It will. The money just has to move here. Going to take at least another 20 years for it to be real mainstream, but its coming. Actually, it's the illegals bringing it here. Stricter border security, we must stop the spread of.............soccer?

Speakers for a RZR. Need the best all around sound from 6.5s
ssh replied to crazyj23's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I believe SteveMead has some Bravox 6.5s for sale in the F/S section. I believe they are brand new. ------ I'm not very familiar with the rzr, so I don't know what limitations you have as far as space for amplifiers and speakers. I'm assuming it operates on 12v battery 14v charge? Since your in an open environment it's going to be difficult to get any midbass punch or bass, especially when your cruising. I say you can end up with decent sound (loud vocals etc) but don't expect any bass or any impact from snares, etc. Using multiple speakers will increase output (so you can actually hear music when cruising) but will ruin the last possible chance of any sort of "stage." -

Yep just a tad. -

Don't we all. Basically you want the best speaker, you want it to excel at everything, with zero compromises? What's your budget? Mounting depth? I'm assuming this is coaxial as well? Your not going to get any bass from a 6.5" coaxial, perhaps if it was a dedicated 6.5" subwoofer (but that's pushing it)... When you say "RZR", I'm assuming a yamaha side by side? So the speakers will be in an open environment? -

Not to put anyone down, but you didn't reach 159.8dB with 25watts. Obviously you know that amp was a "cheater amp"... However I don't care how much power you use, if you manage to reach that mark, that's outstanding. -

Never used Ohio Gen so I can't comment on them. In my book DC Power is very good quality. If you need the alt(s) soon, perhaps DC Power isn't the best choice though. One of the employees at DC, Kyle, has a honda accord and one or two of their alts under the hood, with a bunch of videos doing bench testing, stereo equipment at full tilt and voltage, etc. somewhere on here: http://www.youtube.com/user/dcpowerinc#p/u -

According to the DC Power website, https://www.dcpowerinc.com/vaf/product/list/?category=%3F&year=23&make=145&model=724&engine=1538 They have a 270xp for $630 Hot Idle Amperage @ 200ºF 170 Hot Max Amperage @ 200ºF 240 Dual bracket, two alts maybe? I have no idea if there's any room for that sort of thing. ------- One thing to keep in mind, a lot of cheap H/O alts have terrible idle amperage and don't last very long. -

The only high output alternator company I have dealt with is DC Power Engineering (https://www.dcpowerinc.com/) They also have a forum on this site. Their alternators make "rated" power and then some. Very good build quality. Downer is: sometimes they have a long lead time and they are hard to get a hold of at times. I found the best way to get a hold of them is by email, usually received a response in a day or two. I've seen a few threads here and there where people ordered from DC and their alt didn't quite fit (had to do some minor grinding) or their wiring harness and plugs didn't match. I ordered one for my last vehicle, got it in about 45 days, wired everything up, worked GREAT. I couldn't complain about anything at all. It fit perfectly, I had zero voltage issues... I was running a saz1500d with no additional batteries, at full tilt my voltage would float around 14v-14.5v I've also seen people have good success with Mechman, personally I haven't used them so I don't have much input. 400 amp draw is a lot. I know DC Power makes a 390xp, if they have one for your vehicle that would probably be a safe bet. -
I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it's either another subwoofer or ring terminals...

Alternator and Battery question
ssh replied to slim142's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Depends on the engine type, mounting location. My volvo is pretty packed. Switching the alt involves removing the ac condenser, power steering pump, right wheel and cv joint. -
He bought a skar, so he must be a rep.

Alternator and Battery question

Depends on the vehicle. On my jeep it was a cake walk. On my Volvo its a pain in the ass. I think on the tc its near the top of the engine. -
Enclosure work is awesome. At first I thought you made the kick pods and like "hot damn that's sick" Tuned in for more.

I just sent Memphis an email asking for the specs. I'll post them up if they reply.

Never asked or was hoping you would.

Speakers should never mount on the door card, exactly why I was confused at why he was dropping them off. Until a baffle is in the door and you know how that is going to work I wouldn't do anything to the panels. If your goal was to glass some stuff on a reinforced door card then just use the components you have J. I'm definitely holding off on part of the panels, until I know what's happening. The new door panel is 1/2" MDF verse the stock 1/4" particle board. The plan was applying some resin to the panel (make it weather resistant & so fiber glassing will stick to it when the time comes for the speaker panel / pod), then wrapping the entire panel in pleather / vinyl.

I remember when this guy came to buy my jeep, he was very adamant about showing me how to unlock the doors on ford rangers. My neighbor had one and he kept saying "Here watch this, I'll show you real quick." "Uhh fuck no, that's my neighbors car not mine jackass." Supposedly behind the door handle there's a cover or something that can be pried off with a screw driver, then you can stick a flat head screw driver down a hole and wiggle it against some mechanism, then simply pull up on the handle... Never tried it. Crazy people to the top!

Alternator and Battery question
ssh replied to slim142's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That's true, but now your talking the cost of batteries & the cost of the alt... That's a lot more and likely way more then he needs. Each has it's drawbacks. I never played music loudly with the car off so battery reserve wasn't an issue. Having a 15lb alternator or what ever verse a hundred pounds or more in batteries was another plus. Good luck OP.
