Finally found a road bike. Reynolds 531 main tubes and fork, complete and ready to use, for $70. A bit more than I paid for my mountain bike. Good part is these bikes in good condition sell for over $250. A friend should pick it up today and send it here. I'm stoked !

DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs

Figures that's the problem. Any roof flex when burping? I'm also curious how it holds up when you build the low-tuned wall

Damn, don't know how I missed that. I've got a ton of that stuff to do the roof of the Jeep. As far as I know all competitors in Europe swear by it.

The water-oil cooler in the Jeep took a dump. Heads had casting sand in them and a couple hundred miles after the install I started noticing oil in coolant and oil temps were a tad higher than before. Typical Ford 6.0 oil cooler failure symptoms and even causes, I think) Fast forward to last week, I remove the radiator to change it and flush the system. Normal radiator flush does nothing, I step up to washing soda solution, which works a treat. But filling the overflow bottle and running the electric water pump (pushes from overflow to water pump input and further to radiator output), a lot of oil keeps coming out. Oil cooler output is very close to water pump input, so it makes sens there's a lot of oil there. Yeah...time for another oil cooler. It's a very uncommon failure (headgasket has no oil passages, heads are very thick where water comes close to oil) so I ordered a used one in working condition.

Took the radiator out of the Jeep yesterday. About a quarter of the fins were corroded and turned into dust when touched. It's getting sent out today to somebody who builds Aluminum radiators. Old core is 1.5" thick, I'm going with 2.5" thick for the new one. And it seems like there is a lot of crap in the cooling system, probably residue from the new heads, even though I cleaned them out with gasoline and diesel. I'll just put a big hose in place of the radiator and run it with some cleaning solution a few times.

I average 14-15 so I assume I can get to 20 on straights where I'm in the highest gear and cadence is 50-60. Any sort of front wind kills me, skinny tires and no fenders should help. Current tires are slicks but the front is fat, the rear is skinnier. Yeah, I'm thinking I can buy it and then sell it if I don't like it.

To buy a road bike or not to buy a road bike for commuting? My current mountain bike has 2.0 / 1.75 slicks (front/rear) and I can average around 14-15 mph. And there are stretches of road where I run out of gearing. Only about 200 yards of rough road. I found a complete bike built on this frame, for $100, ready to ride. And in the right size. I wonder if I can make my commute faster, as I've never ever ridden a road bike. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/55-cm-Vintage-Motobecane-Super-Champion-Motoconfort-Road-Racing-Bike-EXTRAS-/310962578785

The Sunbeam and the Pantera YES the rest WTF?MR2 is allowed also.914 > MR2How could you possibly know? I barely fit in the MR2, so I know there's no way your giant ass got in there. They made that car for little Asian chicks only.I used to sell Toyotas. So yep, not only have I driven one I've had others test drive them. Ugh. POS.Okay, now this is something we all must see! This is definitely a case of 10lbs. of shit in a 5lb. box. It had to be a vert, but still, your knees had to be in your mouth. The guy I bought the Miata from was 6'2" and still fit. Barely.

The Sunbeam and the Pantera YES the rest WTF? MR2 is allowed also. 914 > MR2 Really? I have never been in a 914. A few buddies had MR2's. Most of my friends were Asian guys while in school. The 914 is fun and easy to make power in. So light and the powertrain is in the right spot. I suppose you "could" do that to the Toyota, but meh There's something about mid-engine that tells me "really difficult to work on"

The Sunbeam and the Pantera YES the rest WTF? MR2 is allowed also. 914 > MR2 Indeed. If you ignore the Cappucino's look and size, it's actually interesting. Light but a bit underpowered. Nonetheless, I wouldn't drive something smaller than the Miata. It's tiny compared to the cars here. I can't imagine how small it is next to a full-size truck.

Oh sweetness, and people complained it's difficult to remove the starter in the Jeep: remove exhaust manifold, remove turbo and downpipe and presto. Remind me NOT to buy a VW/Audi Fixed that for you. Ah, yes, you are correct

Dad took the Jeep for the 2-year inspection and the guy there was surprised of how well it brakes. And that's juts with EBC yellows and rear discs. I'll get some new brake hoses and it should improve it even more

With some accents white could be nice. Solid white (as is nothing besides rims and tires) just screams 'break my mirrors' to me.J I really like the monochrome white look. Adrian, I have been on a white kick lately too. Never been a fan of it but it makes the Miata look newer. Simplest easiest white should be cheaper and easier to detail / touch-up. Black is out of the cards. It gets plenty hot in the summer, I don't want it to get hotter.

White is starting to grow on me: Wouldn't be too much of an issue to find those rims or something similar with a nice lip. I will have to paint the entire car either way. White looks a bit more refreshing than metallic silver, seems like scratches are not that easy to see too.
