imthebombticktick replied to M82a1snake's topic in Fi Technical
your a picture whore arent you? lol also im going for a daily driver wall build and its going to be 14-15cubic ft,. with 2 btl 18's 3000rms a sub. if thats helpful to you at all. My old system was 2 15in's running 2500rms and it slammed in 8.5 cubic ft at 32hz -
not really sure about the size but i would definitely go with some t-nuts and some bolts with a head that isnt in the normal bracket "phillips ,flat, hex, etc etc" and when i mean not in the normal bracket i mean security screws as such

Well all im waiting on is the second d3100 which ill have next weekend and im calling ohio gen for an alt right after i post this. and yeah those are audiopipe 30001d's but they are the newer model cea rated ones. i know not the cleanest power but should slam pretty nice. crap i forgot to throw in pics of the extra decals and fi hat i got with my 2nd sub since i waited patiently . I thought it was a pretty cool gesture, thanks fi.

hu is a pioneer avh-3200dvd. comps and the amp for the comps is undecided as of now, i dont wanna go balls out audiophile with them just something to keep up with the bass. its all going in a wall build. as seen from my other post. "The box is , 15.7341 ft³ before displacement 15.2141 ft* after sub displacement displacement port is 6 inches in height width is 29.224 inches length is 4.79 tuned to 32hz" the port tuning is going to be redesigned so i can do swappable ports since ill be able to fit a drill or whatever i need in the port to tighten down the bolts and fittings that will be there to hold the port in place. so im thinking a 32hz port for daily, 38ish for test tones/ and termlab. as soon as my babys back with its new trans among a bunch of other things the build begins. Noting the box is double baffled 3/4in. mdf all around except for the front in the sketchup pics thats due to the fact ill have a front plate that will go along with all the curves in the back to give it a nice smooth look. also in the back with a inset area for amps, and outset for batteries. also just realized its saturday and ohio gen is closed oops. -

Prototype VW Scirocco Spotted by me!
imthebombticktick replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Automotive and Performance
i know exactly what you mean, im about a 30-35minute drive from one of the testing facilities. Ive seen quite a few going around. My cousin told me him and his friends were driving around and one of the prototypes was out all covered up in black bras so they kept speed with it and started snapping pictures. The people driving the car got PISSED, the other "testers" or whatever were in another car and they started taking pictures of him and his friends and getting up behind his car taking pictures of his license plate and all that like they were doing something illegal lol. -
when you say "current " back orders. Does that mean all of them? I know im impatient , but if i ordered mine April 22nd do i fall into the middle of june category or earlier?

how does this look to you, wall two 18in btl.
imthebombticktick replied to imthebombticktick's topic in Fi Technical
man...i feel stupid lol. -
Ok so here's the deal. This is my wall design for my two 18in. fully loaded btls that will be running 3000rms a piece. I have never done a wall build before so I'm hoping i somewhat got it. EVERYTHING is double baffled 3/4in. mdf . In the 1st picture showing the front plate it looks double baffled its only supposed to be single " which i just fixed and im to lazy to take and upload another picture" due to the fact that there will be another front vanity plate to go around the curves in the car all nice and snugly. The box is , 15.7341 ft³ BEFORE DISPLACEMENT 15.2141 ft* after sub displacement displacement port is 6 inches in height width is 29.224 inches length is 4.79 tuned to 32hz.. does this sound right to you?. port seems a bit off to me, but then again i've never worked with some subs on the scale of these. Also i know this is going to sound stupid but due you factor in port displacement and take it from the volume of the box? etc etc.

So its 14.7281 after sub/port displacement. Seems good to me, on my post a bit back of one of my quick mockups someone said "Are you sure you want to go that large with all that power? Usually the enclosure is smaller if overpowering" when my original plan was to due 18-20cf. so this turned out good! -

Here is where im confused. i used PORT Size Calculations and Formulas for WOOFER and Subwoofer BOXES to calculate the port. i put in my freq. enclosure volume. then my width/height of port to get the length. So if enclosure volume has to do with the length of the port and port displacement has to do with the volume of the enclosure.. WTF its just a loop isn't it? or am i doing something wrong -

unless we are misunderstanding each other, all i see for displacement is for the subwoofers which is already factored in. I would do that type of design but im trying to keep my back seats. Thats why its got that slant in the back so it will go along with the structure of the roof. About the port displacement though i'm having a brain fart its almost 5am. When i go to calculate my port length i have to put in the width/hight/enclosure volume. How would i find the port displacement it just seems like a infinite loop to me. I also will be throwing in a couple of 1in. wooden dowels coated in fiberglass to help with bracing but i think the double baffle all around should be good with a good amount of glue and screws. -
i don't mind waiting to much since its worth it. I'm just hoping for some kind of ETA so i know when to start building up my wall. I don't wanna tear everything out and build up the new stuff thinking the sub will come in sooner and then end up bassless for a while.

i did the same thing and payed with my debit card on the 14th of april for my 15" BTL i don't know if i will recieve an tracking number im just ready to install!!!! i feel you man im in the 586, this as soon as this comes in im ready to build. got my amps,xs power batteries,300amp alt, and only 1 18 btl. I might as well start building the wall now so i can just pop it in the day it gets here
-
hrmm i might as well butt in here. I placed my order on April 22nd for a fully loaded btl 18in. Thing is though i payed with my debit card this time on your page, so I don't know if i will receive tracking/shipping information when that day finally comes...edit: ill just send the detail in an email.

imthebombticktick replied to imthebombticktick's topic in General Fi
ill hopefully have the second btl ordered soon. thats the most pricey thing left on the list. then just the 275 amp alternator from motor city reman since i live about 10 miles away from them. 2 more duralast marine batteries and then the fun begins! So im aiming at a month max till i got everything and the build log starts
