My World Final's Demo from Sencheezy / SSA Evil
Randal Johnson replied to Randal Johnson's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Up until this point ... The only SSA drivers I got to demo was either not playing or Wide open SPL ...So it was really nice to actually listen to the driver on good music ... Those horn drivers were actually fun to play with (brought back alot of old memories) ... Wish I had more time with the EQ. I was gonna brimg the RTA meter with me on Sunday ... They got me judged early that Sunday morning so I had planty of time on my hands once that was done ... -

Randal Johnson replied to gentlejax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Never met the man, So I personally have nothing to complain about there ... But I really wanted to ask him a few Questions about one of his amplifier brands ...Maybe I can Catch up with him at SBN Datyona ... I had a good bit of bad luck on the way to the show ...I'm thinking maybe i should have stayed home too ... Me and a few friends have plans to make Scrapin the Coast this year (No USACI competition) to cruize around in the Low riders ... If all goes good I will see you there Brother !!! -

Randal Johnson replied to gentlejax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Where were you ?? I thought you Qualitfed for USACI World Finals ??? Yes Sir ... Saw plenty of smoke while making my rounds, and couldn't count the number of recones done in two days ... It seems like Tantric was one of the top dogs for Sub drivers this year ... put up some insane numbers 4 sure !!! -
SKAR amps...whats the story?
Randal Johnson replied to gentlejax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Had nothing to do with my post Sir, I tried to find the owner to ask him some questions about one of his amplifier brands ... but no luck. I'm not sure if he was at World Finals or not ... There was no Manufacturer's booth for them ... Again ... Considering that the thread title reads ... My post was primarily on the performance of the amplifiers during World Finals ... Nothing more ... -

LP won "Manufacturer of the Year" for the second year in the row (maybe third, not sure) ... So If Skar "did as well as LP" like you posted here, They must be doing really good then !!! I'm impressed ... Thanks for the info Sean !!! -

SKAR amps...whats the story?
Randal Johnson replied to gentlejax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
All of you guys that went to World Finals please clarify this for me ... I made my rounds through World Finals several times seeking out Skar Audio and from what I could tell about the product, they took massive punishment and done what needed to be done without ANY failures ... I'm not by any means a class D person ... But from my observation, those amps served their owners quite well this weekend ... In my years of car audio SQ and SPL competition, I would say those were positive results ... Then again, this was just my observation and nothing more ... -
Happy Birthday !!! I had something to give to you, but you left early ... Wish I had known, I would have give it to you saturday ... Anyways, it was a disc I made from my Chesky Records / Sheffield Labs collection ... How is the tune ??? Wish I had more time with it ...

Remove passive crossover and use adjustable one?
Randal Johnson replied to pmureika's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I agree with you here ... The X02 and the X04 works really well ... but the best one is the X03 This one, I do not ... Linear Power is the only brand that hold it's value longer than any other amplifier brand in the world ... We do not know of any other amplifier product on the car audio market that sells "used" for almost the same prices for when they were sold as new products ... They are VERY well built and work just as good 20+ years later as they do when they were new ... ... And almost all Linear Power products are capable of being repaired and modified with more "up to date" technology ... I do not know of ANY other product that does this ... Now please ... End this and help the op with what he needs to get his system set up instead of bashing products ... Thank you ... -
Remove passive crossover and use adjustable one?
Randal Johnson replied to pmureika's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
X01 ?? Did you mean a X02, X03, or the X04 ?? The X01 was the first generation crossover ... and if I'm not mistaken, one of the very first active crossovers ever built ... Not even worth my time ... Considering it's just your opinion -
Walling a vehicle 101 - any suggestions?
Randal Johnson replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I'm lost ... Do you drive a S10 truck or Blazer/Jimmy ??? Edit: ok, POS phone finally let me view your pic. I stand corrected and by my above post ... -
Walling a vehicle 101 - any suggestions?
Randal Johnson replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
If it was mine, I'd keep it below the window line ... Try and keep it small and simple with like 4 12s with somewhere around a 40 htz tuning with adequate amp and electrical and you should be fine for a starter ground pounder system ... Subs back / ports back Like Drew said ... The equipment is going to make up just as much of the weight anyways ... -

Randal Johnson replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
I will meet you at the biggest show / event of the year in 3 weeks to discuss this in front of the best Sound Quality vehicles in the world ... That being IASCA, MECA, and USACI ... ... But it does no good to discuss it here on SSA -
He had SSA for a short time (only the end of one season IIRC). He quickly switched to Sundown. He had the title with the Z.3's and now with the Z.4's.Hmmm ... Ok, thanks

I thought this truck had SSA drivers in it ... Or was it a truck similar I demo'd at 2012 SBN ???

Welcome ... Awesome Vid

I've seen custom dash covers work wonders with reflections along with precision placement ... Also ... Your Stage and image should be up and out on your hood AND beyond your outside mirrors (stage depth and width) ... Correct ??? I've seen (in competition) people with midranges and tweeters in the kick pannels (with tons of processing) get their stage and image in the areas of up and on the dash, but never out on the hood and beyond the outside mirrors where they should be ... then again, just my observation here demoing different vehicles ...
