Whats the difference between the port pointing in the same direction as the woofer, or upwards or towards the opposite direction? -
Best enclosure design for ssa xcon??

I was just thinking the traditional cube shaped enclosure, thanks for your response. -
Ya, well I was used to a fully powered, and perfectly fine tuned Kove Armageddon. when cranked, you could feel your hair move in the front seat and it would blow out a lighter in the front seat with the windows closed, and all the street signs appeared to be shaking.

I ordered a SSA xcon 15" dual 2ohm so once they build it I will see how it performs, and I will let you guys know what I think of it. I do have pretty high standards so if I end up thinking its awesome, everyone will, lol.

Well I found the specs to my kove and i put them into WinISD and it seems to be decently flat on the response curve but anything below 40hz is just a big drop. so i know i'll be happy with this xcon

WOW I had to dig alot but I found specs for the improved version my kove, and remember this is the improved version, and I typed them into WinISD and I was shocked, the response curve was horrible, yes this sub gets damn loud, but the xcon was almost completely flat, and this kove dips down so far its amazing it can sound as good as it does, This xcon is gonna be truly awesome compared to what i'm used to. the difference in 40hz and a 20 hz is a 25db drop,

SSA xCon 15" WinISD results
gadgeteer123 replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I did try changing the enclosure size, from anywhere between 3.6 and 4.5 and it was about the same, when I went higher I lost the flat response curve. -
Here are the results to the SSA xCon 15" sub woofer in WinISD the enclosure is 4.0 cubic feet tuned to 28hz, I hope this helps. I noticed no one else has one out yet and these always help me greatly.

Are your numbers 14 and 43 a typo or what are you talking about? 43 hz is where his box peaks at. i think i'll be satisfied with this subwoofer, either way I think it will be better than what I have and that what i'm aiming for.

I listened to one guy who had two 10 inch kickers and he said he hit 144db's with it, and thats what i compared it to. either, way i think the ssa xcon will do the job.

I was playing with WinISD and I have come up with that a 4 cubic foot box with a tuning of 28hz would be best for me, thank for your help i will post the response curve i got in another post so other can see and hopefully it helps them.
-
Has anyone done a response curve on it yet?? i would love to see one.

Wow I think the youtube videos themselves have me sold, thats a lot of car flex, especially with the windows down, my car only flex's with the windows closed. I think i'm gonna get one, but I still would love any more responses if you have any.
