Saturday was brake swap day A bit off-center because I wanted to use a 10mm adapter plate, for strength Today I will sort out the brake lines and then it's time to test it. The to do list for the Jeep just got much shorter.
-
Figured out the brake line setup on the new brakes. All I need to find are 2 M10x1 banjo bolts. the hard line next to the caliper will get cut, bent where needed and then brazed back in place. I'm going to machine a face for a banjo bolt on the Mercedes calipers. Should be pretty easy. Really concerned now about the adapter plate. Saturday is install day

Thanks for that. I have a tick (louder when cold), under even the slightest load, took a look at the manifold and the furthest manifold bolt is gone. And that's where the EGR port is, so besically it's like 2 ports don't have a bolt. I sure hope that's the culprit. Figures that when I build a new downpipe, I can take off the turbo, manifold, change the bolt and tap the manifold for an EGT sensor. Same one on mine, was surprised it didn't do it all the time. Glad it wasn't in the valvetrain....in particular since I am about to throw some more air at the motor. Yup, I sure hope it's that. I see no sign of smoke next to the bolt. But I've seen pics of LS broken manifold bolts and none of them was smoky. Pretty unusual for engines like mine to have valvetrain noise. They rack up in excess of 500k miles in Sprinter vans.

Nice...fucking cars....

I am going to run active. I found a solution to use OTG and change on the Note2, so I'll be building the USB DAC. Digital signal over I2S into the MiniDSP and DAC analog out for the sub. I ordered the MiniDSP today I don't need anything special processing-wise for the sub, the Zapco has an LP filter. All I'd have to add is a pot on analog out of the DAC to control the subwoofer level.

Only real reason not to is to not cut the stock wires or if you need more, ie running active and needing 2 pairs instead of a single. I also have to say I don't understand not running active....which means running new wires. Fullranges in dash - factory wires already there. If I want to move them to the A-pillar it's no problem Midbass in front doors - factory wires already there. With the way everything is laid out, using the factory wiring is the easiest option.
-
But I should just buy a good quality USB cable and call it a day
-
If I get real clever I could transform the factory wiring from the head unit to the amp into my USB cable.
-
Why would I not want to use the factory speaker wiring in the Jeep? Factory wires run from under the rear seat to front and rear doors and to the dash. I want to install my amps under the rear seat. I'd just have to run positive power and a USB cable. DONE. Rated power for the amps: 2x115w @ 4 ohms (full-ranges are 8 ohms though) and 2 x 200w @ 8 ohms for midbass.

Holy crap, glad to hear she's better now

Sunday evening at 10:12 PM I get a parking violation ticket. Obviously somebody was pissed that they did not fit in the 5 feet of sidewalk next to the Jeep and called to report. So awesome, I love people who call to report parking violations. I have one office co-worker that does that, and he's so proud of it.

Happy belated birthday Matt ! !!

:woot: Congrats

Second day after I take it in, it rains, so I have to take the Jeep to work. I knew the rear wiper was fussy (typical problem) but I thought I fixed it by greasing it. No luck, it got stuck, I kept insisting with the switch, maybe it works. Hopefully I did not burn the motor. I need to take it apart this weekend and fix it.

Jared, the Miata is at the bodywork guy

About 2 weeks ago I installed the squat rack in the office. Adjustable heights so it can be used for benching. Today I'm starting to use the weights and dumbells we bought, since the afternoon isn't going to be so full.

I'm programmed to program !

And vegans or people who do cross fit. Vegans who do crossfit

The competition over the weekend was a lot of work. 29 cars total, 15 did average 30 seconds music run. Saturday there wasn't a huge crowd for the drag race and the competitors could come to the tent for scores. Sunday it was hell and we were going back and forth to get everyone registered, explain how this whole SPL competition works, find the peak frequencies and then get an official score. In total ~ 20 hours of work, the meters were awesome, the live app was helpful for everyone.

No glitches. Fingers and toes crossed.

I think you are winning at this point. Not sure how long it will take the bodywork guy to finish. Just when summer starts I take my convertible off the road. Sure looks like good timing
-
I like that plan. And it reminds me, I haven't used my moped in forever, I need to clean it up and sell it.

Looks like AccuWave metered competitions are going to be the season starters this year. 2 competitions at the same time, at one we'll be using the new competition application.
