    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Too much work. Some D-rings for shackles, a copy of the OEM ones will be just what I need. My fiancee was in the passenger seat and I really do not want to roll over my daily driver. All the other Jeeps which passed there took a different approach when exiting. I was the first to cross and the spotter was an idiot. Or a mute... But I will still buy mud tires. Old ones were 10 year old retreads, I was afraid to run them anymore.

    Aero port idea

If you want to burp, just tune as high as possible and get a port as big as possible. I've had the best results using a 10 inch port for a 12 inch sub. It all depends on the room available.

Which reminds me, I need recovery points on the front. To spend $100 on stock recovery points or to spend a couple of afternoons fabricating something? hmmm....

I got stuck on the last Jeep trip. Mostly driver fault, as I tried to get out slowly and only slid down. But I'm still going to buy mud tires for such occasions.

A few days ago I took a look at my rear tires (they have under 200 miles + one rallysprint event) and the leading edges on almost all of the chunks are rounded off. I guess trying to accelerate out of a sharp turn on an open diff is not good on the tires Then there was the disappointment to find out my Miata does not have a Torsen diff

Rust is the only reason why I regularly wash the Jeep. Other than that, it has a forest patina and various dings on the bumpers, so it looks better when dirty or wet. As long as mechanically it's in top condition and there's no rust on the body, all good.

Next step would be to somehow rake up the money for new Miata coilovers. It's not much and I want it back on the road by April, when the weather is nice.

In other news, I proposed to my girlfriend during the ski vacation, so I guess we're really starting 2017 strong.

Same here... The nice white "Mercedes Benz" writing on the calipers would draw attention during a random test from the DMV, since these brakes are DIY'ed. Black black black

It's killing me, until we finish it I expect some rough months. Yeah, I want to invest in something, an apartment to rent out is a good option, it's close to the medical schools, where a lot of foreign students are. So it has potential, even it for the first few years the rent will barely be enough for the bank payments, eventually it will be a good basis for further investment, ie to remortgage for getting the down-payment on another apartment or for rebuilding the house, for better rates than what I got from the bank now for the down-payment.

I'm beginning to like commuting to work by bike in this ridiculous cold.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Effective yesterday I have become a home-owner. I made the downpayment and signed the contract for a 2 bedroom apartment, close to down-town. Once all the paperwork is finished I have to get furniture, appliances etc and then rent it out. It was all about location-location-location, better location, higher rent. But I'm so beat after these two weeks of running around for paperwork, negotiations, lawyer, contracts. Bleh. Ski week starts Saturday.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I'm ready. It's been almost two months of constant ass degrees below freezing. Except that Saturday when I worked with Vlad on his Miata. It felt like I was at the tropics. Don't make me throw stones at you, you're close, so I have a chance of being on target Take a break, switch it up. I can no longer drink home-brew wine, had a period when I couldn't drink beer either.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Saturday is going to be the warmest day of the year, so the plan is to get the Jeep ready for the ski roadtrip and help Vlad get his Miata back on the road.

Overflow reservoir on the Miata was filled with distilled water (silly me thinking it's part of the entire cooling system like in the Jeep), so it froze. I open the radiator cap, there's ice above the gasket (from the overflow hose). I charge the battery to start it, the aftermarket immobiliser doesn't work. After wiggling it's fuse it works, I start the Miata and let it get up to temperature and thankfully I see no coolant leaks. Of course all the windshield washer fluid turned to gel, so I hope that system is still ok.

Yep. Coolant crossover pipe failed. Idiot mechanic who worked on the car previously removed one of the two braces holding it and removed the rubber grommet on the other brace. Aluminum pipe rubbing against a steel brace...guess who loses? Easy fix though, spent $10 on a used pipe and braces. The rear Addco sway bar on the Jeep destroyed 2 sway bar links so far.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I'm "carsitting" a friend's 2004 Audi A4, so at least we have two functional cars. Once my friend finishes his garage and takes away the Audi I'm thinking about buying my girlfriend an econobox for running around town, going to work etc etc.

    1. Eibach springs are too low, so I want it taller and I've ridden in an identical car with V-maxx coilovers and it's so much better 2. Upon removal of shocks I noticed I need to do the brakes 3. Heck, while I am at it might aswell remove the control arms, sandblast, powdercoat and install new rubber bushings. All the suspension components are rusty and it makes the car look half-assed. Nice paint, no rust on the body and rusty suspension. 4. I've spent the last almost 2 months in France So nothing actually wrong, just some more finishing touches.

Elections are over. Left party won (boo), their slogan was "let's win Romania back". The right wing prime minister was portrayed as "sold to the EU" because he has been working in the EU council for a few years. Today the left party proposal for prime minister is announced. A muslim lady with connections to Syria. Way to go people of this country. I mean you need outside help to ruin this country further and Syria has experience. Yesterday two people from the left party, elected in parliament, resigned to make room for some other politician's daughter who did not make the cut to get into parliament and benefit from the immunity. She is accused in a case of tax evasion...on a contract worth $40mil..only... 10 days after the elections and things like this happen.
