Dual alternator usage.
Tosh Henderson replied to Tosh Henderson's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yes you can connect the second alt to where the first alt connects to your batteries (whether it be your front battery or all the way to the rear). I would run a few strands of 0gauge from the alts to the batteries though. If your running multiple alts, your likely running large amp(s) and pulling massive current, thus needing more wire for carrying current. Got it. Thanks for the imfo. -
Dual alternator usage.

When you build a set up that gets beyond just ho alt and batts and you step up to dual, triple etc alternator how is it wired? Do you run the output from second alt to secondary batts? or does it feed into the system another way? Where do you run the ground? Just wanting to know the general outline of this type of install. Yes I used the search function but no complete answer/understanding. -

yes this helps, think i got it. just clear this up for me i can have 2 14v alts that run through my wires i have now correct? i have 270a mechman with 0 gauge wire and the big three . so if i add another ho alt i can connect it to the same points the other is connected with additional wire, or run straight to rear batt bank right? sorry if im sounding confused. thnx -
I did the flush mount, which helps with the flex anyways.. plus I got bracing in the middle so it will help even more. But yes I can PM you with the cut out sheet. As long as you write COPYRIGHT by BaMF101 on the inside of the box :P lmao jk cool!!. I'll put anything inside box since the info is free. But thnx in advance for the help.

You didn't want to do double baffle on that box,or those Q's don't need it? Also can you send me the box design or cut sheet?
-
Yup! Its 12.5 cu ft. @33 hz, with about 12 sq inches of port per cube... and yes they are for the Qs That's incredible!! Plz post pics when done. Also if there anyway to get the detail plans for it? Was looking to upgrade my truck to dual 15's but if you have the plan for 18's I'm going there
-
Does that box allow you to keep your back seats? How many cubes and what's it tuned to? Are you putting those Fi Q's in from your Sig?

how much does an xcon 12" weigh? and 15"?
-
Ok thnx. Didn't see it on the ssa site, didn't think about the store
-
The same reason we put tons of cash and weight in sub/boxes into the back of our vehicles. We like it!
-
Have them both, sounds good.smooth tweeters. Just recently bridged the amp to them sounds better,I just have to be careful on the gains

I've had a d3400 under my hood since feb. It put out great power no problems. Today while working on my truck I noticed one side has a slight bulge. The batt still works fine, just need to know if I should be concerned?
-
no its just sitting in factory tray. maybe i should look into adding one
-
yes thats customer serv. as far as testing and holding charge it had set for close to two day when i tested it ,showed 12.8. and the side thats has slight buldge is only 2 inches from radiator ,so i think that could be the problem. my mechman alt tested out at 14.1 -14.4. I will try to get a pic later today with battery out of truck, again thnx for the reply nat

Tosh Henderson posted a topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Im upgrading from 2 12's on 1300wts tuned to 32hz to 2 15's xcons on 3500wts tuned to 30hz. Of course the xcons will be loader and sound great, but i've never ran subs in a box tuned that low.am I going to notice a diff in the upper range? My front comps play pretty well down low have them crossed hfp at 63hz.Just want to know what to expect.I play a lot of rap,and r/b some rock. -
