    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Had a family party for the 4th of july I have only called in 3 times in the 2+ years Ive been working thereI would probably write you up if you refused to come in for a shift you had been scheduled for. Don't agree to work if you can't/don't want to. Depending on if you lied about not comming in I would fire ya actually.Did you find someone to replace you or did you pass that buck too? You are a smart kid, don't let a shitty work ethic spoil your future. For the record, the amount of times you call in means so little. If you do it once when you are needed, it destroys any credibility you have earned. Yes someone filled in for me.And about the work ethic, I dont think any of you guys would be thrilled about working at Burger King for minimum wage, not making an excuse, just saying that it is not a "cool" job to say the least I see a ton of things wrong in the way you think.... 1. It's a holiday, if everybody made their plans in advance and the schedule was clear cut, you ended up changing other people's schedules and that's not cool 2. What do you do there to make more than the minimum wage? Is it really something that deserves more than minimum wage? 3. Apply to other jobs. There is no excuse. Day to day I hear people complaining about their minimum wage job, yet when they want to apply to a better job they lack motivation, they act like self-entitled potatoes. So, quit yer bitchin, suck it up and turn the ambition to 11 if you want to get somewhere. ...but....but.....but....he is California entitled. Seeing that you were flying to LAX I thought you would comment on California when you saw my post

Jeep install adventures continue: I bought 2 isolated DC-DC converters, one 3A to charge the phone, one 300mA for the MiniDSP. Alternator whine is gone but I now notice that there is constant noise, which I assume it's from the DAC. Curious if the Moto G has the same noise. Second problem is charging. Even with the data pins shorted, maximum charge current with the 10ft extension cord is 400-500mA, same with a short and thin cable. Using a short and thick cable I can charge to 1800mA maximum, which is what I need. I KNEW I should've cheaped out and built my own extension cable. Apparently the extension cord wiring is too thin, voltage drops below some threshold and the phone decides to charge with low current, so that it does not fry the wiring. More testing to follow, I will measure the resistance of all my cables and see what differences I can find. It would be easy if I just move the DC-DC converter in the dash and use a short cable but I already fit everything on one PCB.

Walk away. A woman that wants you to not be you is not for you. I have to weigh everything. The part about the hobbies was an anecdote and I'm slipping slowly into it. I'm at that part where my hobbies are lagging behind. Playing chauffeur is what consumes my time. When she stays at my place I always go to work late, get off work late, pick her up and from there on I don't have time to do everything I would do in an afternoon. End result is we don't have time for us. Simple solution in my view would be for her to use one of my cars and go to work. It's 1.5 miles away. She could even walk there or bike there. If it's 1.5 miles away, how does it take up all your time? Not trying to be a nag, just trying to understand. She can't go to work at 7AM like I do, so driving her to work means I get to work after 8:30AM

She could use either set. The picture she painted of me when she was mad is nasty. I'm pretty bummed now, how do other couples work? I've been pushing projects more and more behind just because I spend time with her. If this doesn't work out, I shall do my best to find somebody who has a strong passion for something, doesn't have to be the same passion as mine. When first dating it's nice if somebody has hobbies and uses up their free time to grow and evolve. When the relationship gets serious you begin to spend more time with each other and the hobbies start to lag. Then it becomes a problem for the other person that you don't have hobbies anymore. Rant over, I should be working now.

Really too much to discuss, neither of us are perfect, both have made mistakes. A guy I know said that women have 4 lips. 2 to get mad at you, 2 to make up with you.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Last Dec I was on a skiing trip with friends, car remote stopped working when we were on the mountain, the driver side door lock happened to fall into the door the day previous, and the passenger side door lock was already broken. I pulled out the battery from the remote, cupped it in my hands and breathed on it for a minute then stuck it back in. The whole time this one guy was scoffing about how it wouldn't work until I clicked it and the car unlocked. "FUCK YOU!" I get it that she was tired (it was 4AM) but it's not a hobby to clean my remote after it was submerged in water. It's not like it took an hour. Oh, well, it is what it is...

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

We measured up to 128dB in front of the main stage. It was seriously loud.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Festival was pretty nice, Friday night was muddy since it rained but by Saturday it pretty much dried off at the stages. End of the festival was not so nice. I dropped my car keys in a shallow well; managed to recover them and ended up fighting with the GF because I wanted to open the remote to dry it.

I need a good product key for windows 7 ultimate..Check Microsoft.com Yup. For such a computer expert that can write drivers in 10 minutes, I'd expect him to figure that one out...

Similar thing as used in the miniDC, a small black box. IF that works and cleans up my noise, I'll order a 3A converter for powering the phone.

The isolated DC-DC converter should be here Tuesday :woot:

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

The MiniDSP is picking up noise. I tried 3 different 5 volt chargers, I managed to get one of them to work to the point that there is no difference in noise between with / without charging the phone too. At least everything is in a nice plastic box now. I'll try to unplug the CD Changer and stock radio, maybe those happen to add some interference on the associated wiring.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Looks like I need a better USB charger or even an isolated DC-DC converter. I've already ordered 2 300mA isolated converters but it's going to take a bit for those to arrive. Why did I cheap out and didn't buy the miniDC?

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I can't figure out why I have so much noise. I'm using the switched 12v which is in the stock system. Turn on the radio, switched 12v is hot. It would be the stupidest thing to have some sort of interference because of the stock radio and cd changer.

The Miata was so simple. Just connect everything and NO noise.

Come on 10AM, I want to go buy a box for the MiniDSP and the delay circuit. The MiniDSP has been sitting in an APM-1 cardboard box ever since I installed it.

Any thoughts on how I could have a momentary ground closure upon powering down my car? The power supply I bought for my carpc can blow me. Momentary ground closure? You want the ground disconnected momentarily? I *assume* it is a ground or continuity switch. Want to turn my pc on. The power-off time delay circuit is what I've built: http://www.bowdenshobbycircuits.info/page2.htm Works perfectly for the turn-off pop. BUT I still haven't cured the noise. Engine off, phone unpowered, light noise. Engine on, phone unpowered, light alternator whine, loudness goes up with the amp gain. Every time I power the phone noise level goes through the roof. I couldn't figure it out last night, it was 2AM. Same 5v supply for the MiniDSP and phone. MiniDSP RCA shields are grounded. Tried a different ground for the 5v supply, same noise. I either have some really bad RCA y-cables or I have a bad amplifier ground. I'm going to try: Different 12v and switched 12v for the 5v supply External ground cable for the amps No RCA Y-cables Set the MiniDSP input voltage to 2v RMS (I don't see why it would help though) RCA directly from phone to amp.

minidsp has a solution (minidc) but you might as well build your own. Much nicer but too many features for my needs
