I'm rocking a 2540 elitebook which I got for $150. SSD, 4GB DDR, good battery life.

PPI DSP-88r
Adrian_D replied to brian p's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The miniDSP is powerful but for me it did not work. Way too noisy, I ended up with all sorts of crazy attempts to fix noise. Now, they have a 2x8 for in-car installations, which I'm pretty sure has repaired the noise issues -
PPI DSP-88r

I like it a lot, seems well worth the $209 price tag. People claim zero noise, which is a key point for a DSP IMO. Remote control unit is also very useful. It also has optical in. Found it for $175 on ebay. Damn, makes me mad I bought an Audison Bit Ten and I've just sent the second DRC in for warranty... -
Ah, the memories of working on a backhoe I really really miss those times.

Sounds like a stretched or even frayed cable. I had a few strands break on mine, could no longer shift to the highest ring. And the rear cable is also stretched, it messed up indexing a bit, so I had to adjust tension.

I wish I still had some Zywiec from when we visited. I liked that beer lot.

Hooray, looks like the Jeep's valvebody was also showing serious wear, so I had that rebuilt too. It should arrive tomorrow.

I converted my hydraulic jack into a transmission jack. Went way too easy but it required two people, mainly because the hydraulic jack did not lift high enough, so we have to wrestle some thick hardwood boards under the jack. I used the same jack for the transfer case, which is almost as heavy as the trans. Again, so easy with the right tools.

Heck yes, it's open on September 10...I'm nervous already... So by then I'd need: framerails, coilovers, tires, fresh brake pads, fresh oil and lots of miles on mountain roads. Obviously, I won't see any miracles, I've never driven on a track but this should be fun.

Thanks, I never was this nervous for a repair job. Here's the full topic: http://sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45933

Transmission installed, filled to correct level. Gearshifts and torque converter engagement are smooth like butter, I've only driven 30 miles so far. Here's hoping for lots of transmission-trouble free motoring. Next up, cooling system flush.

I had a 12" flared port, built out of fiberglass and it was external. I never liked the idea of PVC elbows due to cost.
-
It's going to be open then, as far as I can tell from the website. Work trip is in 5-9 September, my birthday is on the 6th, so a Nurburgring ride on the 10th is just about right for a birthday treat.

In light of the Brussels terror attacks, I think I will drive the Miata to Stuttgart in September for the company meeting. It's only 850 miles and the company would pay for fuel. If I convince a colleague to come with me the company will be better off financial-wise. Nurburgring is 200 miles away from Stuttgart, I'm curious if it's open in September...

New APM-2 Video Feature Teaser
Adrian_D replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Mid to late April, so stay tuned -
Lots of worries. And now all the piston seals are changed, I went over each seal, took it off, replaced it and I'm left with an extra seal. DAFUQ? Looking in the repair manual I counted the ones I removed and they are all there. And when replacing I compared each new seal with the old seal before installing the new one. I have to take apart 2 pistons and check again for my peace of mind

Yay transmission rebuild:

The APM-2 will replace the APM-1 completely. There are no more APM-1's -
Damn ! What an idiot
