They had a short run made for testing and what not. Now their officially in production. You can safely guess what enclosure volume to use when going for ground pounder / spl. Id go off xcon specs but use as much volume as possible. For example, the pair of 15" xcons I have, recommended is ~8cubes, but if I had more room id go with greater efficiency and try and shoot for 10cubes or so. Sq may lack some, but its for loudness... -
Sweet stuff coming on. Mb quart looks nice. Spoken like a true man, gotta show it off

Voltage dropping to 12.5v isnt good imo. With a 225a alt and 2500wrms amp on music (doubtful you even come close to that rms rating), you shouldnt really have considerable voltage drop. You went from a RF amp to Sundown. Sundown amps are no joke. You may want to consider upgrading or reworking your electrical wiring if needed. You might even need to look into XS Power battery up front and another XS Power battery near the amp. I have a feeling you are starving your Sundown amp. Maybe your enclosure foe the sub is less than optimal. Good luck Agreed, but I'd still think even if he went easy on the sundown for this test, he could give the new driver as much if not more power then the RF, and it should be louder. I'd do what Nick suggested first tho.

I'm getting it changed this week One less thing to deal with. As for the enclosure, we had some problems fitting the ports in the original design, so were doing a new box. It should be awesome when it's done The more glassing I do, the less sanding I find myself having to do. Perhaps I'm slowly getting better at it. I'm also in the process of moving, so I have the majority of my tools at the new house, so going back and forth in limbo land I bought a cool looking amp for my mids and highs, vibe litebox 2 channel. Nothing fancy, but should be a lot better then hu power. Also got a cheap pair of vibe 6.5s just so I can finish up the door pods. Hopefully next week I'll have a pod done and some new pictures

You went from what amp to what? Voltage is good?

Yeah anything around there will be good. Get what you can afford. Personally id rather have a beefy alt and possibly less batteries. -
Mark, I'm reaching out to you buddy....

Now that is just sick. -

Owner of the system is banned for trying to sell skars products on ssa forum, undercutting ssa all together. Has nothing to do with the debate or his build log. But I agree with you. So box designers and M5, have the floor. I'm out.
-
I see what there saying. And I want to see Sean's response, and their response to his questions. I think it all comes down to: How did the box builders come up with the measurements, volumes, and tuning. And why? And what did they change / do to make it work better for the specific vehicle. M5 wants to know what was their reasoning for their math on the enclosure. And they want to know how he can say it will have a very non linear response when he hasn't heard it, or doesn't know the vehicles cabin characteristics. And M5 would want to know what they did with their knowledge of the cabin characteristics, and how they used it to make the enclosure. I'm I right everyone? Sound fair?

Damn! You could do a real big build right there, and I know this guy that does boxes

Welding wire from weldingsupply.com is good, it's generally cheaper then wire labeled for car audio, but it's all the same. Even all copper strands, not cca.

Agreed. Florida does have a reputation, but it doesn't apply to everyone. Can't fall for stereotypes. Black people like fried chicken. Or that Jews are cheap. Muslims are terrorists. Mexicans are lazy. And america's biggest threat is a mexican gay muslim grizzly bear. What rep do we have? That we WIN!! But really, I have never heard of this "reputation". I'm not saying this, nor do I agree, but I've been on numerous forums, ca, c aco, termpro, floridaspl, etc, and from time to time you see similar stuffin regards to being loud as fuck, but not necessarily sql. For instance, a shit load of bullet super tweeters, yes very fucking loud, sound good? ehh. Either way, you can't judge a book by it's cover, AND I don't.

And beef jerky and cold water.

That paid for a lot of stuff Nice work. Yeap, and the maintenance was due 86k miles. Glad it'll be out of the way. Hardest part was just prepping, removing base boards, carpet strips, laying mat. Laying and cutting the floor was a breeze.
