Will this 21" work in LLT/EBS?

Yeah it seems like a challenge getting ht loud but keeping it inside the house and not disrupting others

Will this 21" work in LLT/EBS?

No idea man, but it all looks interesting, maybe even promising How loud was it outside your house with the towers?

    got 3 18'' fi q series

Thats plenty of power. Post up pics and video when it's all done
  5. ssh

    got 3 18'' fi q series

More volume = less power handling, increased efficiency. Less volume = higher power handling, decreased efficiency. In terms of loudness and sq, a small box may be peaky, less of a flat response, too big a box, not sure. I personally always like to go with bigger boxes and have better efficiency and use less power. I'd go with Fi's middle recommendation of 6cubes per driver. I know what you mean about sealed enclosure sound verse ported. I think your setup will retain that sealed type sound but with all that cone area it'll still be able to be quite authoritive when the bassline comes in

    So Many Questions..........

I certainly can't speak for everyone, but I'm glad your able to look back and see what you were doing, and apologize. The best thing you can do to get a firm understanding on everything is, read through all the forum sections, new threads and old. Use the search function, it's a gold mine of information. Also the12volt.com site and bcae have lots of helpful charts, calculators, and explainations. Oh and be sure to post some pictures of box, hope it came out as anticipated.

    So Many Questions..........

I do believe the tuning frequency of a ported box sits above the zero db line. Yeah, that guy's a dick.. Don't worry about it. If I build to these dimensions: Width: 52 Height: 22 Depth1: 18 Depth2: 18 Port Width: 5 Port Length: 8 It says the tuning frequency will e 31 Hz. Will someone with a more precise calculator run those numbers and tell me what the actual tuning frequency will be? Assuming these dimensions are external, so you need to take into account wood thickness and find internal dimensions then net volume, using 3/4" wood? For finding tuning, you need: net volume, port width, port height, and port length. You did not post a port height.

    So Many Questions..........

I just read all three pages and boy are you a little shit burko. You want help with something you don't understand, the help you get, you ignore and shrug off as an insult. Even one of the top builders tries explaining things and offering advice and your response is of a brat... You have a lot to learn... Respect goes a long way man. You can reply to this and tell me off, it really doesn't matter to me, just remember if you want help here, show some respect.

Could you try to wrap the one you have in tinfoil and make a mold of it for the other side? Yeah never came to thought. I found this article, looks pretty cool and it's easy: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/how-articles-provided-our-members/53732-cheap-adjustable-easily-replaceable-tweeter-pods.html :D

Yeah possibly pvc... hmm. The problem I'm having is making both pods look the same. I think I remember even seeing a group buy for aluminum tweeter pods on a volvo forum, hmmm

That pleather stuff is an itch to work with, from what i've done. I had the same problem on my pods. Would have been even worse for me on your small tweet pods. Keep on truckin' and getting experience. I need to start doing that soon. For the last couple weeks I've been working on our new house, laid laminate flooring, laid brick for patio, wheel barreled sand, all day long. Then I'd drive across town to our old house, get home around 7pm, and work on my doors til 12, then go to mcdonalds, then sleep. And now, I'm finally done working on the new house, pretty much done with everything, so I think I'm gonna load up a box of all fiberglass, mat, sand paper, dremel, paint, and just relax for two days and go over everything with a little more patience. Maybe sand down some rough edges I think the tweeter pods were too small with too many contours to wrap with just about anything I might try and make some tweeter pods like this: Imagining the two poles being stainless steel mounted to the door, and the pod just floats a little away from door.
