Otherwise that would be sweet.

arduino would be great https://www.sparkfun.com/categories/80 That wouldn't work, I need position and time then I can derive velocity and acceleration. Working backwards with an accelerometer would have way too much error on it's own plus it would be recording acceleration from outside the suspension travel (e.g. the movement of the entire bike).

Bit bigger than what I was thinking but it might work: http://www.vernier.com/products/accessories/motion-encoder-cart-upgrade-kits/meu-vds/

I got this idea of using two sensors and a raspberry pi to measure the kinematics of my dirt bike front suspension. The sensors would need to be about the size of a lighter or smaller and the suspension travel is about 10", so the resolution would need to be able to handle small changes in that range (not sure on exact resolution yet). Anyone have any ideas on companies or places to look for such? So far I'm looking at Pasco and Vernier.

Check with your uni, I got all the office products for free. On my desktop I use Openoffice though. I haven't worked out in over a year and just recently started back up so I'm pretty sucky right now but I've found that if I try to do a bunch of chins in one set (8+) then I get pumped up super quick and then I'm fucked for the rest of the sets (only able to do 3-4 reps), so I've been doing lower reps but more sets to get the volume in without getting pumped. From that I've been able to transition to more reps and less sets over the last few weeks. Once I get the work capacity up then I'll switch to weighted chins like bodyweight as warmup 10 reps, 8rm weighted, 6rm weighted, 5rm weighted. Also for what it's worth when I did weighted chins like the above rep and set count I could do a ton of bodyweight chins even though I never trained for the volume.

Gotta sleep upside down while you're at it. I don't know how hard you're jumping up to the bar but if you're grabbing it while you're body is still going up then that sounds rough on all the connective tissue.

Looking forward to the photos Matt.

Fuck them rodents. I walked into the kitchen the other day and saw one chilling on top of the backyard wall. Promptly grabbed a bb gun, opened the sliding glass door a few inches, shot it off the wall then went back to making lunch. Sometimes I get a whiff after 10min of driving when they nest in the engine bay.

Had a general chemistry professor do that under a fume hood. For some reason she didn't think she had enough for it to be violent.

Amp turning off at high volume and voltage problems
ssh replied to Mattl's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You should be able to get it tested with a load at Oreillys or Autozone. -
I think you might be misunderstanding. There is no relationship between enclosure volume and port area, so saying 10in^2 per ft^3 or 16-18in^2 per ft^3 are both equally meaningless. You can't gauge how "big a port" (or rather the port speed) is relative to the enclosure volume--it's the same thing as saying "That car is fast because it is red." When you design an enclosure with a port you design for an acceptable port speed and the resultant is some quantity of port area. Thus, port speed is a function of the number of drivers, power, Fs, Vas, Qes, tuning frequency, and port area.

Ya I get what you're saying. It's my understanding that 0.10 isn't the worst. Obviously people aim for the .04-.05 range. In your opinion, did I totally screw up my box? Is 0.10 going to screw up the entire build? I just had a hard time wrapping my head around a port at 96sq" x 18" is necessary for a singe 18", but now looking at mach, I get it. I have no idea. I haven't checked your net volume or port length to see if they're correct, and I honestly can't suggest what maximal port speed is acceptable. All I know is my last setup was 25 m/s and I didn't run into any issues--that's not to say I couldn't have gotten away with higher port speed / less port area.
-
Do you mind rewriting that for me? I didn't exactly get what you were trying to say. He's saying you shouldn't be concerned about port noise that's in a vehicle if the port speed is 36 m/s.

3" x 16" = 48in^2, 2000watts, 32hz, vent mach: 36 m/s or 0.10 (36/340). 96in^2, 2000watts, 32hz, vent mach: 18 m/s 0.05 (18/340). I don't see why their recommendation strikes you as being odd.

I'd go with OpenVPN, seems pretty easy too: http://www.howtogeek.com/64433/how-to-install-and-configure-openvpn-on-your-dd-wrt-router/ Oh and if you want I can make you a subdomain *.bitpusher.in to point to your IP if you don't want to buy a domain / use dynamic dns or what ever it is.

Thanks man, perfect timing as I needed 3 32gb microsd cards for the phones I just ordered. I think their 60% off is a little optimistic, believe the cards I bought were $20 yesterday but on sale for $15 today. Not complaining though, that's still $15 saved and free shipping...saving money is saving money Sweet, glad someone could use it. I saw the sale on the ssds and thought maybe Matt needed a few for all his porn.

I use Plex. It works very well, but the initial set up is a PITA, it will take hours. I'm beginning to learn that. I got it setup and appeared to be working on the local network. Added a few songs to the library then they randomly disappeared. Tried enabling remote access via their "myplex" and now when I login to the interface it doesn't show the actual server anymore, just my plex account information. Ugh! I don't like that you have to have an account through plex.com and use them as a third party for connecting remote computers. It's annoying, but once it is set up it works extremely well. I finally got it working. I only have 100gb of space so I won't have much movies, but I've been using it for music today and it's awesome.

New alternator not charging batt?
ssh replied to Mattl's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Rev the engine, does the voltage go up? I'm guessing the HO alt makes less amperage at idle than the OEM alt. -
Anyone use plex for media streaming or another software? I'm looking to stream movies and music from a linux server to computers or phones. Main goal is having all my music available on my phone like a personal pandora.
