it is an 03 taurus. but by the way... ford, easy to disassemble?? you should see a honda. fords are a pain in the ass. all you need for a honda is a phillips screwdriver and you can have the entire car in pieces... literally

hehe... but not all :-D i get funny looks from people in traffic all the time. my car only has the two front seats, center console and carpet in it. no trim pannels and no rear seat

just an update: second day with sub, more A Perfect Circle, and i am still being amazed . it seems that this sub just loves to be driven hard, and a single H-1 will get it going really good, and ful excursion looks really cool . and on a similar note, the Tru H-1 makes breaking in a sub really fast and easy :-p i submit that it becomes Stereo Integrity's new policy that i be put in charge of breaking in all woofers before shipping

2 1/8 inch works out to be 2.1"... they are going to be the same mounting depth, so dont let that be a deciding factor i say go with the 307's, they sound amazingly great

and i, for one, would never throw a pair of dress shoes against the wall of said laundry room while you did said projects

im afraid that the SI 18" concept has been thrown out the window .
-
oh yeah, i almost forgot to mention... New Kids On The Block really is the best(nick convinced me of this today) and from now on out, my car will be reffered to as "project Hammy". i think that no explanation is needed.

pics of the claws, or pics of the 15? the claws are actually on the SI web page(the red explorer was my last car). as for the 15, nothing new there, new sub in a huge box in the back of a taurus. i can get some pics if you want, and i am about to post some pics of my car with no interior as soon as i get them on my computer. prepare yourselves for the mother of all stereo integrity installs.... as far as comparing the 12 to the 15, the only difference is output. since i have never heard a single 12 in a box of this magnitude i cant really make an exact comparison. sa far as accuracy goes though, the 15 goes head to head with the 12. it is just as tight and accurate, but it really gets nasty loud. i talked to nick about my experience with it earlier, and told him that it is one of the most amazing subs i have heard . anyone in the moorseville/charlotte area wanting to hear a 15" can contact me, and hear it for themselves

oops... i was thinking 307's :thud:. my bad i completely forgot about the 302's sizes
-
there are currently no grills for the 302's. there isnt a grille that will fit over the midrange, or the tweeter. however, you can fabricate something really cool and put it over them

my car is a dark silver, thats gota count for something

i dont know why, but someone please confirm for me that the phrase "repeated smacking of the spider" is unexplainably hillarious. or perhaps i have been down in one too many crawl spaces with actual spiders

he wont be out of town, he is returning today. it was a weekend meet, nothing big. i would imagine he will be shipping them out sa fast as he can break them in
-
nick has been very busy this past week. he was getting his stereo installed in his new car, fabricating kick pannels, testing out the new SI8, and he was searching for a new job as well. he is currently at a meet in Tn, and as soon as he returns im sure that he will get to you ASAP. you can also email marty or jacob at the company, there emails are listed on the site and they can answer questions as well. if nick takes a while to get back to you dont sweat it, he is very busy and he will get to you, but he works a second job while running SI and he is constantly busy

trust me man, i live down the street from nick, i was the first person outside of the company to hear the magnum before production, and me and nick have done alot of playing with the subs. you arent going to get them to move 6". we have played well below tuning in my SPL vehicle(mine is the red explorer on the SI web page), as well as other SPL vehicles, we have plugged them into walls, and we have put rediculously huge amps on them. none of these experiments have yielded a 6" p-p excursion. it cannot be done with the magnum and that xmax of 24mm(.94" when converted) is the true measurement of xmax, which is the coil overhang. and if you note on the website the p-p excursion is listed at 2.4" for the 12, 2.6" for the 15. if you were to take the surrond from a mag and pull it until it is flat, it is not going to measure 6" long. quoted from the web page "Topping it all off is a 1.5
-
the mags wont move 6". they move a little over 3" peak to peak. i think that as of right now the longest throw subwoofer in production is moving right around 4", but there are a fwe companies that have proto's that are moving 6". but the mags... they wont move that far
-
nicks got the proto in. it is currently in the back of his car. i have yet to see it or do extensive listening to it. but what i have heard it is really great. the other night he picked me up on the way to the bar, but unfortunatly it was too dark to see it in his trunk
-
yes its true that they are broken in with that much power. nick uses a crown K2 amp to break in each woofer before they are shipped out(ive been there to help a few times ). also, the mags design doesent allow it to bottom out. the suspension keeps the former safely away from the back-plate.
