I need some help. I know the btl is most powerful but is the xcon close? whats the difference between the 2? and is the bl fully loaded any competition with the BTL and XCON??

at the moment i have a hifonics brutus bxi-1210D. I recently saw on the ssa store front page the saz-1000D and also heard the sundown amps are rated at 12v which is awesome for me because I still have not upgraded my electrical, i will be just havent yet. My question is, will it be worth it to sell my amp for another that does around the same power? Isnt the sundown just a better all around amp? I just think its a little flashy and funny lookin haha.. Good amp dont get me wrong but I want an amp with 0gauge inputs kinda. I am running one fully loaded bl 15" and i think the saz would just be a better match.. does anyone know if the saz1000D has a bass knob? you know like to put under the head unit?

Doesnt really matter since you can run 1/0AWG in almost any amp nowadays with some trimming of the strands or just use a reducer. Im going with the sae-1200 thanks for telling me about it i wouldnt have seen it. it looks sick.

Yea thats what im going for the quality i just dont seem to like the hifonics and sundown is just so clean and just seems like a better buy for me.. and yea getting rid of the hifonics has been a little of a goal since i just got it because of the deal.. but i wont be loosing money selling it, and i will gain an saz1000D. Another reason for getting rid of the hifonics is i would never want to have multiple which i do plan to do some day soon, plus ill be supporting ssa!! a little by doing this. Ask somebody which sub is the best if its going in a sq install......... now ask the same for a spl install...... You'll get two completely different answers. None of their subs are absolutely the best all around, which sub is the best depends on your goals. The btl is the "best" if best means loudest..... But the Q is the best, if best means sq. That arbitrary statement of 3rd best is just wrong. Although personally the op does not sound like a Q buyer to me. jah thats kinda what i meant by what i said lol i just hate when i get jumped on for sayin one thing someone miss reads.. All i was saying is he is not going to be pleased going from BTL to Q unless he is taking "a break" so to speak from the crazy output of the BTL, so haha yea i dont think he's a Q guy either..

you are going from "The best" to 3rd best... Why? just order a new recone and be more prepared next time. with the time it takes for the stuff to ship that should be ample time to have everything ready you know.. but if a new sub is what you want then do whatever makes you happy... If you really decide to give up on you're btl pm me or somthing and ill buy what you have of it, if you are set on a new sub that is!

I just found my old x 12s in the garage and wanted to freshen them up a little with a recone for a friend, only thing is I really wanted to get the flat wound coils on the x's so they can handle at least 900 watts rms or close but the x series do not have that option.. Even tho there is no option for the FW coil in the x recone page would i still be able to have them do it? Or maybe use the ssd series recone with a flat wound coil, would that even work?? Is there any recone kit at all i can get to make the x's better? Better as in: handle a lil more power, have more than just a tiny single spider, integrated tinsel leads(no cushions on the cone for the lead slaps), and maybe some larger dust caps. Any help will be appreciated a lot! Thanks!

Im having trouble finding HU voltage, i havent had the unit long at all and already lost my manual some how.. Would it be the preamp voltage? Because if so that is 4volts.. Oh and yes my head unit has a lot of sub options with 2 option menus.. Menu 1 is just On, Off, or Reverse.. And then sub menu 2 you can go from 50hz, 63, 80, 100 to 125hz it also has the subwoofer level starting from -24 up to +6 and okay, but just so you know its only that hight cuz i have the bass remote and thats always at zero.. Should i still turn them down? And what about the phase and such? Thanks for the help guys!!

Hi there, I am not sure exactly what I need to have all my settings set at to run my bl 15" and need a little help.. The box is 4 cubes and tuned to 33hz, more importantly the amp is a hifonics brutus BXI-1210D, I need help tuning this for the bl! The amp has "level" or "gain" 9v-0.2v, "Phase"0-180, "bass eq" 0-10db, "subsonic" 15-35Hz, and the "lowpass" 35-250Hz. I need to know where to put the Phase, and Lowpass the most but if someone knows exactly how to tune everything feel free to tell me!! Thank you!

okay here they are finally sorry it took so long mang Dual 2 at 1ohm for sure (double checked) The box is 4.5 after displacement and all that good stuff and again at 33hz

Can you give us more of a description other than 'like it should'? I live on Lake Minnetonka, grew up in Moorhead. Alrighty my bad i shoulda been more descriptive.. Well the deal is that im not getting the lows out as much and the bass is tight and high.. I feel the power behind it and i can tell its got the punch im looking for somewhere i feel so close! The settings i have now are a little better but still i know i can tune it better.. It sounds better than the first night i posted but it can be more responsive to the low end bass and more controlled. And thats whats up man, mn is badass and beautiful i miss it sometimes.. I gotta go back and vised some time in the future like when i have a more reliable car haha. I have the pics finally but how do i post em?

I will try to get some pics up asap, but i have the dual 2 wired at one ohm im pretty sure unless i screwed it up some how.. and my head unit could be a big part cuz thats the thing i have NO idea how to tune and setup hah ive always just messed with it to see what works, i have a pioneer premier DEH-P310UB btw. width doesnt matter as much, but it is a tight space and height and depth matter I like how he just stopped replying. He asked you how wide you're trunk is mang come on now.. My max space was 33.25w, 17.5h, 24d at least for the sub to work properly. In order to build a box you need to know how its gonna fit in you're trunk.

But i will soon have an evo 8:) No. There are 360 degrees of phase in one full sine wave. I would guess wiki has a decent write up on it, read it, if you have questions ask. Well i have it all set up finally, just finished not to long ago. It just isnt sounding like it should at tho all and i have no clue why... kinda disappointing after all the extra time and money and ugh waiting for all the stuff i ordered to arrive too. Okay guys, heres whats up. I just got my Bl in FINALLY (100% worth the wait btw) It has all options including FW coil. Now what i need to know is it bad to touch the voice coil? Upon opening the bl's box, my friend said "the vents in the basket are so big you can touch the voicecoil" and then he did:( ikd if it matters though so can anyone help me out ? I mean he didnt like hurt it or anything im just unsure if like the fingure grease could maybe hurt the coil but I could just be trippin. Any help would be much appreciated ! Thanks

It should say on the website and if not you just have to wait till they are done with it and are ready to sell some. They will post on the site now and then when new things are happening, be patient and you will be rewarded with eiter x series ariving or at least info on the x series!

I have finished my box already its 4.6 cubes at 33hz so i guess ill base the sub off the box. The Xcon's can hang with most any woofer in the lowest of low frequencies. But I think the BTL is more what you are looking for. I think i will go for the btl with all ive heard it seems great for the price, and im already pretty pleased with my current fi 12s.
