I haven't tried playing a single track with something distinctive to left, and distinctive to right. I have played a left only track, and the content is spread across all channels. I have played a right only track, and the content is spread across all channels.

I've done that. It will play left content on both sides, and vice versa. I've played a left only track, and it will play on both sides, and vice versa. I haven't tried playing something distinctive to left, and distinctive to right, hmmmm.

Cleared the unit. I tried: input 1 (left) = output 1,3 1=left tweeter 3=left woofer input 2 (right) = output 2,4 2=right tweeter 4=right woofer and it's still doing the same thing. With the balance set to zero: input 1 selected, music on both sides. input 2 selected, music on both sides. input 1 selected, muted = no sound at all input 2 selected, muted = no sound at all With the balance set all the way to the left: input 1 selected, music on both sides. input 1 selected, muted = no sound at all.

It's raining now, so not trying anything until it dies down.

They aren't grouped like you are reading it, look again... Just read that in the manual. So right now I have it mixed up, but that would still mean that muting input 1 would mute left tweeter and right tweeter, and the woofers would still play, and they do not.

i thought i remember there being some problem similar to this on another forum. might have been a problem with the plug-in. doubt i'll find the thread.. probably buried in someone's build log. might be worth opening a thread on the minidsp forum, seems like they responds to problems quickly. Yeah I posted earlier, and one person asked about the mixer settings, but im pretty sure that requires the mixer plugin which I don't have.

Okay I reset the dsp, and still no luck. Originally i did tweeters on out1,2 and woofers on out3,4. Then figured since out1,2 and out3,4 are already grouped together for the delay/gain/rms page, it made more sense to do out1 left tweeter, out2, left woofer, out3 right tweeter, out4 right woofer. Although it shouldn't really matter since you can switch tabs and edit any driver. Even if I mixed up the rca inputs on the amp, that would mean balancing to the left would yield some speaker to play, and to the right to do the same, even if it's flipped, or partial (tweeter, but not woofer). So as of right now if I got 15 to the L, it sounds the same as 0, and 15 to the R kills all sound. if I mute input 1 or input 2 on the input gain tab, then all sound is muted.

Did you end up going with that resume, or the condensed four page one?

I am the plan, I am the man who tells you what and when you can. I'm the old one that torments you. I am the voice that tells you to: "Don't get caught with your fingers in my pie. Mess with me and boy you're surely gonna' die. If ever you're in doubt about who or where I am. I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere. I am your Uncle Sam." Electric Uncle Sam You beg me please on bended knees not to sit among these enemies. If you feel like you wanna dance then step aside and take a chance. "Don't get caught with your fingers in my pie. Err, heavy whipping cream. not creamer
  14. Where are they mounted now, and do they screech at moderate volume?
  15. 5k, weird. What slope? Although even with something pretty shallow I'm still surprised. 24db as I didn't want it to play lower than 5k at all. :- That's bizarre.

I got a pint of heavy creamer to drink, and after opening the top, I saw a clump, so I figured I'd shake it to get rid of. Now I can't pour ANY out.

Reset the settings, I bet you switched how the inputs work. I'll try that in the AM. I bet you clicked: -mono mode -digital input -or you muted an output channel A reset will clear all three. Seriously doubt you mulched an input. I did mute an output channel for testing, but I swear I changed it back. Either way I'll copy the settings to paper, and wipe it.

Try dropping the rest instead of boosting Yeah I haven't done that yet, but at least in my defense it hasn't run out of headroom for power, so even boosting it sounds fine.
  21. I knew I probably shouldn't have narrowed it down to just those two tweets but it seems that my current setup I'm missing more than I should. Now excluding those tweeters as my only options, what characteristics should I be looking for in as tweeter? Lower/lowest FS? 4 ohm or 8 ohm? Highest sensitivity? I'm fully aware of compromise so I need to know if I'm just looking at this the wrong way. I'm willing to give up "loudness" for the rabbits I need our want. I can adjust the rest(EQ) to even out the sound. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the Re since tweeters can be loud on little power. Sensitivity somewhat similar thinking process. I wouldn't rely on EQ too much, it's nice for fixing small stuff, but don't want to be super reliant on it. Fs isn't a bad idea if your looking to cross in some frequency range, and the fs happens to be above it. Also nice if graphs are supplied with the T/S specs, or plug the specs into a modeling program. Other then that I don't have much good advise on picking a tweeter for xxx usage. For me it's sorta pissing in the wind.

Aside from that little issue ROFL, this thing is awesome. Tons of midbass. t/a'd and stage is better in driver seat, and worse for passenger, but not too many people are ever in my car, much less give a shit about audio. Bitches can't hear the music from the trunk any way.

Okay my brain is fried from work shit, but after messing with the minidsp, if I change the balance on the headunit to left, then nothing changes, and if I change it all the way to the right then there's no sound. Which would make me think one channel input is fucked, but if that's the case, then why is there still sound from both sides and not just one side. Also tried plugging the ipod directly into dsp, and that didn't change anything.
