Where were ya this weekend? Work? No, wasn't worth it to me to go. From what i heard though i would have cleaned house.

Yeah, I decided i'm not going with the super tweeters anymore.. I didn't want to take the chance of them sounding like shit.. oh well, they weren't a lot of money anyway.

Does anyone know any information on the Boston Acoustics SPG555? Is it a good performing woofer or just another mainstream average sub? http://www.bostonacoustics.com/SPG555-P567.aspx 555 cm2 of surface area 3¾ inches of peak-to-peak excursion 3½ voice-coil Radialvent® cooling technology Only 26 Lbs! Thanks to Neodymium Lightweight design RVC™ (Removable Voice Coil) allows coil to be exchanged without removing the woofer from the enclosure SPS™ (Soft Part System) removable assembly enables field repair of the cone/surround/spider assembly Can be field-stripped and custom painted, powder-coated, or plated Work in multiple enclosures, both sealed and ported Integral sealing gaskets simplify both standard and inverted mounting Available in 4-ohm and 2-ohm versions Reason I ask is because my brother is thinking about buying one. Thanks guys. On a side note, removable voice coil seems pretty user friendly

Alright guys, I just got home from work Here's some pictures of the speakers being used in the front stage. The tweeter selection is not 100% permanent, I have to hook them up and see how they sound. I also got some HIDs More secrets coming soon..

A LOT of company owners and such went to CES.. that's most likely why they did not answer you within the time frame of CES going on.

Don is a cool guy, he does tell people ways to stop panels and such from vibrating.. but, to stop things from flexing you have to go a different route. To control vibration w/ sound deadener To control flex w/ sound deadener I've talked to people about Don and his ways and thinking multiple layers is a waste.. it's only a waste when you want to stop vibrations. If you need to stop flex, and stiffen a panel with sound deadener, covering a little piece of the panel isn't going to work.

curious.. What does it take to "become" a member?
BanginGMC replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Team SSA
So do you get invited? Or do you ask? Can you join just by slaping a SSA sticker on ur windshield, and then show a member as proof? Do you have to be competetive and run all SSA products? Submit videos, pictures? etc etc etc... lol I've always wonderd what it took to become part of a team, because I see them all over the site. Team DC, Team SSA, Team IAK, etc etc etc. I got invited. I assume you could ask. You don't join by adding a sticker to your window. You should run SSA products, even though I do not. You should compete. You don't have to post videos and such. -
Link works for me? Thanks for the thoughts though, much appreciated! I'll let him know.

what kinda amp is that? -
I was driving home from my girls house listening to some of decafs songs I just downloaded and all a sudden my slave amp turned off, I reset my head unit seeing if it was some freak accident and it'd turn back on, but it didn't, so I continued driving home with my head unit off, with it being so late I didn't have the energy to do a lot of trouble shooting. Both amps are grounded in the same spot and share the same remote wire. I checked both 300 amp fuses and they didn't look blown, the remote wire didn't come loose and fall out. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks, Dom

What subs?
-
Made an appointment for Tuesday to go to a shop and talk about getting some fiberglass work done on my truck.
-
Chris thinks the transistor that handles the remote turn on function is shorted. Sending the amp into dB-r shortly.

I'm not sure you know a lot about subwoofers... The enclosure matters waaay more then the subwoofer. Now i've said that, the SMD isn't a high powered competition sub. It's a musical subwoofer meant to handle crazy amount of power and sound good doing it. IT IS NOT A BURP SUBWOOFER. This.

Any difference with upgrade?
BanginGMC posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I've talked about this subject with a couple people and I was looking for more opinions. My current system is Head Unit: Alpine iDA-X305S Front Stage: (4) 7" AA Carbon Fibers (1) SAX-100.4 (4) Selenium ST200s (1) SAX-125.2 Sub Stage: (2) 15" AA SMD (2) SAZ-3500D strapped Electrical: (1) Yellow Top (4) XS Power D3100 (1) DC Power 320 Amp Alt I'm thinking about upgrading my sub amps to (2) SAZ-4500Ds strapped, will I notice any audible difference or any difference on a TL, is so how much? I would upgrade my electrical along with the amps. Thanks, Dom. -
My girl has an ICON on 1k in 2.5 cubes tuned to 32hz, i'm meeting full excursion on the subwoofer with our listening habits. I'm looking to upgrade to an XCON so it can handle the abuse better and so we can have possible upgrade(s) in near future. What are the Pros and Cons of upgrading? How does the XCON handle 1k? Looking for short and sweet answers Thanks guys! Dom.
