And it was parked almost all its life under trees. There is so much black crud on all seams and hard to reach places it's unbelievable. Yesterday I decided to clean up the tank lid and that area, it was the messiest. It cleaned up surprisingly easy with engine degreaser and a brush. Engine detailing next, I want to have things clean before I change the timing belt.

Miata was in a front end crash about 8 or 9 years ago, fixed at the Mazda dealership BUT there is bad rust on the left inner fender, complete with holes where it meets the frame rail. Luckily I found somebody in the UK willing to chop up that section and sell it. Can't wait to start fixing rust

We have these for pull-ups at work: And it's funny seeing my co-workers cheat. Since I haven't had time for the gym in 2 months, I started doing pull-ups.

Finally found the time to fix the broken clip on one A-pillar. This is how it should have looked: My fix The screw head got some dremel treatment, filler and sanding, can't even tell I worked there. And I aligned the headlight covers Before After

Nice catch ! I'd love the Zapco if I could fit it under the seat. Wanna sell the PG MS-275?

Spent a couple of hours aligning the headlight covers on the Miata. They were bent and sitting very crooked, sticking out like a sore thumb. Slowly chipping away at this car Today I will repaint the seat rails, they are rusty around the mounting screws. Details are what matters

On the other hand, I did a short drag (rolling) against an ML 320 diesel and jumped a tiny bit ahead on the 1-2 shift Considering that thing has a 0-60 of 8.3 seconds, the Miata at 160k miles is still healthy.

Nice, I just put on a set of 275 R1R's. I could climb walls with those. On second thoughts I might have went over the road marking and that's what did it. But losing traction on a light launch around town, with the T1R's at 27, psi is not acceptable. And seeing a minivan with more grip is not acceptable. I need 195/50 R1R's in my life. Come on already driving school, pay for the darn website.

Would love to see some more.Does the daughters beetle have a different colored rear bumper or is it just the lighting? J It was hit in the rear, so the bumper is new. The rest is just sun faded. Almost mint chip color. Gotcha. It kinda makes it pop IMO. J We were going to wrap it, but that has yet to happen. When you drive the beetle you get all kinds of attention, but it is the trucks drivers that are funny as hell when they see me driving. If you do it, let it be someone else's headache. This is definitely something applicable in many situations

Uhhhh, pretty lights

Damn rotted out Toyo T1R's. I was coming home from the "in-laws" today (might I say they have very good wine) and I was chasing a minivan up a slope, wet road and in a hairpin the Miata over steered bad. Minivan was going just as fast. I need tires bad. A fucking minivan had better grip.

I know Sean loves France, but I fuckin hate the country and the people. The galleries are awesome, the food is good, but nothing else is, IMO, worth a fuck. Rome is so much nicer. While it is totally commercialized, the reality kicks ass.I had no interest in Rome or Italy until recently. Maybe Tuscany would have been on my list. Only 3 things in Italy that I love, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Wally. From what everyone has said though I may love Italy more. I have a week in each, so we shall see. :-) I need to book an apartment soon though. We leave in 10.days lol. I've seen a group of american tourists right when they arrived at the Pantheon. All they could ask was "Is this the Colosseum?"

Rome was $200 / week / person. 4 people in the room, clean hotel, with breakfast. Damn. I usually get an apartment from Marco Umbaltini about a block from the Colosseum on Via LaBicana. I pay ~$1400 a week, nut it is 3 huge bedrooms with 3 baths. Nice joint, good people. 'spensive... This was almost at the end of the bus route 49 IIRC. Get off the subway at Cornelia (red line) and there's a short walk to the bus station. Pretty far from downtown but with the 24 euro unlimited ticket it was easy.

Nice! Reminds me of when 2 guys asked me to put 1 loader-full of sand in their VW Transporter. First half was in and the suspension bottomed out.

Go, Brad, go ! I really like the fiberglass work, nice and solid rear, lots of layers.
-
How is the e-brake setup on Wilwoods? Is it the inner drum style on the rear hubs? No idea...so I assume it works as stock since it was a kit made exactly for my truck. I've assumed incorrectly before. Or a combination caliper like I have on the Jeep and the Miata. Really curious.

Nice work Neal

I still make these and the price is the same as in the first post. -
Fucking cold, I can barely function at work

I just found out I can apply epoxy primer by brush or roller. Looks like I'll be fixing the rust on the Miata the right way after all. Anything that is visible will be the painter's job to fix though. I don't want to give him a hard time redoing my work.

Been medicating myself for the past two days, I'm leaving for Rome on Saturday and I don't want a sore throat to fuck up my vacation.
-
Serious case of sore throat. "Nah, man. I'm pretty fucking far from okay"
