Wait, new pussy? How did I miss this one? Huh? I've been with her for a year...
-
As Christmas gifts from me to me, I bought an Intel 520 120gb SSD and a Radeon HD7750 low-profile video card.

Girlfriend drove the Miata and she was impressed by how nicely it handles Now she knows why I always go fast in turns.
-
Hell yea!! Never tried the plum brandy but it sounds nice!! It's great, you can get really drunk without a killer hangover Every morning before breakfast: "Adrian, would you like a cup of good spirits?" Hell yeah, I can't let somebody drink alone
-
Yep, it was. It always is when we visit, since depending on who's there discussions range from mechanics, construction work to fishing, brewing alcohol and even philosophy.

Good way to necessitate a valve job. Why is it bad to run open manifolds?
-
On a happier note, I spent Christmas with the girlfriend's family, which involved drinking lots of home brew plum brandy (a bit over 100 proof) and red wine. Quite an enjoyable 5 days.

I think I found out what killed the old Jeep. Aftermarket heads had injection chamber pre-cups installed badly and one of them fell, taking out piston #3. That's why the engine was shaky, had no power and was very smoky, not a lifter as first suspected. Pieces from the head and piston probably got into the turbo and killed it. More carnage pics to follow. I'm really curious what the maker of the heads has to say. I will bad-mouth his product all over the interwebs.

Plenty of guys are tracking with out the rear bar if they have a big fatty bar up front. Sway bars on mine are stock for now.
-
Gah, sway bar links and bushings are in the garage but no time to install. I've ran the Miata without the rear sway bar, it's "fine" in the city but when I passed someone at 60mph it was scary.

SSA / AccuWave sound pressure meter
Adrian_D replied to Adrian_D's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
As Aaron said, they will be available soon. It's not a coincidence they are branded as SSA Pressure range: 115 to 180dB Frequency range: 10 Hz to 100 Hz In testing we have seen them within +/- 0.05 of the TermLab, with better repeatability than the TermLab. -

We have something in plan for that. Not what is expected but it's going to be helpful for Iphone users USB is definitely out of the question, we don't like cables. -
You break more shit on your shit. I could use you as a customer... that way I could retire by mid 2015! At least I crossed off all the engine related maintenance items

The last week I started having a clunk from the rear of the Miata. Turns out one of the rear sway-bar links broke, nice...

My plan for the new Jeep: Note2, 1 miniDsp, PPI i350.2 (full-ranges), PPI i520.4 (midbass), Zapco for the sub (using it's on-board crossover). Cheap, not exactly simple though. Miata was way simpler: tablet, PPI 900.4, done.

Took the Jeep in to have the bad start fixed. Turns out it was an injector leaking. Service people changed it and they should have changed the hold-down bolt, since it's torque to yield. They didn't since for some reason the new bolt bottomed out too soon. According to them, it's ok, this is a very very common operation on CommonRail diesels and they are the authorized Bosch service in town. Hopefully all is good despite reusing the bolt.
