what hertz is best for my truck??
VarinaBassing replied to kendall64's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
People do tons of testing to find the proper tuning to score high numbers. I know you will need to tune higher looking in the 40s maybe start at 40 even and work up its a try and try again kinda thing also firing direction will help along with proper sound deading lots and lots of things to try and change -
anyone have experience with these looking for how they react to port area do they like a lot or little ? i was thinking about running 2 of them in 2cube each box tuned to 34 or 33 htz with 2 4 in flared ports but using the aero ports 4in its either 2 which is like 6.25port area per cube or 3 which is 9.30 port area per cube Any advice will be welcome thanks reggie

thats what i was worried about but three is so much area i dont want them to go nuts or sound peaky looking for a relative flat curve dont you get this with less port area ?

site says 16.5mm one way or .65in one way

I love my four 10s they are moving so much air I a now a sundown customer for life

I thik with the big three your probably pretty good not sure size of her alt or battery but most are fine under like 1500watts

take a new wire and add the ground to each device one at a time til the noise is gone this might let you know which ground is bad

Ok i have always used areo ports and now i want to try a slot. I have used a few calculators and they tell me my length needs to be 23in long for the tune i want what length are they referring to? Overall length of the port ? Can some one please help lol I am looking to build a 5cube box for 4 sa 10s tuned to 35-36 htz I figured with the displacement of the subs and port i woul need a gross volume of 5.8cubes that would bring the net volume down to 5-5.1 right ? So far i have gotten the measurements from the calculator width-45in heigth-20in depth-14in. This box is going in a quad cab ram so i have space. Am i right with these measurements? and i am shooting for a mix of loud with some musical so i wanted to stay around 68-70 squared port area ? How wide should the port be ? I was thinking 4in but not sure And this is when that length deal comes into play... Thanks In advance Reggie

i never done a truck box but i read subs up port up helps to be louder. I havent measured i have a lot of room about 24 in high 48 wide and 20 deep if i need it
-
I was going to do subs up port up. I see wat your saying now But how would that work for me ??
-
the 12volt one so i would need it to go 12.5 in into the box? then that 24 is the board that runs along the back

I am respectful but i bump when there are people around I am prepared for the ticket and will bump to pay it and bump leaving. I turn it down at night and rd lights other than that its fair game. Like me coming throu for a min max is going to ruin somones whole day and if so buy ear muffs

well the ssf is fixed at 28htz which is a problem for higher tuned boxes I thought the rated was 600 my birthsheets says i am putting out 3303 at 1 ohm. But i just put my numbers into 12volt and it said my box is 6.4 cubes while re says 5.6 cubes i did a search and see re is off so back to the drawing board lol 12volt says y measurements should be width 44 height 20 depth 14

Ok i am still tryin to get the math down and figure out what would be the best overall enclosure . I want a wide range of response and to be loud as well. I know going with a high tune will most likely produce high spl levels but this is not a competion box. I am not interested in serious sq but want it to be musical and not really peaky I have some box specs and would like some help in deciding if the box will work for what i want width- 47in height- 21in depth-14in port width-3.5 port lenght1-9.75 port lenght2-3 port area -68 volume 5.6cubes tuned 35htz

rockford t2500.1bd i am getting a eq so i can adjust the ssf i have been told they can handle the power so we will see

Ok i m trying to get the best box i can for my tens i have been going back and forth on size and tuning. I just read the new thread saying about 1 cube would be good if you plan on pushing the subs i will be putting about 825 watts throu these for 10s. I thinking 35htz tuning. Should i aim for the 4 cubes or 1 cube a piece? low ? higher ? wats the displacement on these subs ? thanks
