Well screw'em. But I did remember the Grand Cherokee has a 5-speed (and turns over 2krpm @ 60mph), while the Ram has an eight-speed transmission. Anyway, I'll do a quick fix on my Jeep (another stock turbo) then buy the parts needed for the VNT upgrade. Might as well keep it as I've changed almost everything that can fail.

How the heck do they manage 38mpg? It's a damn truck with a 3.0 diesel, it's heavy, it's not aerodynamic. I looked at the 05-08 Grand Cherokee, similar engine but it won't go over 27mpg bone-stock. I bet it's a tad lighter than the Ram 1500.

After the turbo failure I'm re-evaluating the Jeep... In the years I've had it: New heads New custom radiator Oil cooler setup New rear springs Addco swaybars All maintenance up to date it still requires a new turbo (either a rebuilt stock one or a used VNT turbo off a newer car), an A/C condenser and a better intercooler. Now, with all those things changed, I just about covered everything that could fail, apparently all other expenses would be maintenance. And I'm still stuck with an old Jeep. Not much electronically that can go wrong and leave me stranded but not extremely comfortable. Hooray for cool factor Seeing the price of 2005-2008 diesel Grand Cherokees, I thought about selling my Cherokee and buying one of those... 10 years newer Much more comfortable More power Huge knowledge base for everything, including the engine Mercedes diesel and transmission WORSE mileage Very capable off-road, for what I use it, bone-stock, it's better than the Cherokee. $600 yearly tax (double of that for the Cherokee) and possibly higher insurance. If I keep on top of maintenance and fix known issues preventively it should be a very sturdy ride. Seeing the European Union concerned with emissions, who knows what the heck is going to happen and I won't be able to drive my Cherokee in the next 4-5 years due to strict emission laws. The Grand would be much better emission-wise (not that I care about being green). I'm kinda emotionally attached to the Cherokee, it's a nice ride, rust-free, interior is perfect, paint/outside looks good. With a new VNT turbo I would close the performance gap to the Grand.

Oddly enough I was just looking at cams for the Miata. For the same cash I could get a Megasquirt. Santa better bring me a Megasquirt.

Time is speeding up..... Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. June and July flew

I got the bike yesterday. It needs a brake upgrade and a bit of TLC. Other than that, it's ready to ride. I already maxed out the gears riding around the block

I wouldn't worry about springs unless your lift requires them. You won't be winding it out much higher than current redline so I don't forsee a lot of float. Pushrods, not really. Cat and exhaust are suggested with the hairdriers. Better flow after the blowers and short tubes before have always proven optimal. Not sue what the feed adapter is. Is the requirement based on a resized pump feed inlet? In your opinion, a log manifold for a DIY turbo kit would be a good value option? Most likely built by me after seeing how easy it was to weld some stainless exhaust tube (I want to turbo the Miata) Turbo's are pretty forgiving. Just want them close to the exhaust and sized appropriately. Considering your motor size you can get away with a used diesel piece. Plenty of reasonable chinese intercoolers on ebay too. If I had time/skills to make something I would, but I don't. Plenty of people upgrading their Subaru turbos here, sourcing a turbo is the least of my concerns Christmas gift to me will be a Megasquirt. DIY PNP probably. Run that N/A and turbo it once I feel comfortable.

Indeed. When I brought home the Miata, dad was with me (so we can both drive) but he had sever pain because of hemorrhoids. The trip was a complete mess.

Ski was killer on the legs.

I see no point, so no.It will help your abbs pop. Also helps with bone strength. Has more health benefits than cardio and is easier on the joints than running. I HATE running. Absolutely hate it. When I try to run somewhere I think "hmm, if I had my bike, I would already be there, with less effort"

Bitchin' An inch lower for sure.

A 531 frame is worth more than $250 My friend is lazy and didn't pick it up yesterday. Damnit. Time to call a customer who lives there and ask him to pick it up. It's 60 miles away and for once, I'd rather not drive there to get it. Would be a bit uncomfortable to carry it in the Miata. Same bike as this, minus the rear derailleur, which is a newer Shimano http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PUCH-Mistral-SE-Reynolds-531-Rennrad-Vintage-Road-Bike-Campagnolo-Weinmann-Alesa-/380610511693
