Having a garage has never sparked an interest in me for a remote start. Key-less entry, automatic windows roll up at lock, power side mirrors, those are some things I want to bring into mine. Also, shaving the doors and putting touch sensor to open them. Just because I can.

Meh face.

Ha, I just quit yesterday.

How much was that NOS system?
-
Yes, exactly. Sometimes I hate to be know for something. People ask dumb questions all the time and want to do thing for them for free like you enjoy it. I enjoy it on my own car, fucker.
-
Had a similar thing happen today. A guy I know and we've hang out(not enough to call good friends), called me yesterday and asks me if we can do some work on his audio. He cut the card above the trunk of his hatch and put some 6x9, but mounted them on both the high and low ground resulting in leaks and bad looks. Spend half the day patching his old holes, making new ones, cutting the metal underneath and then re-upholster the whole card... almost for free. Instead of fixing my own car. Never again I am doing free work, unless you've done something for me.

How much varying do you get in each location? If you are using the built in mic I wouldn't believe any of it... 0.2 points. We will see after 3 weeks how much that equates to actual dB meter.

@6;53 I think you just got glue on the already laid carpet?

RTA results, the laptop was set on a little chair next to the glove box: Everything closed(doors/windows) 33Hz 112.3 ; 34 - 112.8 ; 35 - 113.5 ; 36 - 112.7 35Hz Driver window open - 114.5 Driver door open 114.6 - saw a 114.7 but could not repeat it again Both windows open 113.5 Passenger window open 113.8 Both doors open halfway 109.5 Moved the box to the trunk 35Hz Driver door open 114.8 So overall - the car peaks at 35(as was proven on show last year) and it's loudest with mic on passenger side and driver door open. And with the box in the trunk it's louder than in the middle in the car. Driver door open 35Hz driver window down 35, box in the trunk, driver door open

I complete forgot you were working on your own SPL meter.
-
You are not alone on this one.
-
I've got that too. Your is probably Wi-Fi tho, mine has not that big of a range with the Bluetooth.
-
Can you see what's actually on the screen of the controlled unit or it just a remote.
-
I'll not be measuring at full tilt. Neither the voltage nor the temperature of the equipment should change dramatically.
-
I think measuring will be done at a lower volume, so the mic won't 'shit the bed'. I plan on going to a competition, yes. But it is far from my goal and the car is not set for any of it. I just want a bit more that is all.

It's not that much about the actual score rather than a particular change made and it's effect on the score, it being lowered or improved. I like the idea of knowing if I do a certain upgrade(brace the box better, add fiberglass, bigger port flares) how that interacts with the score. But then I'll need a real testing setup.
-
As I said, the louder one may show up quieter on that mic.Well, that's what I get with cheap equipment. In the end I hope for some gain. Everyone is running POS boxes made out of particle board and the overrated Ground Zero. I want to spank some asses.
-
I eventually may end up with the Russian SPL meter(TermLabs alternative). But it is way in the back of my list. Environment sure does play a big roll. Just slightly opening my window makes it louder. It may be easier to not use the on-board mic. A wired one for easier maneuver may do the trick as well.

Stupid language barrier. By time sampling you mean how often it gathers the info?

I need a good brand mic for my desktop, but money is scarce right now. Kidna between jobs. I am like 'whatevs'. If it works, it works.
