so i only ask this because i saw this and i have all ways been told to run both coils at all times. but they are saying using one of the two coils just means you can just run half the power to the sub and its no harm no foul. they also said that you can use the second coil with a potentiomoter for a variable QTS system. i would like your thoughts on this, and i thank you for taking time out of your day to answer me.

got some new toys. thanks to my SS Eric.

i have an old school saz-3000d and i have loved it, and if i kill it being dumb theres all ways DB-r to repair the amps if you kill them, from what i understand depending on how bad it is he replaces all the components on the board off and gives you new ones in the repair, aka new ish amp. also i most of the sundown amps do rated power at 12.8V instead of 14.4V so more power when you are abusing your electrical.

thats a bought what i thought, thanks for your time nick.

you ran that power wire the hard way but it is very nice looking. do me a favor, could you tell me how tall that spacer is? got to make some for my buddy's toaster coaster.

i loved my q9550 in my old mini tower oc'ed right up to 3.4gh with a small after market cooler, your temps might also be high or your thermal past might have gone bad unless you used AS5. i also recommend not using the stock heat sink. the 9800 was a good card back in the day but you can get a nice gtx460 for 160-200 depending of what card specs you are looking for. if you would like links to all my hardware choices let me know i will go link hunting for you. -
this is my setup with my sundown 3kd. gets pretty loud for an FI Q (SQ driver) in a tiny box.

thats all i was asking, no war just want to see how the sundown amps bench.
-
hey droch, do me a favor at least if you get any sundown amps in will you have them tested just so we can see what they show as? at this point its more for curiosity than any thing else.

$2700 may be the retail on it, but i'm sure " SUNDOWNZ " understands the cost of and quality of a board to putout over 4,000 watts at less then .09% THD @ 12 VOLTS. it's .005% at 14.4v.... Class H Quality isnt cheap.... Best of the Best. Actual Tested Rating @ 12 volts (Random Production Unit ser#60026) 1 Channels @ 4 ohms 1198 Watts 1 Channels @ 2 ohms 2311 Watts 1 Channels @ 1 ohms 4366 Watts THD @ full power 1ohm .09% * Audiophile sound quality based design * Designed by Robert Zeff * Class H switching design * Microprocessor controlled design * Microprocessor controlled Code based flashing diagnostics * Concealed adjustment controls * 24Db per octave Low pass crossover (Bandwidth limited) * Internal chassis force cooled speed controlled dual fans for optimum cooling * Hi/Low level balanced switchblade RCA inputs for maximum system integration * RJ45 Ethernet input connections for true balanced input connections * Block type terminal connections * 256 color user selectable illumination circuit * Combined Bias circuit and temperature regulation circuit to regulate bias and lower THD at any point in total thermal cycle * Microprocessor high voltage power supply allows the amplifier to optimize power output at different ohm loads without the loss of efficiency or sound quality * Vdrive based preamp stage improves efficiency lower internal signal loss * Hand picked ultra hi voltage output devices used in the SE4000 * 3 stage bank of self branded ultra low ESR 105 degree Celsius caps increase power reserves for each of the amplifiers 6 voltage rails * massive combined output inductors eliminate any unwanted A/C ripple in the amplifier increasing the amplifiers stability, while lowering the THD and increasing the S/N ratio. * Equipped with Dual 1/0 Power and Dual 1/0 Ground Screw Down Compression Block Terminals * Strapable Design allowing for the linking and connection of two units into one single channel of very high power of output- Capable of over 9000 watts at less than 1% distortion + over 10,000 watts at less than 3% distortion. sexy amp guts.

i was hoping for a reference point for what Jacob says and what the amps do. i love my sundown amps, i cram them in friends cars and usaly pimp them out over any thing else if they fit the applaction. i run a saz-3000D and would love to know the true top end of its power band but being in GA i don't think theres any place local that i could test at. i am more instred in gathering info then pitting amps agenst one another, but i would like to be able to say "testing showed that xxxx is capable from the amp if needed. it was more of a request and pointing out that DB-r usaly has good deals on sundown amps that he has repaired and they come with a warranty as well. it is a nice alternative to have if you are on a budget.

hear is a 3500 thats been referbed by DB-R for 585$ http://www.db-r.com/sell/store2/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_67_69_97&products_id=228 get it and get us a birth sheet and tell us what you think.

i set my gain with a 46hz tone and a dimm. maybe a bad idea but it works fine for me and if i blow something up i know its my fault. no need to make nick's day any harder.

very very nice, that kind of work should get u laid.

welcome back, woot. what amp issues are you having?

so hears my thought(s), i want to run 2 runs of wire for + and - 1 is my old CCA wire the other is my new OFC, i was thinking the load would just be blaalenced over the two and the OFC would take the over head if i ever ran that much power. CCA (250 amps) the OFC (375 amps) so 625 amps total and my max draw ATM is 300 + 60 = 360 amps total theritacl draw. i am hopeing this will help with voltage drop. so my main question is would my system care if i mix and match CCA and OFC? and any other thoughts you may have on this. thank you for your time.

this build makes me wish i could cut a straight line with a T-square.
-
i really am loving this build, i don't remember what you where using for an amp tho.

Thats funny. I didn't think anything about it until you mentioned it then I looked at the pic again and could picture a bunch of mids and tweets mounted there. Thats not my style thankfully. mine eather i keep it simple.
-
very nice, thought you where going to fill it with mids and highs for a sec.
