Eclipse CD3200 went dead after adding 2nd battery ground

Everything was working perfectly til yesturday when I took out my batterys ground and added another ground wire, when I turned the car back on my voltage gauge and both amps powered up but the HU didn't light up at all and started beeping really fast for the first few seconds then stopped, I hit the reset button on the HU and now nothing powers up (HU, amps, voltage gauge)...I checked both fuses on the amp (1 fuse on red power wire, 1 glass fuse on yellow "back up" wire) both were replaced and I've checked the necessary fuses in the interior fuse box with no luck... I've already emailed eclipse with no response in 3 days Im guessing that because they shut down all US operations...but I just had an autopage alarm installed about a week before this happened and FYI I have disconnected my battery countless times before with no problems so I don't think this is a eclipse security measure -
very werid electrical problem with new pos amp
brickloaf posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i had a t20001bd on my btl for a loooong time but finally sold the amp and the whole charging system but still have the sub im trying to sell, but i bought this kenwood 9102d from a buddy so i could thump while im trying to sell my sub... when i have all the wires connected (and yes it is hooked up perfect this isnt my first time) the power light does NOT come on, but the remote wire has enough voltage and the power wire is good (checked with volt meter)....BUT when i pull out BOTH 30a fuses the red power light comes on for like 3-5 seconds then fades away, but voltage and everything stays the same on the amp...the 4 channel amp i have hooked up next to it off the same battery works perfectly fine... what im thinking is the amp might just be fucked but the fact that the power light comes on when i remove the fuses makes me wonder...maybe a bad ground? but its grounded in the same place my 4 channel was grounded so it should be good.... any ideas anyone?? -

Weird popping nosie coming from rear speakers (4 CH amp)
brickloaf posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Soo just recently my rear speakers started making this werid popping noise that gets progressivley louder when you turn up the music, i hadnt done anything new to the amp before this started and it ONLY happens on the rear speakers. If it makes a difference my rear/front speakers are ran off 2 seperate RCA cables. Anyone have any idea? ive checked connections on the speaker and amp and everything looks fine. Im thinking its either bad RCA cables or the amp is going to shit... -

Well I checked the rcas and everything looked fine.,, but the plot thickens. I unplugged the rear speakers completly and still heard it barley through the front speakers...I'm starting to think it's the amp now...but idk what could have gone wrong since I haven't done anything new with it in months -

Yea I did that last night and if I swap the rcas the noise travels to the front speakers, in going to check behind the HU today but it sounds like when you conect neg and pos on a battery and it makes that noise when it sparks up -
Soo i was drivin down the street bumpin and all the sudden my subs cut off, when i checked it the amp was not turned on but the fuse wasnt blown, i took the fuse out then put it back in, the amp turned back on immedatley after. next time im driving it does the same thing and i have to take the fuse out and put it back in to turn on the amp. it only cuts out when i turn it up to a little over half volume. i would just go throw on another fuse but they dont sell any 250a fuses at my local places so id have to order online

do yourself a favor and ditch the power akoustic amp and pick up a real 4000rms amp cause the akoustic isn't putting out close to 4000....also I'd get a high output alternator and do the big 3

t2001bd power issued
brickloaf replied to brickloaf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm using 0g to ground the amp and the battery ground is also 0g, worked fine on my way home from school but well see. If my battery ground was loose wouldn't I lose all the cars power when it came off instead of just the amp -

my amp is grounded straight to one of my optima yellow tops via ring terminal... are you talking about a amp ground or battery ground -
you face the subs towards the trunk imo, unless you plan to COMPLETELY seal off the trunk

My amp is mounted in the middle of my trunk and today i had to take everything out to install some more spl tiles i got in the mail, when i put everything back in and opened my trunk, a drop or 2 of water (it has been raining the past 3 days in st louis) fell onto the circuit board of my t2k...it fell in right by the phase switch. After that when i turned the car on, the sub (FI BTL) was making a awful low scratching noise, at first i figured it was the rca's to close to a power wire, messed around with the rca's which helped a little. I finally figured out it had to have been the water when i unplugged the RCA's and it continued making the noise until i unplugged the speaker wires. it went anywhere from the small scratching noise, to a high pitch squeal, i hit it with the blow dryer on the lowest setting for about a minute which also seemed to help a little. anyone have any idea on what i should do? my next step is taking off the top of the t2k and physically drying it all and wiping away any water spots. btw, the sub will still play but i dont like hearing distortion from my 500 dollar sub, also the VC is not blown, i pushed in on the sub (while amp was turned off) and didnt hear any scratching.
