One coil to one amplifier terminal? (DVC Sub)
Dammed replied to Dammed's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Sorry guys, I meant it's not stable @ 2 ohm when bridged. Ok thanks for the info, I'll just wire it then to 8 ohm. -
I have a 4 channel amplifier, that's 2ohm stable when bridged. It gives out 4x140 @ 4 ohm and 2 x 360W @ 4 ohm. I'm going to use his amplifier to run a front stage and a small subwoofer in the rear. Is it possible to use one 4 ohm DVC subwoofer and connect each coil to their own speaker terminal? Would the result be the same if I just bridged two of amplifier termials and wired the subwoofer to 8 ohm?

So it should be about 40lbs for the 10", 42lbs for the 12" and 44lbs for the 15", give and take 1lbs. Thanks guys.

Hey. I saw the weight that's listed in the store, but is that with packaging? Anybody know what's the weight of the 12" and 15" Xcon?
-
Thanks man, how heavy do you think the packaging could be? Could someone from SSA write here the weight of the Xcons? (I know it's the holidays, so I don't expect it soon.)
-
The difference in weight is mostly the enclosure sizes. But when you take all the small things into consideration, it can add 10-20lbs to the total weight. That's why I'm trying to find exact values on my speakers, subwoofers, cables, battery etc. I want to have the 15", but if the 15" system becomes to heavy then I would have to go with a 12" or even a 10". I'm also trying to find out what power rating my system should be, more power = more weight. That's why I need exact values, because then I can compare a Xcon 12" system to a 12" 750W rms system. Because after all, the less weight the better, but I also want a good stereo. So I'm trying to find a middle ground between good car performance and a good stereo.
-
Anyone have exact values? I know they are around 50 lbs, but I need to know exact values to calculate difference in weight between a 12" and a 15" subwoofer system. (It's going into a sports car, so weight is important)

I'm thinking about buying two XS Power D3100 and one D1200, and the estimated shipping was $243.43 to NJ 07036?
-
I have readjusted the shipping module in our cart, please try again and you should see a more accurate price for your heavy items. Still the same charge of $243. Either way, I'll probably buy them from Summit, need a couple of things for my car as well.
-
I hope you're not talking to me? I made this thread to double check if the shipping is correct so that I may support a good store instead of going to a competitor. The store I found sold the batteries at the same price as SSA, but with free shipping. Now I would like to support SSA, but $243 is not pocket change for a student. And I did not send any PM's about anything.

I payed $181 for shipping of 3 Stinger batteries about the same size (two 2150 and one 1200 = 195lbs) in Norway. Which is a country where all things cost at least twice as much. So $247 is a bit much. I found these batteries with cheaper shipping.

Yeah I know, ok then I'll have to purchase them at a different place. Thanks for the fast replies.

SSA Enclosure Recommendations
Dammed replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Ok thanks a lot. Because I'm going to help a friend build a box for one. And I forgot to ask, what would the mounting depth be, couple of inches more then Xcon? -
SSA Enclosure Recommendations
Dammed replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Any recommendations for the ZCON subs? Especially the 15"? -
We don't have minimal wages in Norway. One of the least paying jobs, like grocery stores from the age of 18 is $15 / hour. But that's pretty low pay, normal low pay for someone that's above the age of 18 is around $20 / hour. Now compare that to prices like: 10,6 for a gallon of milk, and $72 for 0,7liters of Jack Daniels. It's a expensive country.
-
hah, $10.60 / gal for petrol here. You want expensive gas, come to Norway.

Fastest is in Abu Dhabi - Ferrari World, 149mph, but it's a shitty ride, no loops or fast turns. But it's fast. My favorite until now, is one in Europa Park, can't remember the name, but it's inside a huge Golf ball so everything is in the dark. Great thing about that is that you don't know what turn is coming and it's pretty fast.

Old VS New Hifonics Colossus
Dammed replied to Dammed's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
mm, I guess if I'm going to upgrade it will be a XXV Sampson instead of a new Colossus. -

I have a Hifonics XX-Colossus II, would the new Hifonics Colossus be better or worse? Mine: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5382_Hifonics-XX-Colossus-II.html The new one: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_32990_Hifonics-Colossus.html I noticed the new one's CEA-2006 compliant. -

How to clamp together plates at a 45 degree angle?
Dammed replied to Dammed's topic in General Audio
As a student that goes over my budget, especially since I live in Norway so the shipping would be to much. I'm just going to clamp together two joints. So I was more looking for a solution my making a small jig of some kind. But thanks for the link.
