This time its in daylight and is much shorter because people complained on those points last time haha Although this time im driving and its not that easy to control the car and film while having that much bass ripping though the steering wheel haha Update on sub, its loud and insane, ive done several upgrades such as cleaned everything up, the big 3 and moved things around and I seriously could not believe what a massive differnce the big 3 made on how loud this sub goes! edit* oh and please rate and comment if you like, 5* would be nice

hey guys, just did up a quick vid of my system, some people requested it yeh noticed my amp was clipping, and i mean i tuned it to 30 volume and max is 35 with all bass settings down, to 44 volts using the chart, and now i tuned it again with the bass knob out, and sub lvl at 15 which is max and bass 0 as it always is, and at 27 volume this time and i just miss the part where you cant breath, mann, can someone help me tune this thing perfectly lol, i dont want people to breath in my car lol, jks but yeh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9hZV71aZTw Please rate and comment, not rly necesary to comment lol, but a rating wud be nice 5* for Fi Car Audio

hey guys, if you checked out my latest vid i posted a few days ago then you will know that people have been saying it could be hitting harder, but im confused here because on some songs the amp clipping light comes on so it would be sweet if people with more knowledge could help me out so if you guys could show me what the gains should be set to, to have the loudest possible beat that would be much appreciated here is the vid here are my current amp and H/U settings (the red dot next to each setting is where the gain is set to) Box = slot ported tuned to 32hz Amp = AQ2200d Sub = 18" BTL D2 Head unit settings Sub lvl = 13 (max 15) Bass lvl = 0 Tuned at 30 volume with 50hz tone (max volume 35) average listening volume is 22 (any higher and it starts to clip) also when I set the gains (with a DMM) I had my H/U Sub lvl to 13 already, i tried it with 0 once but that wasnt loud aswell and came to the same outcome. edit* I took the remote out so I could get a clear pic, but I always use it

Must be the only other Aussie with half decent taste in what equipment they buy. Most of my mates buy Pioneer, Kenwood and shit like that. Makes me laugh when they give me the demo and they expect me to like it but i give it the thumbs down. Hertz Splitz and Fi Q all the way haha damn straight! ive been dreamin to get a Fi sub for years, n never thought that they wud ship out to here, then i finnaly got it n my expections were just blown their subs are insanly loud and brilliant quality too aye when the sub arrives dude, all your anger with waiting and all that will just dissapear, when ure gazing at the bueatifullness ...lol i cant spell -__-

Fi will get back to u when they can, theyre usually very busy with the amount of orders they get Im in australia aswell, and ordered a sub from them a few months ago, they have a great service and did a great job helping me get it here so just be patient,

hey guys, building a new box for my 18" btl, as the old one wasnt done right and was my first build so yeh, here are the specs, just wanted to run them by you guys before I go off and start. cheers
-
Right. Personally, I leave my sub level at 0 on the HU. I don't turn it above that, only down sometimes, but I use my amp's remote knob to adjust the bass volume normally. Yea, set the gains at the highest volume you'd normally play at. I just don't know if the sub level adjustment is boosting the signal if it's above 0, so I leave it at 0 to be safe. mhm yeh thats a good point thanks, i was thinking that it might actually count to the clipping by having that extra control in the h/u also i may have encountered anther issue as to why its not hitting hard, its my box, i failed making my first box because it was my first time and i dont think the measurements for the port are right i made another topic in general too get help on redesigning the specs for my box, i got confused on which measurements are which rebuilding box pic included - SSA Car Audio Forum
-
well im really looking for more like 32hz, but dont know how to get it yes there will be an extra baffle cos i dont think 1 3/4" mdf sheet can hold the 18" btl haha, i have 2 on my current box no bracing see i just dont know exactly what measurement is which is this the right measurement structure?

Haha, actually, the comment was me. haha my bad, thought u had differnt usernames thanks btw!, and yeh it does seem underpowered, maybe my box has some leaks...... built it myself, sooooo first time problems maybe haha

90 bucks ? Damn... ebay is way cheaper. Just look around. How much truck space do you have? Why did you go with an 18 when it can't fit in your truck. At least you can remove the back seat and fasten the box to the floor. This way it won't look so ghetto. 1/0/2/4 Gauge Ga ANL Fuse Holder Free Fuse and Shipping - eBay (item 200433296036 end time Feb-27-10 05:47:29 PST) yep i know what u mean, also got the 18 because for my future car will be a 4wd or van, so dont want to have to change if u know what i mean,

Hey guys, so my sub arrived today safe and sound after a few hicups with shipping, it ended up getting here without any problems, Just want to say a huge thanks to Fi and their team especially Scott and Nick for helping me out and replying to my emails, your company is just incredible and your products, i dont think there is a word to describe them absolutly marvelous should do it hehe UPS first said it would come on 02/02/10 but then when it didnt show up they changed the date to 04/02/10 but then on the 3rd i hear the truck reversing into my driveway and was like , opening the box wasnt easy without destroying the packaging but i managed, then unscrewing the top wooden hold to uncover this buatifull beast of a sub 18" BTL, it is effing HUGE, and i was excepting it to be heavy but not this bluddy heavy, wasnt easy getting it out of the box haha god damn its heavy And thank you so much for all the stickers, im going to have to cover my whole car up in em lol And after a few hours of staring at the sub and admiring its buaty, i realised im going to have to build another baffle piece onto my box so i went down to the hardware store got some more MDF then cut out another hole for the sub and attatched it just because after seeing how heavy the sub is, i dont think 1 baffle of 3/4" could support it . Also, any tips on what screws to use blah blah any info on screwing the sub in would be much appreciated thanks guys. So umm, yeah the pics
-
im gona have to agree i personally would not put a sub box on the back seat like that unless i was going to take the back seats out and modify all of it for a box . put if you like it there then good for you it is your car and system after all another thing i would spend money on some fuse holders , i like the fact that you were creative on making them, but i would not have something that draws so mush current through it out in the open i found some fuse holders for like 7 bucks for 1/0 gauge yeh fuse holders are like $90 here for 1/0gauge ones, rly sucks also the box cant fit anywhere else haha just need to fix up my tuning now, so its painfully loud, but not clipping. thanks guys for checkin out the vid btw
-
yeh just want it to be loud, im just nervous when it comes to anything with a camera or something like that lol, so i just spoke rly fast, anyways yeh need help with gains, i live in australia, and the vid was just for some ppl in my other thread, they asked to see the system and some people thought it was crazy to have an 18 btl in a mazda 3 so this is more proof lol.
-
LOL ouch, man that was harsh, but i do get ure point, i thought i could make up for those flaws for being a little funny, lol anyways, thanks and yeh that garage door was open to let air in, there are 2 doors you see, also did i suck at talking? lol, hmm yeh cudnt get to the point, was rushing..... thanks for the rating tho!
