    Review! Fi 18" BTL

Customer service > 10/10 (Scott and Nick, thanks for being so helpfull, they will reply to your emails when they have time, remember their really hard all day and dont have time replying to 50 emails a day from people that have no patience and want to know where their sub is every second of the day) Shipping time > 9/10 (It wasnt Fi's fault but I guess no one should use USPS, they claimed the package was something like 8 ounces over weight.....uhhhh ahhhhhh.... so it got sent back to Fi, I was tempted to email Fi and ask them where my sub is haha, but I pulled myself out of doing it so many times, because I didnt want to seem like those people that complain every second because their sub hasnt arrived AND ITS BEEN LIKE 1 DAY, so I just waited and was very patient, untill Fi emails me and tells me the news, so after all that then they just ship it with UPS I mean I can imagine they were pissed with USPS, while I tried to stay calm . But it seriously didnt bother me, I dont mind waiting for something this epic) Product > 10/10 (Can I say "work of art" it looks like most woofers, but then at the same time it doesnt, because it has this look that says to you, "im buatifull, I slam as hard as lighting and I sound like an angle" so this is the god of subwoofers) SQ > 10/10 (Sure its an SPL purpose built sub and I was curious to see how it would sound becuase I dont only play RnB type of music, I tend to listen to a lot of 80's music and oldies and the way it projects the bass in those genres is incredible, Fi sure have done it while desiging this baby, hats off to you) Weight > over 9000 (Just a warning to anyone buying this sub, GO TO THE GYM FIRST, this beast is ****ING HEAVY. Scott and Nick be built as ****) Packaging > 10/10 (Just a little note on the packaging, its incredible, Fi sure do pack it pro and lots of foam and wood, great job to keep it safe) SPL > 10/10 (When I first set it up it didnt play at all, then I found out i had to actually change the LPF and Subsonic settings, yes yes I fail lol, so anyways I got it running but noticed it wasnt as loud as I was hoping it to be then I realised I need an after market head unit, lol, so I went out got one installed it and thats it......... ..... ..... IT ****ING SLAMS, this beast is like a massive thunder storm in your car, sure its under powered I still need a new front battery, but good lord it slams, and with more tuning, it will probably destroy my car) Over All> 10/10 Very very impressed, cant wait to see its full potential when I have the power to back it up hehe, so great job Fi and I definetly recomend the BTL to everyone. Recomendations >Need a good electrical system >After Market Head Unit >Muscle >Well built box, I just built mine, first time but the sub is already tearing it apart lol, needs more bolts in it >Good tuning Specs Fi 18 btl fully loaded D2 AQ2200D 7cubes slot ported box 32hz (with 2 baffles) stock front batt back batt 100a/h amp tech (soon replacing front batt) Alpine CDA-105E Head Unit JL G-4500 (for mids and highs) JL C5-650 (mids and highs)

Sub has arrived, pics and all

Things have changed as of late, net prices have crept up (shipping anyone???) and b&m prices have crept down. In some cases, it may be better to buy b&m. I bought the 8 id8's in my sig from b&m store, rather than from woofers etc., I ended up paying 20 dollars more for the whole thing, but ended up with a local 2 year over the counter exchange, which kicks the shit out of what woofers etc will do for you. Never had that problem, 9 out of 10 times online is cheaper for car audio than a local store (Im always going to shops and comparing there prices and they have dropped some but not to how how low they are online). I dont really care for warranties since products usually f-up once a warranty is over with anyway, unless you baby them like me then they last longer. To the OP why dont you wall it or face it up. Did you think about laying the back seats down and placing the box on them? ok im going out to get the Alpine CDA-105 now, and from the store, he can do it about $350, online doesnt have them in stock and it will be $100 for shipping so blah. any objections upon that hu?

nah it just looks like that, but theres plenty of room, also i was thinking about putting the back seats down but then the box will be at least 5" or so higher, im thinking of strapping it down to the seats a little so it doesnt move around so much while driving.

Sub has arrived, pics and all

thats strange how a after market head unit can completly change the sound of the sub, atleast im hoping it will sort of noticed the sub wasnt loud enought when i could still breath properly and the car wasnt vibrating like crazy... like all them vids on youtube tomorow ill go and get some tnuts, and some bolts to fit through the surround, and re do all that, then when ever the hu is instock ill order it.

Sub has arrived, pics and all

ok so im probs going to get the Alpine CDA-105 from sonicelectronix.com, when it gets in stock, shipping is like $100........... but i get the the wiring harness and dash kit for free (dash kit from shop would have been $60) so thats good i guess, so it all adds up to just below $300...... so im saving just below $200 man, car audio sure is expensive. for now i can admire the buaty of the 18" btl.... man its a work of art

Sub has arrived, pics and all

Good did you do it how i explained in my previous post? If so, how's it soundin now? ok so finnaly screwd it back in properly, you cant crack the frame by screwing it in to tight can u? lol. hope not, anyways, so i tested it a little and noticed air was escaping from under the subs surround where its screwed in, and noticed i failed at screwing it in so had to fix that up, but you see the weird thing is, once i get the volume just a little past halfway it seems like thats when the sub gets all its power and then it goes crazy, but not untill then. btw i dont have a af/m head unit, i have an req 5 which acts kinda like a hu.... yeah,, lol its weird. anyways its got all these settings and stuff here check it out http://stereogirl76.com/req52.jpg for sub it has, subsonic, LP and gain

well you see thats where i messed up, i put both the wires that go into the the amp from the sub, to the same set of terminals, im guessing they need to go to oposite sides.
