haha ive gone to the Fi checkout page like 3 times for the subs but keep not clicking the button because i keep second guessing everything. what if this or that doesnt work? plus i got people telling me its way more power than im going to want but how will i ever know if i dont do it. id rather get too much and have to get rid of it than get another system that isnt enough. my biggest concern is i sometimes listen to rock music and i can just imagine how these subs are going to destroy it but i listen to hip hop 90% of the time sooooo lol

and thanks. oh and by the way. the sundown amps' power light are an LED blue along with the light on the remote knob. so it would match your black and blue theme that you mentioned alright thats cool. yeah i just dont like an annoying red or amber light reflecting on the windows at night. plus my current clarion amp is a blue light and will probably be staying in to run the door speakers.

by the way i like your voltmeter. my bro had one in his truck but somebody else installed it and it was red, not blue. he hated that red light right under his radio lol

uhhh i'd say 1 or most likely two do you know what the Big 3 is? in terms of wiring under the hood of a car yeah. well sort of. ive never done it but ive read about what it is and im going to have help with that when it comes time to do it by somebody thats actually done it before so im good to go there. i have really good resources when it comes to the installation part which is a learning process for me but its just the products that are confusing because theres so many and so many personal opinions on things.

okay i wont lol how many do i need, 2?

group 31 is just the size of the battery. I would check out XS Power, they have a slightly higher floating point than other populars, but also a bit more expensive. Kinetik is another great brand/popular company, deka's if you want to save a few bucks. Optimas are good batteries, but there's better/bigger out there. okay cool, il check those out. i forgot about optimas. just wanted to get an idea so i can plan everything accordingly. i think ive pretty much passed the point of saving money when i decided i wanted a big stereo system

Most HO alternators (that i've checked out) put out most of their power at idle. A HO alt plus a few batteries in the back on a saz 3500d on two btl's, guarantee you'll be happy. sweet! sounds good to me. this is just another preference question i guess but is there a battery brand that works better than the other or a particular one that most people use for systems like this? kinetic, stinger, and the other guy mentioned group 31 but im not quite sure what that is?

no i have never owned anything memphis. this particular amp has just caught my eye. this is the part where many may frown upon me but it is how the amp looks. it is black with blue lights which matches the theme of my truck, and if im spending big money on an amp, it will be displayed and not tucked away somewhere. BUT...its not all about looks. thats why i am on here asking questions because just because it looks good, doesnt mean its going to get the job done. but if there isnt a big difference in the performance of all the higher end amplifiers (memphis, sundown, RF) then this is just the one i would prefer. so its not a big deal. also there is an older thread somewhere in this forum where everybody went through the different audio companies and stated what they liked the best and quite a few people said memphis had great amplifiers. i really appreciate everyones input, thanks!

how much money i want to spend is really what will work great. im not setting a price and saying i have to get an amp under a certain amount. my price is whatever amp will do the job the best and make me happy with the system. and you said the more power the amp produces, the more my truck has to produce which is another concern i have. I know im going to need at least a 250 amp alternator along with batteries but my question is how do peoples vehicles run when at idle with the system going? it just seems like the vehicle would shut off. im just curious what everybody with big systems do to overcome this or if its even a problem at all.

two amps? one on each sub seems a little much compared to just one powering both subs.
-
Since it is a 4000 watt amplifier Im past sure it has 1/0AWG power/ground terminals on it, problem two different sets of them. okay thanks. im asking because i was on the phone today with a stereo dealer (not memphis though) and he said that it did not have one but he didnt have it in his hand. im concerned with this because this is the amp i really want for the 2 15in. btl's.

Does anybody know if the Memphis 16MC1.4000 amplifier has a 1/0 gauge port on it? It doesnt say on memphis' site and I cant find it anywhere on the internet. All I have seen is other memphis amps take 4 gauge wire and one of the mojos was a 2 gauge I think. Anybody have this amp or any input?

There is no better amplifier, each amp will push them the about the same. If you get 2 Dual 1 ohm subwoofers then get an amp that is 1 ohm stable . If you get 2 Dual 2 ohm subwoofers then get an amp that is 2 ohm stable . So if these are the amplifier specs, would it be considerd 1 or 2 ohm stable? Would it run both subs with 2000rms each if I ordered the sub dual 1 ohm? sorry if this sounds dumb, I just dont want to spend a bunch of money on something that isnt going to be what I want. •RMS Power 4 Ohm(w) : 1000W x1 •RMS Power 2 Ohm(w) : 2000W x1 •RMS Power 1 Ohm(w) : 4000W x1 •Bridged Mono Power 4 Ohm (w) : N/A •THD % 4 Ohm : 0.50% •Frequency Response : 20Hz - 650Hz •Dimensions (in) 7.77 x 2.24 x 30.31" 16-MC1.4000 - Memphis 4000 x 1 Class D Sub Amplifier 16MC1.4000 16 MC1.4000

Hi, I am completely inexperienced with electrical stuff and have a question about which amp would be better. I have a F-150 extended cab and am planning on getting rid of the back seat to open up a whole lot of a room for a box because I am tired of little systems and am looking to go "all out" this time around. I want to get 2 15 inch BTL's and am not sure which amplifier would be the best for them to get the most out of them. This question is assuming I get all the required electrical upgrades. I have read a lot of things on these forums and most people seem to like the Sundown amps. However I have had my eyes on the Memphis MOJO 16MCD 4kw. Also the Rockford Fosgate T-40001bd or SAZ4500d. I know these are powerful amps and very expensive but I want what is going to get me all the power I need without overheating and blowing out unless its my back window One of the catches is what the amps can do on certain ohms which is where i really dont know what im doing there. The point is I want to run both subs off of one amplifier and get at least the 2000rms on each sub. Any input is greatly appreciated.
