Afternoon, Justin. I hate cats just for an fyi.... Anyone got any ideas on what the heck this fella did to this poor subwoofer?

It's not particularly chilly in the south central areas either...

Thanks for the support

Allo, Jim ~ Eldo

Now there's handy info right there

Greetings, fellow SSA members. Looks like this might turn into my new car audio home on the 'Net. Is that okay with you guys???
-
They don't look backwards on those of us who did not use a mirror to take their pics
-
Team SS Audio shirt with shipping: around $20 Not having to deal with Eldo's threats of putting a hold on my shirt when I get on his nerves anymore: Priceless!
-
Well the pics are all fine and dandy, Eldo, but where's MINE?!? (well, my Tshirt anyway as I did not order a button-up)

I've been very fortunate. My wife gets to have her way until it actually matters to me. On that rare occasion that I see fit to tell her inarguably NO she simply says Okay and goes on about her business. It's a good system and it works for us

I'm wondering about the Orion 222 SX. Like this: I know it is rated for 22w X 2 @ 4 Ohms. Outside of that, however, I am somehow under the impression that the SX-series units would do somewhat over rated power and additionally would run at lower than expected resistance loads like the HCCA and XTR amps would? If I am mistaken about this please do correct my ignorance. If anyone knows the real output of this little guy or could maybe point me towards an installation/user's manual I would be greatly appreciative.

Okay - maybe not so helpful after all. I was sent an owner's manual that covers all of the SX-series amps and provided no more output information than what I already know. It tells you that it is bridgeable and how to properly do that but provides exactly ZERO information on output outside of normal, 2-channel, 4 Ohm stereo operation So now I'm back to square one. -
Just agree with him and go on about your day. That argument simply isn't worth having.

Well, I navigated my way through DEI's automated phone system and spoke to an incredibly friendly fella who informed me that he does, in fact, have some info on this little SX amplifier and he'd be more than happy to either fax or email that info to me pronto. I gave over my email address and he assured me that I'd have that info ASAP. Say what you like about the way some of the brands taken over by DEI have gone downhill since becoming part of the Directed universe but their CS, at least in my minimal experience, is right on top of things Now that I've gone through that process of course my email has to have an attitude and won't let me in (a server problem not a failure to remember my login info problem but maddening all the same) -

But what might the odds be of a current DEI tech knowing something about a product that was from long before Orion was under the Directed umbrella? Meh. I'll give 'em a shout in the AM and see, i suppose. -

I feel ya on that. I have one of the original Punch 150s that I haven't used in years now. I hook it up every now and again to make sure it still works and other than that it sits in the closet. This little Orion might become a partner to the P150 on the shelf. -
And then you start wondering just how crappy your life must be to sit around doing more or less nothing in front of a computer all day. I feel your pain....

1st post in the IHoP. Woot for me, or something?

Well, denim, someone else decided to sell it and I bought it. I don't see that I'll be getting rid of it, though. -

Okay, that's more than I had previously, I reckon. Thanks for that I ws hopin it would end up being worth what I paid for it. I reckon I will have to either call Orion...errm, Directed (would Directed have that info?) or email them and see if I can get further info to either validate or refute the idea of running it 2 Ohm bridged (which is what I was thinking it would run at previously before you said it too) -

Yeah....I've looked and looked and looked online, Googled it, etc and stangely cannot find anything on it? IIRC these amps were fairly popular back in the day and I would have figured someone would be able to tell me something about it more than I already know (which is very limited info indeed, sadly) -

HU not powering up
Prowler573 replied to Swimmerdude's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Fixed, I think? It's been a long time, Eldo, since I have put a HU in a vehicle that didn't use the illumination connection. Well, that didn't have it as an option since it does not have to be connected for the HU to work. Now, I don't install for a living so I don't see near so many vehicles as someone that does...but certainly I was under the impression that it was the norm nowadays rather than the exception to the rule. -
At current my setup is what is found in my sig.
