Help me chose a 12" woofer...

I was simply suggesting that your port could be limiting the potential of the driver, regardless of the driver. Imagine getting a sports car, then placing a block of wood under the gas pedal. Now move the block of wood from one car to another, potential is still limited.

I can't believe people would actually watch a video of a speaker playing music to judge it's sound.

Internet took a shit this morning. Odd thing was, my own website server sorta loaded, and everything else didn't. I checked the logs on my router, and it had listed a DoS attack from an ip. Checked the ip, it was my own server. WTF? Few minutes pass and it shows another DoS attack with a different ip, checked a whois, belonged to my ISP. So what ever the fuck the router is doing to flag something as a DoS attack is just fucked. Even tried blocking my own server in case there was some script on it that was spamming the shit out of me, didn't do anything. Unplugged router, etc. Tried reset in web interface, no luck. Finally called COX, talked to this automated service which I have to admit was kinda cool, but it still didn't fix my shit. Finally got transferred to an Australian girl, and she reset some shit FTW.

Sounds like your looking for an excuse to buy another driver instead of improving on the enclosure.

    Buying stocks.

Except gold isn't an investment, it secures purchasing power. What do you mean, "secures purchasing power"? I don't know the prices for gold so these numbers are just an example. Say 1g of gold is worth $10, and you can buy a pizza for $10 Twenty years pass, and that same pizza now cost $16 due to inflation. Approx the same amount of gold (1g) will buy that $16 pizza. Your purchasing power has stayed the same. Can't buy two pizzas...

If your posting question such as this here, then your likely wasting your time, and likely money. You can't expect to just waltz into something you have no idea about, and come out ahead. At least read some books, and take some classes at local community college.

Depends on what the template looks like. Do you know html and css? Wouldn't take very long to make. Are you planning on buying a domain name, or going for a free hosting subdomain service?

    15 " DCON question

Over thinking it. A sealed enclosure in the SSA recommended specs should have plenty of output to your comparison, and sound very well. If the space is available, and your looking for a bit extra in output, then do a ported enclosure to their recommended specs, and as Aaron said above, tune to 34hz. If you do decide to stray from their offered designs, and do it yourself: if you select a ported enclosure, don't forget to account for the displacement of the driver, bracing, and the actual port, otherwise the net volume will be lower then planned for, and the tuning of the enclosure will raise.

I absolutely hating wrapping pleather, vinyl, etc. It's one of those things I'll be struggling with in the garage, and a neighbor could be walking by and say: "Hello," and I'd just be pissed and tell them to fuck off.

I just figured that's roughly how much I'd need to spend to get a decent rifle. I'm going to visit the local gun shop and see what they have for sale used. Then I can pick your brains later about scopes.

Indeed. Use to have the .17hmr too, but it and the 22 wasn't very satisfying. I don't plan on going through rounds like rambo. Likely shooting less rounds per trip, but getting out more often, certainly won't be firing it like a 22. I don't know how far I can shoot with just the iron sights, but the idea of laying down, and hitting something from even further away with a somewhat decent scope is intriguing to say the least. I'd be content spending under $450 for the rifle initially, and then perhaps another $200-300 on scope. I'm fine buying used. Honestly, I have tons of places and space to shoot. There's spots you could easily shoot over a 1/4 mile. I'd likely shoot every two weeks ish, going through maybe 50 rounds each time.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I'm going to go out on a limb here and if you are asking this question, you aren't plinking cans at 200+yards. Most public outdoor ranges don't go past 100, I've seen them out to 1000 but its not that common. For plinking cans, a Ruger 10/22 with insert random scope here. Tons of fun for cheap. For hunting, kinda depends on what you want to hunt, for just a few rounds a year, any ole .243, 30-06, .308, .270 will do. Everywhere I shoot is on state land with lots of space, and back drops, so I guess my point is, there is tons of room verse a typical range. I've had a 22 with scope, and shot shit as far as I possibly could. It was a cheapo fixed scope, probably 4x or so. I just want something that has more velocity and impact, so I can shoot further with better accuracy, and if I ever needed to use it then it'd actually have some punch verse a 22. Any thoughts on relatively cheap scopes? $200, depending on how much rifle turns out to cost. I know I'm being pretty vague, and wanting something that isn't exactly needed for my goals, but I figured I'd ask any way.

Guessing further then 200the yards, but I haven't shot at a range, and actually knew how far I was shooting.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Im thinking of getting a rifle and scope for plinking cans. Probably shooting 200+ yards. Can I get something decent used for under $500? Budget including scope for now. .30-60? .308? I wont be hunting, but id still like something with impact if I ever need it.
