Do you know a good speaker kill switch?
Randal Johnson replied to Truconcept's topic in General Audio
We use to back our trucks into the drive in parking places to chill in the bed while watching the movies ... They had those small speaker boxes to hang on your window like a Sonic Drive in trey ... My apologies, I did not know they use AM to broadcast their signals ... -

New Build - 1995 Cadillac Eldorado
Randal Johnson replied to ParrishElectronics's topic in Build Logs
Hello Chris, Welcome to SSA Very Nice looking Car !!! Can not wait to hear it ... Hopefully I can have a hand at helping you tune it. See you soon brother !!! -
Damn ... Almost forgot these !!! Thanks to the recent hail damage, my headliner has to be redone also, guess this is gonna be a great opportunity to finally install the sound deadner to the truck's roof too ... but got some "grainy spur of the moment" pics with the old blackberry phone of the front stage and the 5.25" component set in the dash ... I took the grille covers off for the pics ... and No, I'm not finished with the air conditioner controls yet, beings that my wife's car got totaled in the hail storm, my truck is our ONLY transprotation until we find her another vehicle so working on the truck has stopped for the moment ... Due to circumstances beyond my control, we had no tuning time for SBN, and had to turn off my door midbass drivers before the competition ... So I went through the MECA Moddex class with only the dash and the subs ... but scored suprisingly well ... Now we have the Linear Power X02 on the door drivers and Can't wait to try it again in Florence, Al 4-27-13 !!!

Got some severe hail damage the other day ... Hoping to get the body work started, We installed a fiberglass Cowl hood on White Lightning the other afternoon ... It's just mocked up, still gotta do some trimming, sanding, filling, priming, defacing, etc before paint and clear. Decided to take some pics to see what evey one thinks and it started to get dark, so I fired up the LEDS ... Sorry for the "Unfocused" pics ... LOL

I'm running a pair of 2 channel amplifiers for my front stage ... The larger amplifiers seem to have a lot more driver control, dynamics, and headroom than having a single 4 channel amplifier ...
-
I'm looking for mine ...
-
If you have the wire to spare, I'd run a pair of cables as if you was planning to run active from the start ...

I wish I knew more about those tweeter selector switches, but we don't have that option on our (Blues) component sets ... However, a friend set his CDT switches to "0" and everything seem to work fine ...

Awesome Ride ... Cool pics !!! -
Looks like a very nice component set. It has been a VERY LONG Pain in the ASS Day so I could be totally wrong with this, but this looks like your "phase" configuration setup illustration page. If it is, then this will be VERY Important for your "Stage and Image" ... The First illustration is there to show you how to set up your component set configuration to where the woofer is "in phase" with the tweeter. The second illustration is there to show you how to set up your component set configuration to where the woofer is "out of phase" with the tweeter. 180 degrees I think ... Both of these configurations connect to a 2 channel amplifier (2 way passive). However, It looks like you could set this up on a pair of 2 channel amplifiers or a single 4 channel amplifier, Just be very careful with setting up your phase choice. You will need to run a competition judging CD like "USACI", "MECA", or something similar through your system and make sure that your system is playing "in phase" ... This will most likely depend on your driver placement during installation. Most of the time (or in a "perfect world" application ... LOL), the correct configuration setup will be the top illustration.

I was getting set up this weekend for a small photo / Vid shoot of my new front stage, but guess that will have to wait ...

Dang, Sorry to hear about that accident. Everyone who is involved will be in our family prayers for sure ... Like what was said earlier ... Glad you are safe. Kiss your love ones cause I'm sure those families had no idea of what was about to happen. I cherish each and every one every day since the good lord let me walk away from that wreck a few years back ...

Funny because every mechanic I know, will tell you the exact opposite. When you can show me some fact, I will believe you. On our company Ford Bucket trucks, the problems that we've been having is the Liners in the fuel tanks were deteriating (comming apart) and messing up the injectors. Didn't seem to cause any problems for the fuel pumps ... Several of the trucks had to have the fuel tanks replaced ...
