I need to move to AZ... seriously. Don has pretty much thought his products out to the nth degree. That and his tiles do have a heavier gauge foil. I think there is only one other product out there that has a thicker. He's certainly been helpful Southern AZ is hot as hell during summer, kinda blows. I plan on making multiple trips this summer, just to get out of the heat

We'll have to meet up sometime

Ah ok, so it was some b-stock Damplifier, not actual Damplifier Pro. Not going to split hairs because I've had b-stock Damplifier and Damplifier Pro and it was all over the place, thick and thin. But for the price I was happy. Don's CLD tiles are literally the only vibration mat I haven't had the opportunity to use, but that will change shortly since Don is nice enough to send me a sample as soon as he gets it in stock. Yeah I went down to the new warehouse in Tucson and bought some directly from Ken, perhaps he was out of the regular stuff, I don't remember it was a while back I liked that the sheets were large, where as the sds cld tiles are small, but I know their small for a reason (25% coverage to reduce resonance, not persay for reduction in flex.)
-
Is that a fact or a statement? Because I know for a fact that Don's product is the same thickness as Damplifier Pro (80 mils nominal). Best suggestion I'd give you is buy the highest quality mat you can afford. So depending on how much you are wanting to spend, RAAMat might just be the best choice. That and Rick is a nice guy. I have bought both products, had each in my hands, and the stuff from SDS was thicker... The damplifier I got from second skin was according to Ken, "They made a mistake when making the last batch, so this damplifier is actually thicker then the damplifier pro." and I got it at the normal price, which is cool, but it was still thinner then sds. So I honestly don't care what the specs on the websites say... Or I wouldn't be surprised if Ken sold me the "damplifier" instead of "damplifier pro", he was a bit scattered And I'm no scientist, so perhaps the difference in thicknesses isn't a big deal.

@ the headrest! Does around a 158 in the kick. Nice scores! I am eager to hear more about the ZCON design when it is posted. I was at the show, heard Wills truck and an escalade with 2 18 L7s (whatever top square driver kicker makes), two warhorses, and four 300a DC alts. (install and everything was sick too) Wills truck was a lot louder, obviously has more cone area, but it was the loudest...

Second skin is expensive, wasn't all that impressed for the price. The cld tiles that SDS (sounddeadenershowdown) sells are way thicker then the second skin pro stuff.

Build looks great, bet it gets loud
-
I would use the ones that came with the speakers, sure you could use the factory ones, but I'm sure it would sound better using the crossovers that were designed for the kenwood speakers. Afterall, speakers are crossed at different points for a reason...

Video is sweet. I'm guessing they lined the blocks up on the roof, so it spelled out sundown audio. Started recording, play stereo, blocks fall off. Then reverse the video so they look like their going up the windshield and forming sundown.

Voted last week!

I have no problem voicing my opinion whether it is liked or not. I own a SSA product. Unless I see some product design testing (by SSA) and specs it will be the last. MY OPINION -1 if you like. Not going to -1 you, this isn't high school lol. I'm sure the T/S specs will be available once the product is 100% done and listed on the website for sale.
-
It appears the SSA does not design products therefore specs are unknown. Completely different level of product. ZCONs are comimg very soon guys.... finally. And the introductory price will be killer! No thanks. Don't really have anything positive to say do you?

Lupo GTI Build Log - Ascendant Audio, SPL Dynamics, XS Power
ssh replied to BILTD's topic in Ascendant Audio
I love the piano finish on everything Looks super super loud -
For sure. The output difference vs the two sa12's is insane, off of the same power too. The trunk is sealed for the 15's and wasn't with the 12's. He broke his rear view off of the windshield and got pulled over the day we installed them. damn. Between the cone area and sealing trunk, musta been a huge jump in loudness

There's tons of sweet rides everywhere, just gotta look around. The escalade with kicker stuff was from tucson!
-
The escalade with kicker stuff was sick. Pretty sweet build... But wills was louder. Both awesome trucks. Also heard a hybrid audio demo car, all sq, sounded amazing.
-
Show was pretty fun, fair amount of cars. Got a demo of a escalade with 2 18" L7s and two warhorses. Also heard big wills ride

I played a 38hz tone so I'm not sure where they got that number from.

Thanks. And the amp is set fairly low right now
