    Which speakers for Mazda 3

Oh and another important thing that I forgot to mention is that I have 3.8" mounting depth

    5" or 5x7

Thanks for everyones help, it's greatly appreciated! and 98GMC thanks for that link that is actually what's next on my list to buy and I didn't know the name of that part so I am stoked that you saved me that time for having to hunt it down, haha so thanks again!

    5" or 5x7

I have a 2011 Mazda 3 and I think my speakers are 5x7's, but from all the reviews i've read, most people say that round speakers are better than ovals, so would a 5" be better than a 5x7? I would like to put 6.5" in my car but I don't know if they would fit or not.

    5" or 5x7

Alright so I took off my door today and the measurement from my window to the mounting bracket (not speaker) is actually 2 3/16", the speaker bracket is 1 3/16", and the space from the speaker bracket to the door panel is 7/16", correct me if I'm wrong, but I should have 3.8" mounting depth correct?

    5" or 5x7

If I can get some time to take my panel off tomorrow I will try to see if I can measure the space between the mounting bracket and the back of the door panel and if not then I will try the clay trick. Also what do most of you find to work best for splicing wires together besides soldering? I like setups which you can unplug and plug wires easily so I don't really like butt connectors for this reason, but if I need to use them I will, but I know there are other great connectors out there.

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but how do I figure out what the space is from the top of the mounting speaker bracket to the back of the door panel is?

    5" or 5x7

I decided that I will give it a shot at making my own out of 3/4" mdf, and the only part that worries me is the top half of the mounting depth, because right from my window to the top of the mounting bracking (not speaker) is 2.5" but I don't know how much room I have from the top of the mounting bracket to the back of the door panel
  9. I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and I am getting a HU but I need help on which one would be the best bang for my buck. Now I'm not looking for something cheap quality, but something hopefully below $250 if it's a single din and if it's a double, then below $400 if possible. What my main concerns in a HU are is that it has an AUX in, 4V or higher, subwoofer, preferably lots of options to customize my speakers sounds, such as EQ, Bass, Treble, and all that jazz. If I do get a double din, it should fit in this, shouldn't it? http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2010-mazda-3-4dr-sdn-auto-i-touring-photos.htm?photo=1745325&perspective=interior Features which I would really like and would be a huge plus: Touch screen BlueTooth DVD player Navigation
  10. On crutchfield it shows 1 year so I'm assuming that is what the warranty is from amazon as well. My next questions are: 1. Do they make a wire harness kit for the 2010 mazda 3, I see lots for the 09's but haven't seen any specifically for the 2010-11 2. I saw a video a few days ago but can't seem to find it again, but it showed instead of soldering the wires together they had a small wire casing that you could take two ends of wire and put them into the casing and you screw (twist) together the two plastic pieces and they said it was as good as soldering the wires together, where can I buy these at? 3. Do they make a dash kit in Silver for the 2010-11 mazda 3?
  11. Ok, that's fine. What is Pioneers Manufacturer Warranty on Car Audio?

Awesome thank you! I am way glad to know I can fit 6.5" in I looked on the site you told me and didn't see my car model so I e-mailed them to see if they have that size for my model. Is there anywhere else that has the adapters for about the same price?
  13. I think I am going to just buy the 3200bt and just use my portable GPS Two more questions though before I purchase this unit. I just looked for like 30 minutes and couldn't find anything about what Pioneers Warranty is on car audio? Amazon is asking $326 shipped for this unit which is cheap so don't get me wrong, but the more money I can save the better, so does anyone know if anyone else sells them cheaper than Amazon brand new?

    A 6x8 adapter so I can fit a 6.5" speaker?
  15. Because of my job I drive a lot to several locations sometimes 5 a day which I think it's time to throw the portable GPS out and just get a HU that has it built in. The 3200 is very reasonably priced, but I can't justify paying $300 more for there GPS unit making it a $700+ unit. Is there any double din units out there with the EQ options, GPS, and Ipod (or aux input) for under $500? Any other options are just going to be a plus, making me feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck haha which is always a good feeling.

I have the non-bose 4 speaker package. When I measured my front speakers in my doors, I measured the outsides of the bracket that speaker is in which is pretty close to the same size as the speaker, which my measurements were 8" Long x 5.75" Wide

    Which speakers to buy

I had some time to look at everything in the car today and I have four speakers, two in the front doors and two in the back doors. The depth from the window rolled down to the top of the mounting bracket (not the speaker) is 2.5" and the bracket that is on the speaker is 8" Long x 5.75" Wide, so is my speaker a 5x7"? Crutchfield says that the front can fit 5.25" and the rear doors will fit 5x7" since the 5.25" is round, this would probably be the best size of speaker to get wouldn't it? Or do you think it would be possible to fit a 6.5" in them? I would post pics of the inside of the door but I can't figure out how to post pics on here.
  18. I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and since I just bought it tonight I haven't had much time to really search everything out about the car but from what I found online it looks like it has 5 1/4" speakers which I know there is two speakers in front doors and two in the back, i'm not sure about the rear deck or any tweets around the dash, which I will check tomorrow when I get a chance, but anyways I was wondering if there is anyway to fit a 6.5" speaker in the 5 1/4"? Should I just get two front speakers or two fronts and two rears since they'll be in the doors, which I do plan on amping them? I know this is all personal opinion, but I mainly listen to metal, but I also listen to rap, hip hop, and techno sometimes. Which speakers would you get that can get really loud and stay crisp for under $300? Also, I already have a sub and amp so bass isn't going to be an issue.
  19. I have owned a few different single din's but never have had a double din or touchscreen, so for the people with experience with the double din's, what do you prefer between a single and a double din?

    Fi BL 12 help. (Vid)

I know on one of my amps when I messed with the Sub Sonic Filter it made my sub either hit hard or not hit at all. Try turning it all the way off or all the way on and see if that affects the output at all.

    Help H/U Problem

I have a Pioneer DEH-P3900MP and I gave it to my bro who installed it in his 05 Hyundai Sonota and when he was wiring it up he use pliers to cut all the cables off the stock wiring harness and he said that all the wires touched for a second when he cut all the wires so it made a spark, but after he got it all wired up it was working. He then screwed it in and put everything back together and the HU wouldn't play any sounds even though it was powered on and the volume was all the way up. He replaced the Audio and Clock fuses with new ones and there is still no sound. What could be the problem for why there is no sound?

    Help H/U Problem

It will only emit sound through the speakers if only three are hooked up, whenever we wire up a fourth speaker in his car, it doesn't play any sound at all. BUT he wired up three of the stock speakers and wired in a aftermarket speaker as the 4th and it played sound through every speaker. Why would it do this?

    Help H/U Problem

We did try getting a wiring harness but none of the local stores by us had any harnesses for his year/model of car. I will tell him to try plugging in a speaker directly to it and see what happens.
