is a sealed agm? I think I know what battery he is talking about, and if so, its just a normal lead acid. On a ranger theres room under the hoot for 2 more batteries, so all is good there. My problem is, my ranger has a 95amp alternater, so i will need to upgrade that. I already get my voltage gauge dropping with just 2 jensen 12's and a 250w amp, or just my headlights and fog lights (The fogs are 150w HID variety. They were free and BRIGHT) That's pretty sweet you have extra space under the hood for batts I'm jealous. Yeah just don't put a normal acid batt inside the cabin, sealed agm is fine.

How about you list which specific driver your talking about, and your goals / preferences? Didn't you already buy some aq drivers? Edit, Guess your referring to the "Two AQ 15" HDC Copper coils" ?

Not sure how long it'd take them to make the alt. I know it took them a few weeks before mine was shipped. I would just fill out a support ticket on their site and say this is my car, this is my budget, what are my options, and how long would it take to build. -

I'd recommend DC Power, although people have been having some issues with them lately. I also know there in the middle of making a new case for some honda's. Not sure if it's accord, civic, etc. One thing that's cool with DC Power alts is, you can get the case swapped when you a buy another vehicle and keep using it Also have different models depending on your budget. So that's my say. -
lol really? lol really. And xcons aren't the only thing I'd look for, just not dc subs. lol i suggested IA before anything... what a tool. I never said anything about incriminator, just simply stating that I personally wouldn't go with dc for the above posted reasons. Yeah I guess I'm a tool?

There has been a lot of shit in general lately, and a bunch of it concerning this. Kevin's either going to get his shit together and continue to be apart of the SSA community and if he doesn't, he won't be here anymore. Mark and Aaron aren't going to let anyone down

Dc eh, old copied designs, inefficient w/ high power ratings = must be good! Look for some used xcons

Im sorry but we don't know your vehicles trunk dimensions.

Win. What car should I get? It should be able to move and carry at least one person, oh and it should be black.

You can get a brand new one shipped for $250 from summit racing. SSA > summit Sorry I buy from where ever I can get the best deals? I don't have cash to spare, otherwise I would... -
But hey, he can build "super custom drivers", little mix n match parts

Push cone up and down and try and feel/hear any coil rub. Look between the basket and venting at the coil and make sure it's not burnt, melted, discoloration black. All that I can think of.

I bet that weight a lot. Looks good. Wish I had all those tools at my disposal

Battery or HO alt?
ssh replied to Goldberg07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
x2, 4gauge wire isn't sufficient. Do you have a budget? Can you afford an h/o alt? Is adding 30-50lbs of battery weight in the rear a concern? -
I new they were pretty beefy, but you just don't know till you get one in your hands. Yep, I just imagine an sa12 on a 8" basket. Sa12s were pretty beefy and stiff suspension
-
Sweet, something about sa8s I just love.

Does this mean you can start making cases pretty soon? I need to ship back a xp series alt and get a new case for a volvo v40 1.9L I4. Or can I ship the alt back now and have you guys swap it out once a case is made? Stefan

Oh I know you'll have tons of batteries and amps, want the least amount of voltage drop as possible.
