looking very good I hope dylan did you right

with anything about 300hz and above you will notice the surround being inverted and out of the way.... it's why people LOVE flat surrounds... inverted is even better when you get this kind of excursion... overall if looks were the point then yes... we can attach them correctly without problems... and any OEM people have this choice... I just like my speakers being the best possible

Even though he's biased against high excursion drivers I agree with a lot of what he says, but he's dead wrong with some of his conclusions, IMO. I'd be interested to see what these do off low power. If I got a pair, they'd be running full range with no tweeters, most likely in a floorstanding mass loaded TL. Power output would be in the ~10 watt range. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is a version of the delta with 5.2g I have messed with that is around 96db/w for the 8 ohm version but 93db/w is more than adequate

in the case of the omega it is used because the surround is around 11mm tall because it is not a half roll... THIS would look foolish sticking out of your speakers and could easily be damaged... Sd is preserved this way however and of course you will not have any weird effects from sound hitting the surround and causing strange anamolies off axis (which is a distinct problem) normal surrounds are probably the course of action for the Delta... for SQ purposes you would never want a surround that tall sticking out of your speaker (huge strange distortions will occur) on the Omega... not to mention easily damaged

Just wait for the webpage or beg Matt to take more... It seems like he hates taking pictures though I have a picture of a previous assembly with a normal surround instead of inverted if people are curious about what the cone looks like... If you look closely you can see the cone in the pics though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Since I still haven't decided just yet if I want to use inverted surrounds for the delta or not I haven't posted pics of it yet.... I think we're going to go with the normal surrounds however... I'll post pics of this soon. There's no pictures of the cone with the inverted surround simply because we had to modify the surround to mount and look correct which they will be in soon. you can have pics of it but it won't look anything like the final production driver hence why I saw no reason to post them in the teaser picture portion

you would only want to seal panel itself... it's the same for any high excursion driver... if 22 mm is scary the delta does exist to fill the area between .... 2.6" deep with 11mm one way should be easy to manage in any car on the planet and you can get extremely high output you wouldn't want to throw anything below 60hz at this thing in a door situation. The higher QTS stablizes it's playback considerably however unless you port (and even if you do) I wouldn't go below 40hz for SQ reasons. Does that mean it won't go lower? no. But I would never want a 6.5" making up my sub duties in a home or a car. Low output + large excursion + low efficency means a tall amplifier order to fill for no real output and added distortion for my midrange. at 93db/w however 12w tubes per side

will these mids be okay independant w/o a tweeter? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> this is how I've listened to them for the most amount of time... they sound as good on the top end up high (maybe a bit cleaner) than my PHL 1120's the FR after 10khz just isn't going to be very pleasing, however overall they will get you into the 14khz range... the midrange, of course, is incredibly clean .... make sure you're on axis if you run these full range... I generally am within 10 degrees on axis for full range listening

    Omega Midbass (22mm of xmax)

with a 6.5" in a component set with a large slope around 3.5khz like our crossovers provide you really won't have problems off axis even 70 degrees... and the tweeter will take over the rest I will get them to you quickly however

Jim griffin wants to send the speaker to be tested by John from Zaphaudio after he's finished... I've already approved this... www.zaphaudio.com will have independent FR's, distortions, decays within 2 weeks our FR/Impedence plots will be up soon.... busy weekend outside of these speakers for me and the shop... I will do by best to get them up before the end of tomorrow. Sorry for the delay guys

    Omega Midbass (22mm of xmax)

oh it will do everything listed here... and more as far as SQ that I don't get into talking about because it's subjective I emailed you and you will have one to test in no time

they're called teasers for a reason... there will be plenty of pics when the site is up... waiting for good pics from a real cameraman that are site quality sometime next week when ordering starts

    Omega Midbass (22mm of xmax)

haha no that's fine but thanks for the offer nonetheless... few independent testers will have them before we send them off to OEM folks Including Jim Griffin, Danny Richie, and probably Nugent Dang

They will be up tomorrow... waiting for the shop to email them to me

If what you are saying is true, I am in for a pair; however, I can't assume just because you typed something here it is as stated...much more likely here than other places. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the prototypes will be sent to testers next week... trust their words not mine but I assure you it's all true... otherwise I wouldn't send it off for testing
