Happy Birthday Penguin

Big-ass military helicopter downtown again, for a drill. It was here yesterday, it "dropped" some troops on 2 buildings. It sure made a lot of wind, I never expected it to be so difficult to stay under a helicopter.

Holy smokes, I found a hardtop in the country ! ! ! After I get back from Italy I'm buying it
-
HEH, it would be fun to get together with Aaron and do some AutoX The Miata will get even more stitch welding and bracing before paint
-
I got smart on this side and only cut the cardboard backing, leaving the vinyl to sit between the speaker and the mdf ring. BecauseRaceCar, stitch welding the door opening seam It desperately needs the tablet installed and a miniDSP. Hopefully I can balance a miniDSP and tires in May

Condoleances Thanks. Fort Snelling is a good place. The 21 gun salute is tough to hear/see but it is good to have some finality. I'll never forget 2006/2007. 4 funerals in 8 months, not sure if I could cope with that much again, if I hear about a funeral I keep far-far away.

Ermagerd. How is the LS1 lighter? LoL Seems like for a lot of swaps, not just Porsche's the LS1 is lighter Heck, even in a Miata it supposedly adds little weight.

Port flares for sale, 8" and 10" diameter pipe
Adrian_D replied to Adrian_D's topic in For Sale/Wanted
Yes, they are very similar to aeroports. I only make them for 8" and 10" PVC pipes. -
Werd. I don't drive my car daily or to work, so I might do the same as you. Liked the thread on Toyo Proxes T1-R That's what I have now but they are 9 years old and I've never driven in warm weather.
-
Yes yes Screw wear and mileage, I want grip
-
Then it's time for grip so I'm buying Toyo R1R's next month.

Miata plates are coming this afternoon. FUCK. YEAH. FINALLY. Gotta install the summer wheels and drive it's tits off today.
-
Spent another late night working on the Miata but I did get to deaden one door, cut the mdf rings and finish the steering wheel install. Now it's time to deaden the other door After seam welding the door opening and some deadening, closing the door feels more solid. Can't wait to take it out on the road, damn registration tax...

More or less same automatic as the 4 speed behind the Jeep 4.0, IIRC

Almost easier to find greek style here than normal....thank god. Drat! And if I leave the regular one out of the fridge to warm up a bit, it makes me puke

Seth, how much time did you spend in Rome? I have a trip planned in early May and I was thinking about spending a few days in Rome then a few in Naples or just staying in Rome for a week.
-
Why the F do products I like have to disappear off the market? I always had a fear the greek yogurt I eat at lunch will be off the market since people here are much too conservative to try something other than regular yogurt. Barely found any last week. Didn't find any this week.

Thanks guys. As it turns out, I can't use what midbass I have, since the left midbass is locked up. So I'll run Extremis in non-deadened doors, it's going to be noisy...And the HU outputs are sub-only, so I will use an Ipod for source until I install the tablet. But I did manage to stitch weld the door opening, minus the lower section since the sills will be removed for rust repairs. Curious to see if it added some rigidity.

Hot dang, I never saw the score until today. Congrats. Setup?

Moving forward... I finished up the amp rack a while ago but did not have time to post it: 250 grams, it's light I started the A-pillars on Saturday, these went easy so far: They will be wrapped in Alcantara once I buy some, so until then, a bit of black paint and it's all good: Next up: wiring and midbass install

My Jeep has had a bit of what I think is lifter tick, audible between 2 and 3k rpm. No lifter tick on startup though. I plan on changing the oil (it's a diesel engine) and I've been thinking about what to add to the oil before changing it to help clear up the ticking noise. I've read that adding diesel fuel or ATF to the oil, running the car for a few minutes, then changing the oil helps. It's an old pushrod design and taking the heads off to remove the lifters would only make me get head studs, which I don't want to do right now. What are your thoughts on this? Seth ?
-
I decided against flushing, going to change the oil in 1-2000 miles and switch to synthetic. Noise is still present, the harder I accelerate, the louder it is but it's barely audible when coasting. Will check injectors, pushrods, re-tighten rocker arms and if all else fails, the exhaust manifold comes off.
