For some reason I hear people whispering that ALL the time. You need to see a doctor if you have voices in your head ALL the time.Lol.How many does it have to be before its voices and not an occasional voice? I can't remember what the doctor told me last time...

So I'm going to stop by the local volvo shop tomorrow and see how big of rims I can get. I think if I lift the car up a few inches maybe I can fit some chrome 20s. I had to give someone a ride once in my TJ, they kept saying "oh man you could put some nice shoes on dis" "put some 20s or 22s, damn itd look good".

The one thing that NEVER goes out of style is sounding GOOD. You are a tinkerer and need to tinker though so tinker with that...just don't start with the sub/s. I always find myself working on something that doesn't need to be worked on, or starting something pretty pointless, but at the beginning it was fun and didn't matter. I think that's why I liked fiberglassing, anything I made could be considered "practice" when I ultimately never ended up using it lol. Basically just need small projects to keep me busy and away from the stuff. The Make website has some decent stuff from time to time..

xmax would be excursion, Vd would be xmax * Sd (effective cone area), Vd is the amount of air being displaced at max excursion. Not sure what "16.5 on the driver" is referring to.

I get what your saying I was just making a twist on bush's quote. I support the legalization of cannabis but I don't talk much about it because I don't like the stereotype shit that goes along with the thought of "pot head". In fact when I was in SF a few weeks ago, I was able to go into a dispensary with a buddy who has a card, very nice place. Walked around SF enjoying myself and the city, bothering nobody.

It was a joke. Bush, ring any bells? I guarantee every president has smoked pot, and probably does so quite often in office. Nothing to do with pot, just missing the reference.

I believe pot and humans can coexist peacefully.

Always hard to buy shit for women, but if shes getting into running (which is awesome), then I'd definitely get her some shoes, and lingerie.
-
Better buy her something nice.

Nope, but breaking bad is awesome.

Something of that effect, but lemme guess, it works fine for high frequency, but yields nothing special for low frequency? lol. Sometimes I hate car audio, mostly because I'm so young and indecisive, not knowing what the fuck I want to do. Sometimes I really think about pulling everything out, going active, getting a nice amp, get a minidsp, new speakers, and a single smaller woofer. Othertimes, SPL SPL SPL SPL! Either way, in a few weeks I'm going with a smaller subwoofer enclosure so I can fit the bike in the back. seal dem bitches It's certainly a thought, or sell one xcon and keep the other, or sell both and get a single zcon, or a pair of dcons, honest haven't made up my mind on what direction I want to go. what amplifier do you have currently? one 12" zcon would save you a ton of room for sure. saz1500d, but I'm likely going to change to something larger in the future. Now your going to laugh, I was actually thinking an 18" zcon. My enclosure height would drop from 20"+ to around 14"-15", The lower height will be below the rear backrests so I'll actually be able to see out the rear window, and because it's lower I'll be able to push it back further (since the backrest is slanted) and I'll be able to gain some depth for the enclosure. Leaving me with the virtually the same width and depth dimensions as before, but height will be low enough that I can actually put my bike in and over. I'd flush mount the speaker and make a panel that rests on top of the enclosure for when the bikes in. Thats a cool idea. If it was me, I would want to save a little more space than that though. But its not me. I previously had a jeep with zero room. The v40 has more room at the rear seats then the jeep had, so if my enclosure takes up the cargo area yet I can still manage to throw a bike over it, it'll do everything I need and I'll be a happy camper.

You could pour some water in and see if it leaks out anywhere. *big grin* Here's some test tones you could try: http://storage.stefanhinote.com/AA.net _Test_Tones.zip By the way, it's thundering at my house.

What do you mean by parabolic? Like using a parabolic shape to reflect the sound waves, but now that I think of it, there would have to be another parabolic shape in the front of the vehicle, focusing it back to the focal point (front seats). So I think its a harebrained idea.
-
Parabolic enclosure targeted towards front seats, is this possible? Or just nuts? Not sure how well it would / could work since it's not in open air, and nor do I have any ideas about designing one. Anyone heard of something along those lines?

I just gave them a days notice by email, they said they'd be in, and I dropped by.

I love how dustcaps look on 10" models.

It may handle 3kw fine. Enclosure volume, material being played, and impedance curve will come into play. Going from one saz1500d to two would likely be a noticeable improvement in output, but remember you don't more then rms, or even rms for it to get loud. I've heard several setups with xcons, including my own lol, and a few zcon setups. Most of the demos from the zcons were at full output, but I did get a chance to do some lower output blending with front stage listening in Marks ride for a good bit of time, they sounded great.
