    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

That's just stupid good luck that dude still had it after a year. Vehicles are a labor of love for us to go though so much to get them how we want them. I can't see bigger brakes being a bad thing either. IF I pull the trigger on the painter I have lined up, I should have it done in 3-4 months. We stall see who wins as anything is possible. The body guy told me to call him after Easter (this weekend). I have to strip the car as much as I can to make it easier for him. A realistic goal for me would be to have it ready for paint before you finish painting it

And in another stupid stroke of luck, I found the rear Addco sway-bar for sale. It's been backordered for quite some time new but I managed to find a NIB one on a forum add which was almost a year old. Bilstein 4600's also coming up at the same time as the Addco. 5100's are valved too hard for stock weight. upgrades

That is one beautiful thing about jeeps, parts are abundant. Good score! Good Jeep calipers = $70 Benz S-Class calipers = $45 Picked up both yesterday and the Benz ones are lighter. Not much bigger but hooray 4-piston, the only bad part is I'm missing the pins which hold the pads and a metal clip. Should be cheap at the Benz dealer. Really curious on how the brakes feel after the upgrade. Going from 12" to 13" rotor, 2 46mm piston calipers to 4 piston (2 40mm, 2 44mm). After rotors and pads it's the same price as regular brakes. So win-win.

Time to do a brake job on the new Jeep BUT...I have the bad caliper design. While browsing ebay for the good calipers, ebay suggestions shows some Mercedes 4-piston calipers. 10 minutes later I spend $50 for 2 S-Class 4-piston calipers, made by Brembo. They need bigger rotors, which fit perfectly from a newer Grand Cherokee. S-class pads + new GC rotors are the same price as rotors + pads for the better designed calipers. Not to mention the better designed calipers are more expensive. Yay better brakes

Don't forget the pics!! All pics are hear http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/54584-nems-evilinator/page-63 Now everyone knows what a manly man you are working on that in the snow. jk I was committed after I did the rear springs and the snow started to lay. I could tell you many stories from my younger years working on vehicles and tractors on the farm. They seemed to work great all summer, but as soon as it snow and got cold they all broke. That's stupid. And it always happens, the starter on the Jeep decided to quit on the coldest day of all winter.

All of them are phd types (just that they don't have a phd). Graduated then straight up started working here. Teacher's pets etc etc When I bought my skis, at a 1/3rd of the price they paid but just as high end as theirs, the "experts" shrugged. When they saw what I bought their faces were priceless.

The more I learn the more humbled I become and the more I understand I know nothing. I feel I'm a pragmatic expert in sales at this point but the constant application of the highest level of my craft is still so difficult. When discussing technical information, anecdotal or otherwise on subjects I know I have vast experience in I spend more time learning that doing now.... The period where I felt I knew everything was so short lived, and I'm so thankful for that. One of them just bought a car. Imagine generic overpriced shitbox. When he bought it, he was happy that he did not buy another one which the seller claimed had xxx miles but somebody told him the interior looks worn out. We get into my car, his words: "How many miles does it have? Oohh, I bet it has much more, the seats look worn, the levers look very worn out"

Just like some colleague who bought his first car, now he's an expert in evaluating the mileage of a car based on interior wear and tear.

Trying to get the Jeep to powerslide is not fun. Silly viscous central and axle diffs make it unpredictable.

old'ish news http://theksmith.com/software/hack-vehicle-bus-cheap-easy-part-2/ I hope everything goes as planed and I will have steering wheel controls on the Note 2 in the Jeep.... Wired that is easy, are you planning wireless?Wireless through OBD2 scanner. Also working with Vlad on an USB - I2S / SPDIF interface, he's already buiit the SPDIF version for his Audison Bit One. Chip change + some redesign. That way I can have I2S digital audio straight into the MiniDSP, in both cars. And YES, time for Timur on the Nexus. Timur on Nexus also means I can get MegaSquirt droid for when I MegaSquirt the Miata. Yay for tuning from the tablet. Remember us when you make your first million. If only.... All I want is to get the cash to build a nice house and I'm set. Anyway, Vlad gets credit for the communication idea. I just hope we all have time to build all the crap we want.
