To be honest I don't have any anti virus software on my computer. In the past, or for family computers I've used spybot search and destroy to get rid of a lot of shit. Worked pretty well. There was another software that was lightweight. It had a basic installer, you never saw the thing unless you started it yourself. Once started it connected to the dev. site and downloaded updates for new virus' then started scanning locally for any matches. I can't remember the name though, I'll try to google for it and post it later. Oh and the gui was yellow / gold, NOT norton, ringing any bells anyone?

My aunts comp is always utterly fucked because she downloads all these toolbars, plugins, and programs for watching free tv and movies. Fucking adware out the ying yang.
-
I've had good luck with spybot search and destroy. Biggest thing is, just don't download a bunch of random bullshit from websites, p2p networking, etc.
-
Yeah. So if you buy win7 and it happens to come with a norton free cd or some shit, just throw it away.
-
I agree shit changes fast, therefore I don't know shit about anything new. Only advice I can say, don't use Norton software, it's a mega pain in the ass.

I'd sad a pretty lousy week. The cpu fan went out on my fathers comp a few months ago. I thought I'd just order another fan but it was built into the heatsink. So order another heatsink and figure I can just pop the old one off and pop the new one on. Well the fucker mounted from the backside... Had to pull everything out, ugh. It's ironic how much I use to love computers and now one could almost say I despise them. (working on them, that is. Or the occasional family member going "hey you know computer stuff, fix my comp")

A lot of the testing I have seen, it did help the score. Were talking a few tenths though, so if your looking for the smallest gain for competing then try it. If this is daily then your wasting your time imo.

Oh, so because I choose to run my amps below 1 ohm I magically can't afford power for my woofer? Odd, I have over 2x rated power on it........ It's funny you bring up "I have over twice the rated power on it" as that's completely irrelevant, but that's quite an amazing feat, I commend you for that. My point is very simple, I don't believe in pushing equipment beyond it's limits. Sure the amp could possibly work for quite some time, but there is no arguing that the longevity of the amplifier is degraded. If I want more power, I'll take overall reliability and buy more amplifiers, not push it to the limit. -
Glad you posted that, Dem beats

Also assuming your wiring config isn't changing.
-
Im assuming the filters and gain are set equally. Assuming yes, I don't see why there would be any difference audibly.

I know your joking but I hope you didn't take any of my comments negatively. -
Okay man, I'm going to need your address right now. I'm going to do some early Christmas shopping with a rock, oh shit did I just say that out loud?! Tools always help, but YOU (or grandpa) made that enclosure what it is, awesome job man.

I know right. Everything put aside from Apple or any beef people have with their products, he was a pioneer, sad to see someone so great (in my eyes) die, especially at his age.

Why would you do that and why do you believe that? Curious how he tested the 200A at idle as well... So I wouldn't have to recone the btls.. But I might go with a different option, nothing is set in stone right now. Just weighing options. I could get an amp that does power at 2 ohms! Cost of recones VS cost of an amplifier that makes the power you want at 2ohms in comparison to one that does it at 1ohm. Power is the least efficient way to increase output, it's easy though. -

Why would you do that and why do you believe that? Curious how he tested the 200A at idle as well... Some magical fairy from smd probably said "Just add 0.2 to 0.4 to the og load." His website looks decent enough that you'd think he would actually go into detail about the alts. 200A idle at what rpm? and rpm of alt or engine, heh. -
Guess you can scratch it off the list now?

Lol. Okay guys I did it! Did what?! I watched some wnba.

It's one thing to do it for burps playing a sine wave where the impedance will rise and likely plateau somewhere like a logarithmic function. But music is dynamic and there is no telling what the impedance will be. It will constantly be rising and dropping, enough to put additional stress on your amplifier. Overtime it might just catch up and bite you in the ass. I don't claim to be "all knowing", nor do I have a firm understanding on the fundamentals of speaker design and so forth, but I tend to open my ears from time to time, and read here and there. -

Oh yeah everyone forgot about impedance and frequency... Silly us. -

That all sounds great, except for the 0.5ohm. 0.5ohm = people who can't afford to get the "power" they want at 1ohm. I guess it's one thing if your competing and rewiring for daily... Just my opinion, I'm sure a bunch of others will jump in here and say "I've wired my xxx down to 0.5ohm and haven't had any issues. blah blah blah. You just need a strong electrical. blah blah blah."
