Honestly i couldn't tell you.. because i don't know the difference. I listen to rap all the time, if that helps. I just don't want my bass drowning out my highs.. i don't want you to get in my truck and say where is all the highs?

This sucks... but i understand better now. So my issue can be resolved with mids, not tweeters/horns, correct? Midbass is not an issue with my install, so high efficiency mids is what i need then. What are some Pro Audio mids that will help me reach my goal? I have never looked into them, ever. Links would be amazing. What kind of mids are you using? Do you have any videos? Also, back to the tweeters.. so for my highs then (because i have NO highs right now, sold them) i imagine the Super Tweeters will still be a good choice? (yes, i know some think they sound like shit) I need to buy some powerful highs that will mount on my dash.. Thanks, Dom.

This thread became more complicated then i expected. I never said i "only" just want to hear the words.. so i don't know why you quoted me on that. I don't know if you have ever sat in a 150+ daily for more then 15 minutes or owned a system that did 150+ daliy but once you have... its not easy to hear the words in the songs, and thats my goal! I don't just want speakers that will "only" play vocal, i want to hear the words in the songs that i play. A lot of people have the issues i have, and they go with super tweeters to fix that problem and they say it has worked. Do i know that for a fact? No, because i haven't heard their install to rightfully say I KNOW it will work. I was looking into bullet tweeters because someone brought them up in post #12. After talking to Jay-Cee for a few minutes, i'm leaning towards the Selenium ST200 Super Tweeter. Sir-Lancelot, with the Super Tweeters you've experienced with.. do you think they would help me hear the words better?

Those ST350's sound pretty good, but you have to cross them over pretty high. Lots of people seem to like the NX-5. I would say horns too, but they are a bitch to mount and tune. I really don't think image and staging is what you are after, just loud and clear. Am I right or no? I just want to hear the words in my songs! I got 150db daily and it makes it hard. Yes, i just want loud and clear.. not after image and staging. Can't mount them where i want them though

I am deaf.. but i can still feel the bass, which is nice. I'm going to look into horns and bullet tweeters, anyone have any links?

You should be able to break 50s no fucking problem unless your box was made by a blind person. I'm running (2) 15" SMDs on (2) SAZ-3500Ds in an ext cab pick up and i break 50s no problem with no wall, above window line. My electrical is (4) XS Power D3100 (1) DC Power 320Amp Alt. On FULL TILT while doing 30-40mph i stay in 13s all day.

Do you think 4 of them in the dash would be too much?

How is your amp wired, to the head unit or an inline converter? To explain the pre-out voltage that was mentioned earlier, think of it like so.. The Head Unit (stock radio) gives out a certain amount of power (pre-out voltage i.e. 2v 4v 6v 8v) if your Head Unit gives out 2v and your setting your amp to 5v... Do you see the issue at hand?

Thats pretty cheap for a woofer, Alpine Type R comes to mind.

Does the sub woofer get really warm - hot playing at a level where you think it might be "hurting" the sub?
