    So guys...

I'm hoping you read the OG thread as well.

Ah, have you figured out port length for the aeros?

    Havasufreak Build Log

That's the thing that's nice about aeros, just add them in once the box is done. Figure out if they'll fit above the driver, perhaps you can stagger them. What's the height and width for the panel that the driver is being mounted to?

    Havasufreak Build Log

What direction did you plan on having the driver fire towards? What direction did you plan on having the ports fire towards? And now, you want to do sub firing forward into the dash and ports back?

dowels and aeroports won't take up THAT much space. If you pretended they didn't effect enclosure volume, it would raise your tuning maybe a hertz or so. Not going to be audible really. Example ---------- 80in^2 port area. Box Volume: 5.0cubes Port Length: 40.52in Tuning: 30hz 80in^2 port area. Box Volume: 4.8cubes Port Length: 40.58in Tuning: 30.6hz 80in^2 port area. Box Volume: 4.6cubes Port Length: 40.51in Tuning: 31.28hz As you can see, the box volume in the above has a difference of up to 0.4cubes, and by keeping the same port length, tuning has risen to a little more then a hertz. Not sure how much volume the ports take up, figure your bl has a displacement of 0.21cubes... Examples were calculated from 12volt site.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Found my old box and fi bl for sale on CL today, http://tucson.craigslist.org/ele/2288530862.html Box is a total piece of shit...
  9. 13v resting voltage is good... Yea... I know. But I've never heard of a 13v resting for a 12v batt. I usually see 12.X volts. U think he just whipped a number out of his ass? Or is 13v believeable? It's certainly possible for it to have a resting voltage at 13v, or perhaps he was driving the car then turned it off and checked, giving you the float charge...

Scanspeak makes nice stuff, and I like the 7" size, little easier to fit but still got output. I'll be tuned in, I don't have the patience either, or know how. Hell, I break all the tabs every time I have to take any interior panels off.

The tweeters are in the doors along with the mids. So if I want to run the mids I really want to I will have to glass the doors which I'm not excited to do but I'm about the results haha Andrew I'm in the same boat, I've never done any glassing either, thinking about practicing and making some shelf pods for the desk, then move on to car doors, or just build lower section and wrap in vinyl or pleather and somehow make flush with the rest of door. Keyword, somehow
  12. You can get a brand new one shipped for $250 from summit racing. SSA > summit Sorry I buy from where ever I can get the best deals? I don't have cash to spare, otherwise I would... We sell at the lowest authorized price on EVERYTHING. That is why when people find something we carry cheaper, it is not according to NDA which means the product is not authorized and does not carry a warranty. Good deal, something I'll keep in mind next time.

I got no help for you, but I'm digging the updates. HU looks sick. Got me thinking about my front stage. I started listening to some Slightly Stoopid again, omg, kick drums, so epic, really want some 8"s in my doors now. Does the Tahoe have stock tweeter locations near a-pillar or front dash?
  15. 250a or 300a. You can get a brand new d5100r shipped for $250 from summit racing. Not input on buying used battery, really depends on how long they had it and if they properly charged it or stressed the shit out of it.

    Updated my Blackberry FTW

My pops has a blackberry for work, after doing updates it fucks with all the calender settings, ends up deleting past events and records, total pain in the ass. Otherwise we might try updating...
  18. 1/0 gauge is rated for 350amps, and that number varies depending on length. The 4500d calls for a 500amp fuse. Not saying it's going to be trying to pull 500amps, but probably a fair amount more then 350. Sounds like you should run an extra power cable.

A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Yep, you heard right. You know, I still have mixed feeling about this, and not the feel good warm fuzzy kind. I'm going to have to keep an eye on this whole area. With so many alts and the batteries being sensitive to over voltage charging, I get the feeling I'm playing with fire. All I can do is keep my voltage in check and keep an eye for ballooning batteries. While I'm there I might as well check for green and white flakes on the terminals. This stuff was never meant to last forever. Glad the link helps. The door panel covers the holes pretty well. It was a tight squeeze. I'm happy with the way it looks. Sad to say but I bought these mids based on internet hype and cost. I don't doubt they'll get the job done. I'm just saying this is where the internet has taken this hobby. I think this is why so many shop owners and sales people have attitude. Will do. Thanks. x2, otherwise cancellation(?) will eat up your midbass. The horse leads the cart. I'll let the music show me what panels need deadening. Don't worry my labor is free to me. As for saying good bye to all my mid-bass, take it easy there chicken little the mid-bass isn't disappearing. First and foremost the door panel will separate the front wave from the rear wave. Cancellations solved. Deadener will help. I can't just stick the stuff all willie nillie and think I did it right. I know there are guidelines, I just prefer to play some music to see and hear what panels are going to be trouble some. The ultimate would be to put some real enclosure behind these mofo's. I would but there's the power window track in the way. For the most part speakers like this are designed to be installed in leaky doors and still perform. It's a pick your battles sort of thing. I chose to want to keep everything behind the stock panels. Visually I don't want this thing to look as loud as it really is. I think a semi-stealth install will help me pull this off. The bass output is what's going to melt peoples faces off when I drop the knob in this thing. The mid-basses are for when I'm driving to work in the morning listening to Band of Skulls with the volume 1/4 up. Sorry for being long winded, but when the words want to flow you just go with it. I hear ya. Small ported enclosure tuned to what 70hz or so, would be sick!
  20. No idea, id buy one, see voltage, then get another if needed
  21. Gonna need some more batteries if you get a 4500 or two 2500ds
  22. Oh shit . I really wish you lived closer!
