Those rims look really nice. They remind me of the FR500 rims. Just to make sure you realize I was referring to the 555 drag radials in the above posts. I assume you meant you'd look into a drag radial down the road, not this purchase.

I've put allot of miles on my nitto's. My father ha mickey thompson drag radials. The mickey's are much softer, I'd keep those as strip only tires.

John "Fireball" Urist shouldn't need to be explained. Nice choice and nice car, waiting for the upgrades. Drag radials help tons, if you can deal with them. I got some great wear out of the nitto 555r's as well as great traction.

Straps yes working on getting some, power cable is deff fused i mean who doesn't fuse a power cable with that big o cable? Fused, good. No grommets/strain reliefs, bad. Only a matter of time before you're doing it again. Who doesn't fuse their power cable? More than you think. Watch the news for car fires, there you go. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right the first time. For future referrence, 0gs, isn't big that big of cable. Suit yourself, it's not my truck.

I wish I had the balls to cut through my cab, sure would free up some space back there. I hope you get a hold down strap on the battery before it arcs out on the amp and some grommets/strain reliefs on the wires passing through the cab. The power cable is fused I hope.

Shogen or anyone else, what is the surround made of? I ask because I have an old eclipse with, I believe, a polyether surround that has some tears in it. I have some Shoe Goo, should I try it and how long do these repairs typically last? Haven't been on in a while. What happened to the spell checker?

as stated before, but push the coathanger through first then tape and pull the wire through. It really isn't that hard.

Either check to see what size ends you'll need or order the smallest hole size a plan to drill them out. You want the hole size as close to the stud/bolt size as you can get. Some type of distribution block should be fine, you could also use a nut and bolt to secure the lugs together for the different size cable. If you do this with the power wire be very careful not to let it ground out, obviously. I went to a local bouting store and got some remote battery terminals or something like that. Basically it's a stud incased in plastic, you mount the plastic to whatever and stack the lugs and tighten down the nut. I can't find any pics of mine.

The cable won't move once it's tight and grommets aren't waterproof. If you get the correct size grommet, it's a pain to pull the cable through without the grommet pulling out of the hole at some point. Now you have to get the damn thing back in or pull the cable out and start over. These are less than $3.00 at Menards and I'd gladly pay more than that for the lack of problems when using them. The hole still needs to be drilled anyway and it'll be alomst the same size either way. Why not use the strain relief? Good point. I guess I have always been lucky and never had to go through my firewall! Get what this guy suggests for a PAIN free life and install lol! Next time i have to go through my firewall I will most likely being using these also, mostly because Cobra brings up a good point and I have them readily available at my disposal! I wouldn't say "pain free", but I don't feel the need to smash something with a hammer afterwards, like I do when using grommets.

I would model the system and try to keep the port velocity to acceptable speeds. You will have to search for what is considered acceptable, different numbers depending on different people. Also keep you eye on whether it's measured in metric or standard in whatever program you're modeling the system in.

Any local builders supply store should carry them, Lowes, Home Depot or an electrical supply store could have a better selection. Either way I'd use the plastic ones not the metel ones. Sorry, You'd have to drive to Akron, Ohio to get to the closest Menards.

HELL NO YOUR NEVER TO OLD!! I'm 40, I have the money, knowledge, tools and patients to do what I want. I didn't when I was younger. I'm sure your wife has/does a few things you could complain about as well, If you really want to go down that road.

I've not tried it myself so I don't know if it works or not. I've heard that you should place the woofer where you sit, then move around the "room" until you find the loudest spot. Then place the woofer there. This was in reference to home theater not car stereos. If it works in a car at all, I'd assume it only aplies an open cabin not a car with a trunk.

I watched them both. I've got the time, I am laid off for the next couple of weeks. I skimmed back through the thread, but didn't see what car this is going in. From the pics you've posted everything looks clean so I'll assume the car is pretty new. If not and your going to take the time to deaden and mlv the car, check your door seals. Allot of noise will enter the cabin and I never see this mentioned.
