  1. That amp should be fine on stock electrical.

Yep. I guess market research shows more people add an amp for a subwoofer then for their front speakers. Which is stupid because you can still use the front full range output for sub duty. Are you sure it is only sub frequencies or is it just a non fading output. I haven't tested it, but I'm guessing it's probably just crossed fairly high. Already ordered a replacement, should make my life a little easier when I set everything up on the amp (6channel, 1&2 for front, 3&4 for rear, and last two channels bridged for sub).

I was paying more attention to not having a flip out screen, easy front menu, and ipod capability, just assumed it'd have the rca outputs in the back. Oh well, got another alpine coming lol.

  5. The extra terminals are just to make it easier to wire, but you can just use a single set. Both the +'s are internally connected, as well as the -'s.

Godsmack, I've been outside all day, just finished a little bit of glassing til it got stormy and blew all my fiberglass mat down the road, LOL.

I love this build log and it's only just begun. Stoked to follow along for updates.

Alpine cde-121, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33745_Alpine-CDE-121.html I completely spaced out when I was ordering.

The only rca output is for a subwoofer, I'm using a 6 channel amp for front speakers, rear speakers, and subwoofer.

Installed new speakers in the father's f150 today, wired up the amplifier, went to install the head unit and noticed it only had one rca out (for subwoofer, not front stage), fuck. Guess sonicelectronix doesn't refund opened goods... What a day, what a day.

    Couple Questions About Walls.

I'd love to see you drive your honda down the road with 750lbs in the back, all on stock suspension... Ever seen a car loaded down with huge people at McDonalds? The car doesn't handle that weight very well.

Are you ready to say good bye to looking out your rear window? I'm not sure how much the weight would be, but lets say it was only 300lbs, then you have the weight of the drivers, amps, and batteries. I could see a few extra hundred pounds getting away on stiffer shocks and springs, but more then that?

Yep, dont even have a plan. no designer on here feels confident enough to make me a design. so ill build the biggest enclosure i can and see what fits. The 18s "can" use so much space, that your going to have a hard time making an enclosure too big in that car, just once it's done, try to figure out the volume, then make your port. It surely wont be too big. if i can get 18 cubes ill run 3 18s if not ill have a very efficient wall for 2 18s. ( I bought 3 just incase) Oh man, I bet you wish you could see the look on people's faces when they read that. Ha didnt think of that. im nobody special, if i can afford them... They really arent that expensive. No I agree, CA just pulls in a lot of young people with no money and really shouldn't be spending all their money on subwoofers, so it's extremely expensive to them. Where as if they were an average person with a steady income, then it's really not that much.

Press "Play" and walk away. I had to do a power point presentation in computer class a few years back, as a joke, I typed in everything I was going to say for each slide into a computer generated voice, saved the mp3 files and attached to each slide. Game day came, I walked up, started it, then just walked out and got a drink of water, came back with a big grin on my face, teacher didn't have a good sense of humor. Aidan doesn't get to watch tv. Plus its fucking gorgeous outside. Lake? I remember in school teachers would talk about how the average kid watches xxx hours of tv per week, I was like "not me, maybe a few hours." Just didn't mention how much I was on the internet. I remember being like thirteen and started messing with visual basic, then 14-15 html, css, and eventually php. You guys could go bowling.

I use Microsoft Outlook which is actually a reasonably effective email program to go along with the calendar. Used it originally and it worked. Guess the problem I'm running into now is, anything that is synced between the droidx to xxx calendar program is first synced to google calendar then transferred to the xxx program. So basically google cal is still the middle man, just have to test if it'll work, if not we'll likely get a palm pre. And I always thought google was awesome.

Yes they do. On purpose. Owner didn't want them to be to overpowering or ear piercing to him. So I aimed them to reflect off the windshield and out the door more than hit you right in the face. In theory, it works. Makes sense, I think I would have picked that route if I was doing that many tweets! Door racks for amps are coming out nice.

Looking good, do the tweeters just bounce off or "reflect" off the windshield? Just wondered about the orientation.
