I fully understand that 145db at 30hz is far different to the ear then 150db at 50hz. The point is, I want to know what numbers I'm doing and at what frequencies. Will knowing these numbers help improve my goal of loudness? No, because I'm not looking for my peak and building a spl box. I just want to know. It won't be for bragging rights, it won't make me feel like it's any louder, it won't even help, but I'd still like to know. If I was competing and this wasn't a daily ground pounder, I would find my peak frequency and tune a few hertz below that and start playing with enclosure volumes until I find a sweet spot. So my options are: more power (least efficient way and costly) different drivers (depending on power usage, mounting depth, motor force, sensitivity, and available funds) different enclosure design (which I have no plans on touching) vehicle bracing. At the moment can't afford new drivers, not sure how much power the xcons can really take. Unless I do some drastic bracing it probably wouldn't be any audible gain. So I'm going to wait until I have the proper electrical to turn up the saz3000d, see how much louder it gets, if the xcons can handle it, and if I'm satisfied.

Because I want to know the number. Am I stuck in high 40s, approaching 150? Not competing seriously, but louder is better. Not doing a spl box, just going for a ground pounder.

i wonder if my 3500d would be happy with 2 of these's??? Well I can say that I have a shit stock alt, generic starting battery, and a single d1200 in the rear, with a saz3000d. Gain is set relatively low but I can still hammer on it with somewhat decent voltage. If you plan on upgrading alts then between the new alt and two of them, you'd probably be good. (assuming your not playing very long / loud with the car off). If no new h/o alt, then they may not be enough. Do you know what amperage your stock alt can produce? LOL, my bad man.. i was thinkin u were BanginGMC.. i need to stay in one thread Haha, yeah he's bagging and it's a truck, slow to begin with, so weight is like meh whatever. -
No rush

You fix that security code on the team page yet?

I'm not bagging shit, I'm ordering eibach springs soon I unfortunately can't fit a d3100 in my cargo area, perhaps if I put it on it's side I could put one behind each fenderwell, but the d1200 fits perfectly. Probably replace starting batt with 3100 though. Between two d1200s on each side and a dc alt, I should have enough power to run a saz3000d or saz4500d -

Yeah I think these would be great for vehicles with lots of space, lots of playing time, and weight isn't an issue. In my case, xs power batts can give me the power I need in a small package, and relatively light -

Because their discharge rate? -
Sounds good. How are the smds handling all the power? Still using 3500ds? I'll be on the lookout for the build log. See ya at TRP

Yep I filled it with ccf, upon finding the screw that fell out and putting that back in Just need to glue the plastic that broke. Yeah me too. And I believe the volvo is built much more rigid then most american and japanese cars. The roof already is pretty stiff, hitting it with a fist makes a thump. I can hit my mothers mazda 6 and it flexes inward and sounds like a tin can when it rains. For sure, I've noticed the rear view mirror is pretty stiff and isn't AS affected by the bass as other people. Most of the body panels are pretty stiff like you said, I couldn't believe how much flex (in a bad way) my friend was getting from some pretty crappy subs. On some songs the rearview mirror shakes like crazy but stays in the same position, but other songs... It just flops down in a matter of seconds. The slider for the sunroof also slides back on it's own, and here and there I push all the window buttons up because they slowly go down (just a few mm every 10minutes) I'm thinking what else can I do to get louder on the tl. I'm sure stiffening the roof would help, but not ready for that yet. Thought about filling quarter panels up with expanding foam but would need to make sure I can still get to the lights and bulbs. Any other ideas?

Oh i plan on doing that for sure...been to court enough to know how to act, "yes you honor, no your honor". lol... But my windows were down...up here in OH the weather sucks so when its nice its a must to have them down. Hopefully all goes well though. I make it a habit, if I'm playing any bass, windows are up. And even so, I still need to turn it down at intersections and bumper to bumper traffic. Good luck.

I'll see how it is with a new alt and gain readjusted. I'm sure the zcons on the same amp would be louder, but not sure if it would be enough. And I don't have anymore room for a bigger amp My overhead light makes a rattling noise now... Some of the gasket for my windshield has ripped out... hmm
-
Just show up the court well dressed with a decent attitude and see what the judge says. Some tickets are just BS and going down to the court can often times get them thrown out (at least in my area). May I ask, were your windows up or down?

computer is slow after windows 7 install
ssh replied to superman814's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
When he reinstalled windows theres a good chance he didn't install your video drivers for your graphics card. This means it could be using generic drivers from windows, and causes page to be laggy when you scroll, etc. -
Those drivers are monsters, your going to love'm.

Best Voltage Meter?
ssh replied to burko's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That's the one, appreciate it man. Do you or does anyone else have any experience with these meters? Are they any good? Stinger ones are fine, never had any problems with them. Just don't forget to calibrate the screen with a dmm when you install it.
