thanks right now i've got an idea of going with a fiberglass front. my neighbour's building a new house, so there's plenty of scrap iron bars (4mm diam should be enough) and i thought about reinforceing the front with a couple bars EDIT: screw that idea. i'm going with a solid mdf baffle.

i'm not thinking about removing it to reduce size. if i manage to remove it i'll replace it with a round one (simply for the ease of flush mounting), 1/2 inch thick, rounded over. just like in the pdf file in the first post

sweet. i remember that's where i got 7 and 9.

i thought you said you have an alpine 9887. that unit is capable of processing a 2-way active stage + subwoofer. no need for an external processor if you want a 2-way setup.

1. use periods and commas to separate sentences. makes it easier to understand 2. it's "components" 3. what kind of horns ? if you're talking about bass horns, you can forget about using a real horn in a car and why in the world would you need mid-bass from a bass horn ?
