Sub amp - Hifonics Brutus 2610 I will try a new ground.. but that still doesn't really explain why this only happens with the sub amp plugged in I don't think?

How do you score a sub? It sounds like that was more of a vehicle score.. Because all that can very depending on enclosure/install/etc. Also could be a biased score, and Could vary by judge. One persons opinion does not define a speakers overall performance.

Any news on the large dickies? Last I heard the guy making them was sick. That was about a week or 2 before Christmas. He doing any better?

I've been searching the past few days for a ~2000w RMS amplifier around the $200 price range. Here's a couple amps I'm torn between: Audiopipe AP1800D - rated at 1800w rms @ 1ohm --- 180-200$ Hifonics HiFi2000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 200-230$ Quantum Audio QA4000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 220-240$ These are not top of the line amps no doubt, but which of these three would most likely put out the cleanest signal, do close to rated power and most efficiently? And any other ideas on other amps around this price range around 2kw rms? (No more than $250)

Just make sure the wire is sufficient in size and you'll be fine.

Could be. In some of those cases I've seen that you have to run a wire from the fuse panel to the HU power to bypass the factory amp to get the unit to power on and off.

Try wiring the HU ground to a bare metal spot somewhere instead of to that "Amp ground" on the harness and see if that works. Usually on an aftermarket harness though there should be a black wire to ground the HU to.

I just got a good deal on a Hifonics BXi 2610D in the for sale section.

It's going to be louder per watt, cleaner, and take the power like a champ. There's no such thing as underpowering a subwoofer.. C'mon Dom you know this.

^^^ one ohm per CHANNEL per sub. This amp is 2 monoblock 1500watt amps strapped together inside. So each channel is like using one of those amps, or bridge the 2 channels @ 2 ohms to get 3000 watts

I think you need a couple more knobs
