Has anyone ever had or heard a modded US Amp? I am speaking to a guy who says he upgrades US Amps and when I asked he said he makes them sound clearer. Any idea what he means?

Funny, as I am waiting for my USA-600x to arive, I had to put an Old Rockford Fosgate Puch 100 DSM in my car. Well early this week I bought a US Amps USA-50 as an amp to run my tweeters in a all active system. I just realized its rated 50 watts X 2 just as the RF 100 is alaso rated 50 X 2. I am going to get some connectors tomorrow to properly attach the wire to the US Amp and swap the two. With the same power rating and similar size, I look forward to seeing which one takes the cake lol On a side note, Can anyone explain why my USA-300x I just got has 2 Power connections and 2 Ground connections? Do I need to wire accordingly? If so that means even more distribution blocks lol!

lol My CD collection has been growing quickly since I found this site! I hear songs I have never heard before I like and want to hear them on my killer car stereo or home one instead of the BA Computer speakers lol

use 8 guage wire I AM A ls runnign similar models <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok Thanks. The owners manual I read online said use at least 8 awg wire for the ground and power. Just wanted to check. One thing I am confused on now, is why 2 powers and 2 grounds? Do they both have to be wired up? If so that means a lot more distribution blocks then I thought lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i dunno why but yeh they both have ot be wired up i think it probably helps with current flow to the amp or something like that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah I think so too. Since they puch large amounts of power I assume its to allow us to install 4 awg worth of wire to the amps using 2 8 awg wires. It helps keep the entire install uniform that way in my opinion. And WoooHoo got my last amp tonight! So the whole install is this.. USA-50, USA-400x, USA-600x, USA-300x! Rock ON! lol

Hi all, I am still waiting for my US Amps to arive, and in the mean time I am ordering new wire and other things I will need for my new install. I have 0 Awg comming from the Battery back to the trunk. I will be running a USA-300x, USA-400x, USA-600x and a USA-50. Should I run 4 or 8 awg wire to those amps Power and ground? Also should I run one large fuse, or get a distribution block with seperate fuses to control each individual amp? Just wondering what wire and hardware I should use to insure a strong safe system.

Well I installed the US Amp USA-50 and took the RF 100 out. All I can say is OMG!! lol For this tiny amp (even smaller then the RF) it is very loud! I would say this tiny amp is more on par with the power of my Xtant 604X I had. I am a little freaked now.. If the USA-50 is this loud, I can already tell I am in for a wild ride with all the US Amps I have planned to install. Heck this little 50 was just bought to only run my tweeters, but does an excellent job running my whole CDT set. I think I have found my new Budget advice amp for people now lol! 50 x 2 my butt lol More on par with 75-100 x 2 when compared to other respectable amp companies! You have an instant new fan US Amps!!

lol Tomorrow... I just need some of those fork like connectors. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> speaking of which, i shipped those terminal screws today. nah you dont need them. just put the wire in the slot screw down and your cool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, I just like clean installs lol The RF is a hole and screw type of install so nothing extra needed... Can you answer my second part question in the original post? Why the double power and ground, and do I have to wire that way?

Not on your list, but the Eclipse cd-8053 is probably the best SQ cd player out there. I have one, and OMG is it awesome! -
I have a VMPS Original sub with all the options. You may look into building him a Large Sub. You can buy the Plans and woofers, the Kit unassembled or fully assembled. These are un-powered, so you need to buy an amp. I use a 500 watt Rotel amp Bridged to run mine. It rocks as one of the best SQ subs I have ever heard. See them at www.vmpsaudio.com Here is mine... http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/Oak...VMPSClose01.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/Oak244/VMPSSub01.jpg I SOOOO Want to try their Towers!! I just need to save $5,000 lol

I already have a coat of BrownBread all over my car. I have looked into adding more to the doors of my car. Would you all suggest a Liquid base or another sheet kind of deadener? -
Crossover Help
Oak244 replied to Oak244's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I think I have found a US Amps US-X3 I will buy. I think having a US Amps X-over with all my US Amps will be cool. -
I have an Eclipse CD-8053 CD player which I love. It have a built in Crossover, However it can not do everything I need. I need a outboard Crossover that will work in conjunction with the Eclipse r all by itself to control a 3 way or 4 way system I have a SI Sub CDT EF8 Midbass CDT ES520 Components. Now either I need to break the audio line in 3 spots and use 3 amps and let the Components Crossovers do the work between the 5.25 driver and the tweeters, Or I can buy a 4th small amp to run the Tweeters off the new crossover. My Main concern is that its adjustable, and will not introduce any new noise, in other words a SQ piece! Let me know if you have any suggestions. I am really considering the 4 Way system with 4 seperate US Amps to run the 12", 8" 5.25" and 1" Thanks, Tim

Old School RF Deck

Yes the 8240 ans 8250 were the only two made. Those are the Rockford part numbers, then on the front they were labled the PLATINUM 2000i or 2000TI Here is the owners manual http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/libr...-50_Pla_MAN.pdf -
Well I got a Purple one. Guess if I ever see a Chrome one I will buy it and sell the Purple one lol.. Ok 1 Amp left lol
-
Anyone know real quick what colors the US Amps USA-50 came in? I am thinking of using one to power my tweeters and have seen it in purple and black. All my other amps so far are Chrome, but are all part of the Xterminator series. Thanks for any help

Old School RF Deck
Oak244 replied to Nikuk's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I can give you an honest opinion. These are not the Denon HU's. I used to have the RF RFX-9300 which ran my system for about 3 years. I did not the Punch option and the Sub Out gain was very strong. This is only needed if you do not have enough power for your sub. If you have enough sub output you would not need these options. I will say, I sold the RFX-9300 and bought a used Eclipse CD-8053 and OMG did it change the sound of my system. All things stayed the same except for the HU, and it sounded like two totally different systems! Everything was no longer muddy, and the midbass is fast and very strong! Everything was better in my opinion! It also allowed me to sell my EQ and Crossover as the CD Player has both of those built in and DSP as well. I would spend the extra $50 over the $200 anyday for the 8053! My only complaint with the 8053 is the clock. The numbers are inside a dot matrix display, which makes them very hard to see even at night, and impossible during the day. Hope this helps -
Change Head Unit???
Oak244 replied to Mir's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I second the Eclpise option. I own a Eclipse CD-8053 and the sound is amazing with its 24 Bit DAC's! The DSP, EQ and Crossovers are an awesome plus as well! -
Sorry I came to the board a few days ago, so a little late here. I am a new owner of a SI sub and US Amps so was directed to this site! Very cool!
