LOL good stuff. Would you like a wiring guide to make sure everything else is connected right? You know make sure your speakers arent out of phase and what not? Just need to know year, make and model of the vehicle. Yes, if you don't mind. I already have it apart. Uploading pictures now. Truck is in sig. Constant 12V+ Orange Switched 12V+ Yellow Ground Black Illumination Gray Dimmer Brown Antenna Trigger Pink Left Front (+) Tan Left Front (-) Gray Right Front (+) Light Green Right Front (-) Dark Green Left Rear (+) Brown Left Rear (-) Yellow Right Rear (+) Dark Blue Right Rear (-) Light Blue Here you go pal, hope this helps.... I have an orange wire unconnected, i remember hooking everything up and not remembering where it goes so i left it undone. I also have a black wire unconnected. Orange should be where your yellow wire goes, but if that wire is bad (reasoning for running a new wire) then you need to just cover it up. Black should ground,.......should. Wait, i don't follow.. Is the yellow wire coming from the truck bad? or the wire coming from the head unit bad? Do i change the orange with the yellow or not? Cover what up? EDIT: Also, there is a black wire from my head unit that isn't connected.. Should i ground that (guessing it is a ground wire) Also, what should i do about the black wire coming from the truck? Ok. The yellow wire from your kenwood needs to be connected to a constant 12 volt wire (stays hot all the time). The orange wire in the vehicle should be the constant 12 volt wire, but it could be bad or a fuse could be blown for that wire. You mentioned someone ran a new hot wire from the battery to the radio......this wire...whatever color it may be needs to be connected to the yellow wire on the kenwood. The red wire on the kenwood needs to be connected to a wire that cuts on/off with the ignition key. The "factory" vehicle wire should be yellow. Yellow wire from kenwood to batt wire Yellow wire from truck to red wire from kenwood Correct? Yes. Correct. That should fix your problem as long as all the wires are good. Hope this helps....im going to bed. lol I'm rewiring them now... laptop + wifi FTW! I'll see whether it works ina sec thank you 4runner!!!!!!! -

2 12's or 2 10's for small 4 dr sedan?
BanginGMC replied to jt34237's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
A good friend of mine told me the same thing. Go with 2 12's! You are going to want more anyway! I just don't want to overpower my mids and highs. I've been in vehicles where all you hear is the bass, this is NOT what I want! So say I have to 12's what is the difference between turning down the gain on the amp to the sub and actually turning it down on the deck? BTW to answer your question it's not my first sub setup, I have 1 memphis audio 10 right now but I want more then that obviously. I have never heard your front stage nor the sub stage you are asking about, but.. i wouldn't worry too much about over powering your front stage. I don't know if your H/U has EQ settings, like rock, pop, top 40, natural, etc etc but these settings, (EQ settings) will help you balance your audio equipment so nothing "over powers" anything. -
Thanks guys!! All great ideas! CadillacMatt -- i love that idea in your set up Cablguy184 -- A+ man, looks great and clean and those purple amps look beautiful on tan. lithium -- I love that you can hide all the mess and make your system look clean "powered by air" Mynameismcgyver -- i can't really understand whats going on there lol looks clean but from that angle i'm dumbfounded Mac N Cheese -- Sexy!

BanginGMC replied to jt34237's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Is this your first sub set up? If so, you may think you don't want too much bass but when you have and feel the bass in your ride... when you have the power to have bass at anytime you want.. it does (to some people i've talked to about this) turn into you wanting more bass. -

BanginGMC replied to BanginGMC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Thank you for the reply. When i bought my double din i didn't feel like installing it so i payed a guy 50 bucks to hardwire it (because the factory harness was cut out) and i forgot the reasoning but he did run a wire directly from the batt to the head unit, i THINK i connected my kenwood to the wire as well? -- it as been awhile and i have been so busy. EDIT: but.. obvs i didn't connect it to that wire right? - when i noticed the issue i thought of "The power wire that is always on is not connected to the right wire." -
whats the biggest baddest most power hungry monster of a sub?

Enclosure Build for DUKE71 (Two 12 Inch IA Lethal Injection's)
BanginGMC replied to Argent Audio's topic in Argent Audio
Some box builders leave the box without terminals so the buyer can position it himself. I am jealous of your work, very clean sir. I love the look on the sides, how it goes in about an inch. -

Do you mean did i connect the yellow wire where the red wire needs to be and the red wire to where the yellow wire needs to be? -
Is the volt meter really THAT bright? Looks like a good start, i've always wanted to try a bandpass enclosure. What alt(s) you runnin?
-
Wouldn't the serial number be documented by the company so that could tell you where/who it was sold/sent too? -- don't really know how that stuff works.

car off, impedence=.9-1.1...car on impedence= -23. wtf
BanginGMC replied to Wackzirth88's topic in General Audio
The DC resistance is the measurement of the coil at rest. When the cone starts moving, the magnetic field associated with the magnet and the moving coil increases the resistance of the voice coil. Usually the more resonant the enclosure, the higher the impedance rise.- 17 replies

I hope it has no effect, cause it looks pucking sexy and i would do the same to an enclosure like so.
