Got the minidsp running, only fiddled with settings for 15 min before laptop battery died, but it sounds so much better. A lot more midbass, and the cones are barely moving. I may throw in an eq bump for kicks, and see how much more I can get.

madisound??? Yea, I know I'll have to mate to woofer with it... I'm not specific on that... Since I mainly want to get a good tweeter that can go lower.... Thanks, I'm gonna look at those http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/seas-woofers-6-7/seas-prestige-er18rnx-h1456-7-reed-paper-cone-woofer/ http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/seas-soft-dome-tweeters/seas-prestige-27tdfc-h1189-textile-dome-tweeter/ Yeah. I would definitely do some research though, as there may be other drivers better suited. -

No idea on either of those drivers, but your going to need to chose a woofer as well. Check out the peerless sls, exodus ex-anarchy. There's also a seas prestige with a reed cone 7" that comes in a kit with some seas prestige tweeters, so you already know those drivers can mate up well depending on the mounting axis and install. 6"-7" is probably about it to mate with a large format tweeter. 8" and upwards is going to be a bitch to mate. -
On the bright side, for what $3k got a few years ago can be had now for likely half.

Half the time the comp doesn't want to format my flash cards, so I have to plug them into my cam, plug the cam into comp, and then format.

That's the plan once I get some bearing on everything. Wondering if the rem out rated for 100ma will be enough for the minidsp, and two amps. Mine does two minidsp's and 3 amps. Searched for any local shops? Wasn't really sure what to look for/too lazy to arbitrarily pull out the yellow pages. Thought maybe there was a better way. Best bet is probably a google search. Don't know of any online places to ship to, and local would likely be faster, but they may also charge an arm and a leg.

Will do. Thanks. The app was a bit confusing at first but I got it figured out now. I have a feeling the stereo will sound so much better after a few weeks-the ms8 was too limiting. Also sweet they have the t/a with distance already listed. Figure it's going to be the last thing I touch, that and eq, but should be nice.

This minidsp app is the shit.

Steve sells the DD-1. Basically everything he does is to rip you off. Our Steve...not that dip shit. I was referring to the box size specs that Steve has on the SMD. Thought you meant Steve Mead was running an SMD, lol. Hopefully that is clear now. I figured the recommendation would be from AA/Fi, and has a lower end point for those that are going to run tons of power and burp shit. But wtf do I know, only speculating here.

It's usually been bitches in mid 20s-30s that are either gnarly skanks, or with kids, or just fucking OLD people. This time around it's 90% my age.
-
Doesn't make much sense to buy a driver based on it's rms, but hey, higher rms = better, right? I'm curious if you have modeled both drivers for comparison?
-
Speaking of which, I met someone. My age, no kids. Perfect.

Double posting cause she hot.

Sean what did you use as an enclosure for the isolator board for the minidsp? I'm thinking of either finding some plastic enclosure, or making something out of wood and foam.

Whiskey 3? Mcree. The whiskey 3 is a bit more.

I don't know if plane tickets have gone down recently, or I'm just getting lucky booking ahead. 270 for Tucson to San Fran, round trip.
