I think they speak ratatalian there.

Yeah, I was surprised to still have suspension travel. The most I had was the flooring, almost 1000 lbs + 2 passengers.

Bedroom dressers in the Jeep (7 full sheets of particle board, all cut and ready for assembly) Thought about buying a truck, checked used Ram diesel prices...I guess a trailer is ok.
-
For parts purchases, the local Benz dealership was awesome for me. It won't be worse than an Opel Corsa.

I realised that one of my relaxation outlets was to zone out while doing seemingly mindless activities, like fiberglassing, making subwoofers, working on small detailed stuff, without interruptions and pressure to finish in the same day.

Kitchen furniture for the apartment should be here on Tuesday. Beds, kitchen table and chairs are on their way from Poland. Bedroom dressers should be cut and ready for assembly next week. If all goes as planned I can post the "for rent" ad before mid-September, to hopefully catch the student migration. It's been an uphill battle to finish the apartment on time, both financially and physically. Four of my vacation days were sacrificed to sand the walls, plus almost all the afternoons and weekends to install flooring, doors, shower, help with tiling, buying stuff, haul materials etc. THE END IS NEAR!

Yesterday I was driving the Miata to pick up the $100 Torsen and I thought...hey, I always wanted a restored old car and here I am driving it. I also borrowed a tuned ECU for the Jeep, I'm curious how it moves.

Get well soon! I'm glad we don't have such poisonous weeds here. Yes, yes and yes!
-
And in order to get the rest of the parts I need, I can convince my company to let me drive to France on my next business trip, so I will be able to get everything I need to have a running car.
-
Does it look like I have spare time? I have parts waiting to go on for years It helps that just an hour ago I sold the rear diff which I bought by mistake. So now I have funds to spare. And the October Jeep trip takes me 120 miles from the place of the Miata shell, so I could combine the trip. Auction ends Monday at noon.

A rust-free, rolling 2nd gen Miata shell (transmission, doors, subframes, brakes, part of the interior) is going up for auction locally. Starting price, $130, needs to be hauled away. With paperwork. And it's advertised on the local Miata facebook group. Cheap ($500-600) 2nd gen Miatas can be found in the UK, perfect to swap over all the parts needed. This is the perfect opportunity to get a rust-free Miata for $1000, registered.

Not when we go to Germany every autumn. Yes!

Bleh, I'm almost married, less than a year to go until the wedding. Plus whenever I'm in France I work until I fall asleep and repeat the next day.
-
Well, I spent almost 3 months total in Renault's engine/emissions development facility. Why do you think I go to France so often?
-
Once I can get $10k for the Miata, I'd do it.
-
Still, very tempting, especially in the context of owning a nice car with a V8.
-
Ah, I just remembered, the RX8 diff ratios are really high (numerically) so it would be interesting to see how an LS swap works. The Miata crowd goes for 3.6 and even lower for LS swaps. The RX8 has 4.77 IIRC.
-
We are starting to get that with SUVs. I still really really want a kei car for city driving. BUT!!!! they are now realising that the small boosted engines (like Renault's 0.9 tce) are actually worse in the emissions department in day-to-day driving. That's because the tests for the emissions numbers happen in a pretty narrow operating conditions interval. So some european manufacturers don't want to take part in the downsizing. Just wear it down Heck yeah!
-
That LS swap thingy would be nice, we can get cheap RX8's here. The budget and administration department actually likes RX8's and was convinced to agree to the purchase of a Comanche for going off-road. So I assume that a V8 RX8 wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get approval.

Congrats on the house! ! ! I'm almost daily-ing mine. Way too big I have the same car (different color wheels) in my backyard, storing it for a friend. It has a tune but I don't quite like the car.
